We have a lot of musicians here (it is The Rockstar Game after all!) so maybe a FAWM challenge might be more successful than a NaNoWriMo one?

How to win? Make an album, hence "February Album Writing Month". 14 songs in 28 days. Whether you're a seasoned musician or someone who has never performed a song before in their life, it's all about writing/recording music and having a good time. (Remember. The songs don't have to be good, they just have to exist.)

OK, so I know I failed drastically at NaNoWriMo (2009 was my worst year, I just get worse every time), but my first FAWM is this year and I'm determined to win. I've found out that I can just write lyrics or do singing without backing, as long as it's a song, a song written by me, and a song written by me in February.

http://fawm.org is the site if you're interested. (The site is a bit dodgy right now, comes up with a few 502 errors, just refresh it.)
http://fawm.org/fawmers/bikki - if you join, add me to your watchlist because I'm small, I'm cute, and I write good songs. (:

Oh gods. I'm going to end up trying to do this now. Damn you.

14 songs though? It'll be weird trying to come up with short things.

If it's 502 bad gateway, it keeps doing that. The way to get out of it, as far as I've seen, is to refresh the page a couple of times.

14 songs?! Almost every decent song I've ever written took over a year to complete, and I won't record crap. So thanks, but no thanks.

Okay, I am definately doing this. I figure parody screamo, with everything done on my bass. :D
Too much leather chair is unsightly and greatly increases your risk of leather-smell.

I think I'll write a noise-opera. Some crazy pseudo-scientific nonsense story with a diabolical musical accompaniment. Otherwise I'm never going to be able to write 14 songs, I'll just end up writing one hour long collage.

I could make like 14 2 minute hardcore songs, otherwise I wouldn't have enough time in the studio, I think that could work.

Or I could return my black metal project and simply make 14 all computer based songs and then only need to record vocals.

You don't actually have to record them apparently.

You win just for "Also a tin teardrop".

Anybody who doesn't get that reference is a poor music fan.

Odd then that it is not reflected in the influences.

Fuck it, I'm gonna do this as well. This will be horribly lo-fi though. It will probably consist of me playing my fucked up fourstringed Ibanez with a key instead of a pick, Microsoft Sam rants about a horribly pretentious story (that I'm gonna think up tonight), useless random notes, acoustic "shredding," animal sounds, and kid songs, all recorded on my 1980s tape recorder. I HAS A CRAYON will be my magnum opus.

I'm gonna have to juggle whacking things out between Logic Pro 8 at college, then doing vocals with a fucking broken condenser at home. These songs'll be rough, but hey ho, least I might get a few good ones :3

I may do some crappy simple bass only songs haha.
The only thing I have to record music records my bass notes as fart sounds, so it can be interesting.
Perhaps I can add Brazilian TV conversations. Yeah, that'll be great.
I also have a small piano (for children) that partially works.
