Well, we've just finished the Ireland leg of the tour. A beautiful country, you must agree. But I can't wait to get home again, I suppose. With pounds and all that. We've experienced some of the culture of Ireland and i'm sure a piece of it will remain with me forever... no literally, I stole the hotel goodies. Reckoner have been awesome to work with too.

Today we actually have proper news for you.

First off, we'll be supporting Herr Fische in their upcoming tour. They are an awesome band who deserve lots and lots of recognition. As a young band, we look up to them a huge deal.

And second off, we performed at the Wireless Lounge this afternoon. It went down extremely well by the looks of it... they seemed to be enjoying it a helluva lot. We're probably gonna turn it into a DVD. I wasn't so sure it would work on acoustic, but it came out beautifully and I was really proud of our creation.

That's all folks.

The 2010 Metal Invasion is well underway.... there should really be a festival for it or something.Anyay, we just checked in on allmusic.com recently, who are notorious for being wrong a lot of the time, and they listed us as Post-Industrial. I think that's cool, I don't know. But never mind.

Many pre-orders of the album have been made, most possibly due to the Failed Youth and friends thing.
In other news, we've decided that we're going to release a DVD of the wireless lounge.
Not to be forgotten, we're glad Mashfest will still be going.
Definitely.

We're thinking about our next single from The Juggernaut. We'll shortlist the ones we think could make it and go throught the pros and cons of each.

First off, we have Lyophilization (the Words and the Worlds). It's an epic song, and clocks up at a normal time. It's one of our catchiest and most anthemic. The obvious flaw is the catchiness of the name however. To add to that, it might be too different, maybe TOO melodic, from our other stuff to release it. But there's a good chance it will be the single.

Second choice. Serenade (full name Anthema II: Serenade). Now this song is more metallic, although it has some obvious hardcore influences. This may lead some people to accuse us of choosing this song, so this probably isn't the safest bet to pick out as a single.

The last option is the Trail of the Wanderer. It's very melodic and quite folky. It's certainly more experimental than most of our shit. However, it's not folk metal. It's either folk rock or heavy metal. The main con of having it as a single is that it is a fairly long song. That's about all really, apart from the fact that we're keener on the first one.

What do you guys think?

OOC: I'm using these as examples. I know it's slightly frowned upon to use real music, but whatever.

We've got even MORE exciting news for you. On top of our co-headline tour with one of our greatest influences, Black Gold Reign, being supported by The Voyd, we're going to show you the album artwork and a couple of song names already.

Song titles:

Anthema Sanctuary (you've heard a preview of that, hopefully)
Eve: In The Realms of Hallows
Winter Upon Us

And of course, there will be a title track:

The Aeronaut.

Now for the artwork (it's in progress, not confirmed yet):

We can now officially state the track listing and date of our upcoming album The Aeronaut. The date in which it is going to be released is now officially the 20th April, which is earlier than we expected. As for the track listing here we go:

1. Monoxide Dream (Intro)

2. Winter Upon Us

3. Those Who Knew

4. Tainted of Demons

5. Eve: In the Realms of Hallows

6. Weep*

7. Scar of the Stars

8. Massacre of the Black Sun Rebellion (interlude)

9. Anthema Sanctuary

10. The Aeronaut

11. The Rose Petal Path I (Wisdom Call)

12. The Rose Petal Path II (Rise of Anthema)

13. The Rose Petal Path III (Entrails of Angels)

14. Airborne Warrior

* Originally called Monocolour

This album will have a much more melodic, progressive feel, yet it will be heavier also in some aspects. The heaviest song will be Entrails of Angels, but you'll have to wait for now ;)

We can now officially state that The Juggernaut has peaked at an amazing no. 13 in the UK charts. Well, amazing for us anyway. (OOC: After this, i'm becoming RP only.) Also, our single Divine Usurper reached a gargantuan number 38. Woop woop.

We're also supposed to be announcing our next single, so here we go. Our fanss have decided it will be... Lyophilization (The Words and the World).

Y'know what? We're bored and we also like giving people a sense of suspension. So here are the lyrics of one of our songs off of our upcoming album (out around about June-ish) The Aeronaut.

This is Weep:

Hold your hair back,
Whilst I land the blows,
No happy ending,
Yet that's how the story goes,
Fear ascending,
Now let's be sure,
Written in the stars,
Is the scar of lore

Kingdom, kingdom come,
Kingdom, kingdom come,
This isn't a holy land,
No holy land no more,
Take what you will,
You selfish little... whore...

(*SPEED UP*)

May god have mercy on your pitiful little soul,
Don't let me find you in this wretched, sorrowful hole,
Your mind says freedom, yet your heart says persevere,
Your mind is not your leader, your mind shall bring only fear,

Mind,
Your mind,
Your mind,
Belongs to me,
Stupid fucking whore,
Selfish pitiful slut,
Weep as your obliverated into the night sky...

Hail... ANTHEMA!
Mercy... ANTHEMA!
Glory... ANTHEMA!
Our mind... ANTHEMA!

(*SLOW DOWN AGAIN*)

Please, my god, just let me free,
Take away this misery,
The night sky, the ashes, the stars have shined,
Contribution to your decline,
Feel this sorrow, feel this hate,
Feel the divinity, that you create,
Taste my power, hear my roar,
Yet my head is aching, my legs are sore,
My fingers tremble, my face is pale,
From the creation of this horrific tale,
Systems alert, the error is nigh,
Killed as you pitifully moan out your cry...

((OOC: It's a bit shitty, I know, but I had nothing else to do.)

We can officially give you all the reviews and shit we got for The Juggernaut:

www.allmusic.com: 4.5 stars "This album shows that you can be conceptual and not stray too far away from reality."

Metal Hammer: 8/10 "Mind have the potential to become one of metals all time greats... but they need to first get on settled grounds"

Kerrang!: 5 stars "The Juggernaut is simply stunning, showing how experimental and intelligent ths band really is."

NME: 5/10 "Mind aren't a bad band, but they get caught off guard too often, and they don't particularly fit in anywhere."

Absolute Punk: 94% "Mixing punishing Death Metal, Hardcore and Space Rock seemingly pays off. Whilst Free Your Mind put Mind on the radars, this could blast them into outer space."

www.about.com: 4.5 stars "This is a great album, but will they be able to follow it up? Will they run out of ideas and settle for one genre? The questions will be answered for The Aeronaut."

www.blabbermouth.net: 9.5 "True to their name, this will indeed blow your Mind."

This is a much better response then our debut, and our debut did alright! We thank you all SO much for your support on our album and we hope it left a mark on you. Forever. And ever. We hope The Aeronaut can match it.

Because we're awesome and love our minions, we've decided to release a bonus disc of outtakes and unused songs from The Juggernaut.

The Juggernaut Disc 2: Bonuses and other crap

1. We Who Fight (Extreme Metal/ Alternative Metal) (6:17)
This was originally going to be put into The Juggernaut, however after many talks we decided to replace with The Good Apollyon. It's a pretty basic song, it's a mixture between the normal Mind style mixed with Alt. Metal such as System of a Down. The solo is way shorter than most Mind songs though.

2. Mrs. Dorrington (Rock/ Acoustic Rock) (1:59)
More of an outtake than anything. A simple acoustic rock song, like if Alice in Chains had bred with Simon and Garfunkel. Good luck trying to get that image out of your head. No solo :O

3. The Burnt Rivers Remain (Speed Metal/ Death Metal) (4:23)
A little something from our Free Your Mind era. Brutally fast, but we didn't feel that it made the flow of The Juggernaut. It was actually written for FYM, and then The Juggernaut, but it didn't make either. You have to feel an incey bit sorry for it in a way. Plus, it didn't really fit in with the storylin of any of the songs.

4. Fast as a Shark (Accept Cover) (Heavy Metal/ Speed Metal) (3:18)
A cover of one of the best heavy metal songs ever.

5. Reprise (Heavy Metal/ Hard Rock) (0:32)
A little reprise of Lyophilization (The Words and the World), which is our biggest selling single and is also our most well known, with maybe the exception of Divine Usurper.

6. The Lead Monument (Progressive Metal/ Extreme Metal) (8:27)
A truly epic song, however got replaced by Divine Usurper. It's a good ol' fashioned Progressive Death song, with multiple time changes and various different instruments being used in here.

7. Cascade of Blood (live) (Death Metal/ Industrial Metal) (6:09)
Live and extended, one of our best known songs.

Our description in allmusic.com:

"Forming as one of the legions of Alternative Metal bands in 2001, Cambridgian band Mind went on to mix blends of numerous genres to create unique sounding, heavily synthesized Death Metal that incorporates genres from Folk to Grindcore. Mind have always been made of 4 primary members: Vocalist and guitarist Jason Smith, lead guitarist Aaron Del Petro, bassist Harry Thornton and drummer Robert Edwards. Through their demos, they started off stoner metal, then went into a Nu-Metal sound, then into Progressive, but finally finding their ground with the MindBodySoul EP, where they discovered their abilities to change genres, like a metal chameleon. Although taking Hardcore Punk roots on their debut Free Your Mind, they also kept with the Extreme Metal and Progressive sounds that attracted them to a large underground audience. After finally shedding all the history of their Alternative Metal roots, they took a risk by going Technical Death Metallic on their sophomore release, The Juggernaut. Luckily, it payed off and has become a huge success. For example, they show melodocism (My Fall From Grace), pure brutal heaviness (Scattered Hate) and extremely fiddly technical pieces (Lyophilisation). Who knows where Mind will travel to next?"
