Pretty self explanatory. How did you think of their personality, the way they act, all that stuff.
Jimmy Him was originally and still is somewhat, Iggy Pop.I was actually gonna name him Jimmy Pop until I remembered there's already a musician named that (he's the singer for a band called the Bloodhound Gang) but I did give him Iggy's real first name which is James. He's always topless (or actually naked, Iggy was and is always shirtless, I took it a step further), he's a hopeless drug addict/alcoholic,loud,violent,good stage performer, the only thing that isn't Iggy is is stature which is from Alexi Laiho or originally Kurt Cobain who actually isn't very short.
I don't really have a basis for Davey but Kit would be Keith Moon, his ability, alcoholism, wildness, and his obnoxiousness are all traits from Keith. That's about it.

I just sort of built it as I went. I only have one character, which i prefer because I can then make it more in depth and people always know who I'm talking about.

Jakey Comatose started as a fairly innocent musician, in fAthOm he was the youngest member (at only sixteen, dropping out of school to follow the band), and wasn't really involved in all the partying. When they split, he was the only one to find any success, and being the front man of this project has lead him to get more 'corrupted' for want of a better word haha. His personality was initially the 'nice guy' image, which endeared him to many, including his fans. Of late, he's shed his nice guy persona and become more egotistical and much more dark. This is partly because of the stress of fame, but also living up to the reputation he's gained and feels that he should have. The music he makes reflects this, at the moment he's making prog/shoegaze sounding material. The more he's got involved and the more fame he's gained, the less innocent he gets, really. He started partying and drinking quite heavily and eventually got involved with drugs, developing a heroin habit. He's very much in love with Raven, but is currently having an affair with Joshy. Deep down, he's still himself, but he's not showing it. I don't honestly know what age I had him when I last mentioned it, but at the moment he's 19, 20 in March.

Bikki and Sophy are me .... Sophy came first, then Katy, who goes under the pseudonym of "Bikitha" or "Bikki". They are both sides of me.

Misty "Mikki" Moo, along with James, was an original in "The Nightside Bikithan Cat Collective", named after Lewis' and my cats. She wasn't really developed much then apart from "egotistical lead singer". In Firecracker 47 - made up of my four cats - she was relegated to drummer because of Joshy's beautiful voice. Her personality stayed the same, but was more developed, still "catty", haha. She's very superficial and obsessed with clothes, especially ones that show off her legs. She is 29 years old. Mikki has been in a relationship with Chris Pratt of Shadow Of My Former Self for a long time, but doesn't spend much time with him and loves to flirt.

Roxana Katraba "Roxy" Firecracker, F47's guitarist and the only non-singer, was named after a new cat in the family. She and Joshy are both 21. Unlike the more developed characters of the rest of F47, Roxy appears very ordinary. The main things you notice about her are her love for all things looks-related, especially hair colourings, eyeliner and shoes (but far more "gothic" than fashionable Mikki), and that she is fat. She is currently in a serious long-term relationship with Matt of Dead Roses.

Joshua Ginger "Joshy" Firecracker, twin brother of Roxy and lead singer of F47, is very different to his sister - far more "in your face" and less sensible. He was originally going to be a younger, sillier version of Sexy Star (he has had two facelifts, explaining why he and Roxy look so different), obsessive about shoes, a total shopaholic and typically camp. He has a high "castrato" style voice similar to Raven's (though she is, he clearly isn't), making him a brilliant singer. He makes a lot of basic mistakes in life, usually relying on James or Roxy to catch him when he falls. Though he's had affairs with James, Bikki and now Jakey, he wasn't/isn't trying to hurt Katie/Jimmy/Raven .... he is just a highly sexually charged person and can't resist the sin of lust!

For me the main character has always been Tim Dunn. There have been auxiliary characters (like Mike in Axiom or Ryan in The Electric Experiment) but my rp's have always focused on Tim's story. He started out as a college kid who was just playing music for fun. He formed jazz-metal band The Electric Experiment and dropped out of college to pursue the band. After a legal battle with the band Souless Corporate Drones At Play! over the title of TEE's second album he began to work on what he would consider his masterpiece.

At this point in his career he became much more focused on songwriting and the craft of making compelling music instead of just playing for fun. He ended up creating The Electric Experiment's magnum opus (in game it was my first set of 100 rated albums), the double album "Feelings" made up of "Vengeance" and "Forgiveness." These albums were based off of Opeth's "Deliverance" and "Damnation" specifically one album was the really heavy album while the other was a softer progressive rock inspired album with lot of acoustic work.

After releasing these albums Tim abruptly left TEE before the next tour. His reason was because he felt he had done all he could to musically with the band and wanted to get back to playing music for fun. He then formed the jazz fusion trio Groove Machine. They released one album, the critically acclaimed "You Can Never Have Too Much Funk In Your Trunk." At this stage he was back to doing a lot of live shows and playing music that was fun to play for him.

It was during this time that Dunn founded his label Souled Out Records Inc. Eventually this label was bought by M/M and part of the once massive M/M family. During this time Tim began to really focus on the business aspect of the industry. What had once been all about the music slowly became about financial reports, earnings estimates, revenue streams, sales figures, and so on. During this time he tried to work with newer, less established artists to help them move up to the higher tiers of the M/M family.

During this time he also tried to work on the now mystic Groove Machine sophomore release "Knockout." Rumor has it that the album is complete and has set unreleased for all this time (I had the songs done just needed to click the release album button, but never did. Now I let it sit as a lost album).

Finally after the ending of M/M Tim took time off before returning now with Mike in Axiom.

All of these things have led Tim to become someone who likes to experiment and play with music. He experiments with sounds, chords, rhythm, instrument composition, and so on. However he has always placed a high priority on melody, giving even his most experimental pieces some structural basis. His personality has developed so that he is very sensitive to criticism (he has only really tasted failure once or twice, including recently with Axiom because I felt it would help make him more compelling if he is indeed flawed). He is also very mindful of the business aspect of this industry, sometimes even too mindful, because of what he has seen from the other side.

Well, I never really thought much about any of the guys other than Jimmy and to some extent Matt, so here those 2 are.

Jimmy Sullivan: I semi based him off The Rev (Rest In Peace), who drummed for Pinkly Smooth (My favorite band to only put out 6 songs) and later Avenged Sevenfold (Not as big a fan of those guys, but Waking The Fallen was killer), and even gave him The Rev's birth name. Personality wise, he's a crazy ass junkie, you can never expect what he'll do or try to predict his actions, cause he'll turn around and do the exact 180 degree opposite of it, and tends to flux between being a ranting douche bag and the funniest, most spontaneous ball of energy on the planet when he's high, which is generally 24/7. Musically, he relies pretty heavily on a natural born talent, not so much concerned with being the next Yngwie. Overall, you could say Jimmy is a cross between the near psychotic beings of Jimmy Sullivan (The Rev, if you didn't catch on) and Ozzy Osbourne and the warm, youthful Dimebag type.

Matt Carver: Laid back, real intelligent dude, the one with his head on the tightest out of all the BGR guys. He never shies away from excess, but unlike the others, knows when to stop. You can go from chugging beers with him to talking about the best damn opera you ever heard. All in all, he pretty closely resembles Matt Heafy (Once again, guess where I got the name) of Trivium.

Strange, I remember a topic just like this some time ago.

Shadows of the Knight:

Selem Cannonball
Looks: I Based his looks off of Matt Tuck (Bullet for my Valentine). I have no idea why to this date.
Personality: His personality has some similarities to mine. Laid back, but insane when high. He has self esteem issues, and often questions where or not he deserves to be in the band, let alone be lead singer. He is 25.
Musicality: Chris Barnes (Six Feet Under), Jonny Davy (Job For a Cowboy), and Steve Marois (Despised Icon) all jumbled into one growling, pig squeeling voice.

Kobra Knight
Looks: My friend Tanner and Travis Barker
Personality: Crazy and hyper. He's the pill popping, heavy drinker of the group. He is 23.
Musicality: Syu, only less powery.

David Pharoh
Looks: Eh, I don't remember what I based him off of.
Personality: Cool but a little annoying after a while. He is 20.
Musicality: Slap bass master.

Aaron Bokken
Looks: My friend Evan and Claudio Sanchez.
Personality: A kind, conciderate person, but he WILL NOT be proven wrong
Musicality: A brilliant drummer and singer, with a King Diamond type singing voice.

Elsewhere:
Elsewhere are based on Peaceable Jones and the spirit of Death metal. Eh.
Too much leather chair is unsightly and greatly increases your risk of leather-smell.

When I used Clash he was like a Trent Reznor sort of guy. He definetely doesn't give a shit about nothing, against the music industry... Then I left him for a while (from the blackout to a week ago) and now I'm using him again.
Zero (his brother), instead, was quite a Chuck Schuldiner type of guy.
BACK TO THE BOOZER // Clash (vocals, rhythm guitar), Zero (backing vocals, lead guitar), Claudio Sparks (rhythm guitar), Sara Cammarata (bass), Troy Kingston (drums).

That's SO been done, nooooooooob. ;) That's how Elliot finished fAthOm's character development, save for Jakey and Jasey because we like them. (As a last laugh, Syke could have swum to safety, but his jeans got caught on a rock and they were too tight for him to undo, so he just drowned. Death by skinny jeans - best TRSG roleplay death in my time here. I can only think of one better, and that hasn't even happened yet.)

Well basically I decided on two personalities. One involves a propensity to spout 'pataphysical bullshit, and the other involves a commercial, or at least a conventional interpretation of the other. Basically, Mana Gunray Serpentine as a collective is different from the sum of its constituent members.

Either way they're all weirdos.

All members of my bands have been based on friends of mine, save for Sugarcane Liars but they lasted all of two minutes.

Nick, Clint and Stephen are the main guys in the group because they are in my closest circle of friends but weren't in my original band on this, Benedict. The characters all started off based on those guys and have kind of developed into their own thing. Clint Walkingshaw most of all because he's like a hippy now where as my mate Clint is more of a goof. Stephen is probably the closest to what he was originally based on because the actual Stephen is a guy who can bit a bit mouthy and also drinks like it's going out of fashion (he used to go home and drink every night when we were in high school, even brought booze to school and got hammered in class on occassion).

Jay and Tristan were original members of Pilot but as I've lost contact with them I kicked them out and replaced them with Murray and Liam, also based on friends of mine. Then Liam actually did move to the US so his character did too. I decided since Benedict wasn't active anymore I'd bring in a character based on me. But I've let him take a back seat whereas he was the frontman in Benedict. Clint, Nick and Stephen can continue to lead the show.
Pilot are: Nick Edmondson (vocals, guitar), Clint Walkingshaw (guitar, vocals), Murrray Catalano (guitar, keys), Andrew Blackwell (bass), Stephen Holland (drums, vocals)

Pants Festival are: Andrew "Rooster" Dunnell (vocals), Kuhilan "Ku" Gounder (guitar), Stephen "Popa" Poepjes (guitar, vocals), Clinton "Gandy" Gandy (bass), Matt Hanson (drums, vocals)

Labrats are: Milton Mitchell (vocals, synths, guitar), Lara Branik (guitar), Liam Mitchell (synths, turntables), Preston Abelford (bass), Bonnie Snell (drums)

Hey everyone, I just got to wondering last night about character building, and how different people do it on here. What I mean, I suppose, is what is the thought process behind your characters?

I ask because I started thinking about it for my own characters. So are yours just total works of fiction that you plucked out of nowhere, and just created in your imagination, or do they have a deeper meaning?

I'll go first: When I started here, I RP'd as Blood Of Wecz. They were the death metal band that I so wanted to be a part of at the time. I was listening to a lot of metal, playing guitar all the time, and dreaming of a life on the road lol. It was no coincidence that the frontman of the band (now deceased) shared my name (although I am not deceased).

Moving on, I brought Cassie Bitch, obviously, into the game, and she was probably my most fictional character to date. I just wanted to have a character who was loud, brash, memorable etc.

Now I have only Katie left, and I just realised something funny this morning. Obviously, I am not a woman, nor a lesbian, or a psychpathic nutjob like Katie is, but the mood she is in at any time pretty much reflects mine lol. When Katie is loving life and stuff, I'm generally in a good mood. But when she is having a hard time, it's normally when I'm pissed off, or just generally feeling like crap lol. Best part is, I only just realised I was doing it, how weird.
I should say that I don't take drugs, break my arm, party all night in LA, or any other things that Katie does....she is merely a highly overblown exaggeration of my mood LMAO.

So what's your characters stories?

Hannah Beth- When she first came out i made her into probably like a party girl, young and reckless. Then i made her kinda mature over time and act more like an adult with a little kid side to her.

Lily- I wanted her to have a bold personality and always speaking her mind. I don't wanna say i made her out to be weird but i didn't want her to kinda be like Hannah with the whole 'innocent girl' image but i wanted her to be my outgoing character.

Hayden- I made him to be the fun guy that everyone loves:). I made him act like a typical guy but made him fun and silly acting as if he didn't have a care in the world. His personality will kinda clash with his music because you would think he might act a little more shy and conservative.

Isabel- I made her to be like the female version of Hayden but more of a mix between him and Hannah. She's a party girl but she can act responsible and mature. She's all about just having fun but she knows when to be serious at times.

That was my thought process for my characters. I wanted them to have kinda pieces of my personality in them without being exactly like me.

When I start a new character I usually have a general idea of what kind of personality they will have but I just sort of play it out and see what sort of personality forms itself. With Stacey I decided that I wanted someone quite different from Alicia. But there's no deep theory behind any of my characters, I don't know if my personality forms itself in any of my characters, I guess I'd let you people decide that one.

Gears of Bremen -

Renee Belamont: She generally doesn't know what she wants. I think if I was to get into that freudian thing and all, she would represent the part of me that's indescisive about ordinary decisions. When it comes down to it, Renee is the most simple member of Bremen next to Paul. She doesn't know if she wants to settle down and find someone nice nor does she know. She's the EGO of Bremen.

Paul Glover: The second EGO of Bremen and the most realistic. He's in Bremen because he loves playing music and easily the person who I have the least to say about.

Winston Marsh: The SUPEREGO of Bremen in a way. He aims to make music sloppy and have tons of distortion, in a way making it Perfectly Imperfect. I have to say that he's probably the part of me that's artistic, always looking for ways to make things more complex, or more than meets the eye. His backstory is one I'd really like to embark upon more but when it comes to backstories I've started crafting, Renee's is probably the best.

Gary Finch: The ID of Ego. The one who personifies the pleasure principle and acts as the Jungian SELF. He represents the core of Bremen and the invidivudal. He's weird and he barely if ever talks anymore. When I first made him, his mold was more like Winston's but as time has gone on...I'd say he's like a young Quentin Tarantino. Ambitious, ready to attack the world but too shy to communicate besides through his work.

Greggory Marsh: The SHADOW in terms of Jungian Self in that he's the exact opposite of the other members of Bremen. He's organized, he has everything planned out. Where Winston screwed up in his early life, Greggory excelled and also excelled in the place where his brother did. In terms of what I have planned for his future, Greggory has had everything work out for him up to this point. The next few months/years will be complete and utter hell for him. I just need someone to help RP with him!
