Well, it makes sense if it's not just lead singers and any band member can be considered. I got an idea that I don't know why I haven't put it in - "Best Band Member", like say you could pick out Joshy or James from F47 rather than having to call Mikki talented as well to give them an award. :P
Back to "Best Male Artist" and "Best Female Artist". It could include soloists or any member of a band. (NOT just the lead singer!) Alongside or as a replacement to the Most Attractives? I don't know.

Oh, and one more - "Best Use Of The Word 'Comatose'". ;)

I know what you mean by that. But I still think "Villain" is the wrong word. Sounds like it fits more in a movie award show. Same with Hero.

So two ceremonies in a row, MAF has been won by a man. (The last woman to hold it was one of PANIC!, and no, not Ryan Ross. Or was it Gemma Ferns? Can't remember which way round they were.) Could you be the third, or are the judges actually going to take the simple requirement of having a vagina into account with this award?

Also, to make a point, there are usually around four Birdies ceremonies every year, give or take, so it's not "of the year".

(After a think, I'll skip the Male/Female categories, because looking at MAF, it'd end up as Best Male Artist and Best Pretty Boy, especially as the rockstars are about 80% male. I don't mind so much with MAM/MAF genderqueering - heck, I'd LOVE Bikki to win either! - but bar the random, those are the most frivolous categories.)

About the Best Artwork split - instead of single/album, I think maybe we could split it into CD artwork and other artwork (eg. logos, posters, banners). It was always legal for artwork other than CD covers to get the best artwork award, I never forbade it and neither did Elliot, Lewis or Birdie, it's just that most assume it as CD cover art only. (Well, I think something else won in an early Birdies, but that was prebikztoric times. Bleurgh, I'm going all OOC, forgive me.)

I'm not sure about the Villain and Hero, what would win one? Would Rachel have been a villain for stabbing Raven and forcing Chris to pretend he did it, or would Britney have been a heroine (not the drug) for jumping in front of a bullet which was about to hit Emma? Things like that?
