Blastbeatting, gallopblasting and shredding straight outta Japan's touhou scene comes Ancient Legend, a young band playing instrumental guitar metal. Led by the guitars of Teru "Taka" Futoshi and Ryo Yamineko, they deliver a blistering power metal assault.

Ancient Legend was formed as a part of the Grey Wolf Records circle, Teru and Rito spend their first time jamming under the name of Opus Magnum. At the same time Ryo was making his own arranges of touhou music under the name of Dragoon. The three of them met at a doujin convention and discovered that their tastes and influence were similar. They were accompannied by pianist Yuki Sagashimono, who made touhou music with Symphotron. After trying out a few bassists, they found their man in Takeshi Yagami, who is the only one never to play any touhou music.

The band became the first to play touhou music in a complete band set-up. Furthermore, they mixed the touhou with compositions of their own. Because of this interesting mix, they became well-known in the Tokyo underground music circuit, not playing only doujin conventions as the Comiket, but also well-known clubs.
Their demo's have only been released in Japan so far, but the band is looking for a worldwide deal.

The bandmembers are:
Teru Futoshi - Lead, Rhythm and Acoustic Guitars
Ryo Yamineko - Lead, Rhythm and Acoustic Guitars-
Takeshi Yagami - Bass
Yuki Sagashimon- - Keyboards, Rhythm Guitar
Rito Arahara - Drums

The band is planning on recording a collaboration with singer/idol Miho Azuki. What this exactly means is yet to be announced.
As of now, Ancient Legend is writing their first full-length album. Their next demo is out March 26. More info on that coming soon.

OOC: I would, but ye know... Never done a festival and that before. I'd leave it to more experienced members than myself.

The first Ancient Legend single The Puppetmaster is out on friday and here are the details:

UserPostedImage

01: The Puppetmaster (4.21)
02: Through The Realm Of Endless Black (5:44)
03: For Kingdom Come (9:32)

The entire single is instrumental, and features lightning fast guitar solo's, twin leads and harmonics, blazing keyboards ans blasting blastbeat drumming.
With their ability to be brutal yet catchy, Ancient Legend will amaze everyone who dares to listen to their music. Now imagine a whole album with tracks like this... That's what awaits you, coming soon...
