I think it shouldn't go real time. i play this at work, when I get a moment and not when I should be doing my very important highly paid job. If this was real time my band would sack me as their creator for not paying enough attention to them and we've only just conquerd America! Live performances are essential for the real world but this, thankfully, isn't that. |

I think we should give this a go but with a month or 2 month notice. That way people can spend their points they have been saving and record their stuff. Even if we have to start all over, it's just a game it's not a big deal and it's for better. However, If all the stats transfer to the new version of the game then that would be even more awesome. And the whole thing of planning your stuff a month before in case you won't be able to log on for a while is great.
I also think:
-Since we wont have a point system, we should pay to rent venues, and the bigger the capacity the more the cost. Also based on your popularity have the option to bigger venues.
-Since the game is based on real life time, I'm guessing that the charts will be updated every week like in real life, not everyday. I also think, that the charts should also be recorded, but just the #1's. Those things would give both the game and roleplay more depth. I think almost everyone here roleplay's on real time anyways.
-Also the whole thing on set-list is an excellent idea. And based on your set-list it should effect your popularity and the success of your albums.
I think the best thing to be added to this game is ADVERTISEMENT (the more advertisement the better your single does):
Advertising Singles: -Make music videos -Send song to radios
Advertising Albums: -Appearance on Tv shows -Promotional tours
Of course these are all just ideas.

Dang, with what Daniel has said, I wanna change my vote from no to yes, since I'm going for vacation in the province for 10 days in April, I'm gonna lose alot of popularity in the regions I've worked hard on, I think we should give it a try! |

I like this game as the points system means that players are not penilised if other commitments prevent them from logging in for a couple of days.
Going real time would probably mean that i stopped playing

Going real time would probably mean that i stopped playing I definitely wouldn't be able to continue playing on this game if you had to log on everyday because even though at the moment I have enough free time to spend on the game and the forums in the next month or so I'm gonna be really busy. |

Don't you guys read? Carl said that you can plan stuff a month before it happens, so even if you can't log on, you already planned it.

Also, if you don't log on it would make more sense to not do as well as you should. Even with the point system if you don't log on, your popularity, ability and writing goes down, so I don't see what you guys mean.
It's time for change. Some people have been waiting for this for like 3-5 years and it's not fair that some that all these noobs take that away.

The points system actually suits people who want to log in every day better than a scheduling system would. Think about it - if you don't log in and put some points into them, your abilities and popularity are going to go down. If you've already planned ahead what you want your rockstar to do, you won't lose points/popularity by being away. EDIT : Arses. Two minutes too late. Basically, "What Steph Said". having read further post, this sounds like it may make the game a bit more detailed and interesting. I'll just have to see how my badgers take it. If we are given plenty of warning of the change I can stockpile points and take over the world from there. |

So, you'll only have to log in 12 times a year if this goes through, and still "win"?
There's something in it that I don't like, although I can't point it out exactly. Perhaps more options/possibilities within the current structure? |

This game is much more than win or lose. this is an RP game it has much more substance. I'm pretty sure you'll be logging in at least 12 times every month to check your status. Also Carl is upgrading the touring options and how many tracks you can have on an album and other little things. Edited by user 02 April 2010 04:51:32(UTC)

My dear, that was why "win" was between quotation marks. ;) I know this game is open ended, but the term 'game' does imply the possibility of winning and losing. From a developer's point of view, I'd say that the current system is better. Personally I'm slightly against making it real time. But if it's done right, I'm not going to whine and moan about it. However, in the name of all that is holy, beautiful and has boobs: don't turn this game into Popomundo. Just, please, no. |

And you stated it as if when you win that's it and no more. No you "Win" and you keep playing. Also, I honestly don't think this will turn like Pop mundo. Because Pop mundo has so much bullshit. If the concept of TRSG stays the same it should be nothing like Pop mundo. Edited by user 02 April 2010 05:14:29(UTC)

Popmundo, ugh .... PLEASE, Carl, NO references to the rockstar's mother! :P
What I like with TRSG, it's much more open and freeform than games like Popmundo, Music Maven, and the late, crap Project Rockstar. Also, to make the game a bit less linear, Carl said he'd be introducing random events and dilemmas to solve .... I like the idea very much, as long as it doesn't go all NationStatesy on you if you haven't logged in for a while, and you're bogged down with a ton of questions to answer. |

What I enjoy about this game is the speed of it. You tour multiple times a day. Maybe write a couple of songs, and release a single/album, all in one day. |
