Mt. Epic wrote:My favorite music genre by far. It got post grunge, grunge, indie rock, synth rock, garage rock revival, post hardcore, pop punk, alternative metal, acoustic rock (although not exclusive to alt rock), and so much more. Its my favorite too, that's the reason I made this thread... If there's a Metal Thread, there should really be an Alternative Rock Thread.. |

Personally, I believe alternative rock nowadays has been overcrowded with too many pop punk bands, and the few bands who aren't pop punk are extremely popular anyway so they don't make good music anymore. The 90s was where it was at. |

Alt rock died in the 90s.
But seriously the breadth of music covered in the alt rock label is staggering. You could love one "alt rock" band that I would hate and visa-versa. |
Axiom is Mike Peck- Production/Guitars/Piano/Keyboards/Hammond Organ/Vocals Tim Dunn- Production/Guitars/Bass/Drums/Saxophone/Vocals |

True, but still alt rock is my favorite genre(thanks to Radiohead, Muse, Arctic Monkeys and many more bands) yeah, it was great back in the 90s, early 00s because pop punk was either generally unknown or was still new so it was bareable. Nowadays, it's just pop punk band after another. And the few new non-pop punk alt. bands nowadays are synth rock that have about two seconds of fame and then die, i.e. Phoenix. And the old bands from the indie era or close are either non-existant, lost popularity completely with the rush of nu-metal in the early 00s, or are extremely popular and successful and make a bajillion amount of dollars a year. There's nothing good nowadays. And the new pop artists rip off the rock artists now and are considered utter geniuses. Like, I heard Diddy rip off The Police's "Every Breath You Take". All he did was change around like two words, and everybody loves it! OMFG! The Police wrote it in the 80s with hard devotion! It was their farewell song basically, and it was huge. And here comes Diddy and ruins it. NOt that the Police are alt rock, nowhere close, just saying that alt. rock is basically dead, along with every other sensibly good genre of music. |

Oh fuck right off you twat.
If you think good music no longer exists it's because you are either too stupid or too lazy to look forward. And as you are on the internet looking for it is not very hard. |

Good Music is still alive today, it's just buried under thousands of so-called "artists" but just keep looking, you'd find it someday.. |

I like AC/DC but think Airbourne stink...it's like they stole all their riffs off 'Flick of the Switch' or 'Fly on the Wall'.
I would like to smack the next person who says there is no good music these days. Their ears must be painted on. |
_____________ The Black Gates- Progressive technical metal The Infidels!- Retro doom funk grindcore The Graveyard Sluts- dirty, slutty rawwwwk Psycopathologist- old school death grind Everyone is entitled to an opinion, it's just that your's is stupid. |
