What would be your dream line up for a band? Any genre is acceptable.

Death Metal
Vocals:Kelly Schaefer (Atheist) SOOOOO SICK
Lead Guitar:Chuck Schuldiner (Death) He has lots of versatility
Rhythm Guitar:Vogg (Decapitated) He makes the sickest rhythms, nice and chunky!
Drums:Vitek (Decapitated) Nice and technical!Versatile too.
Bass:Steve DiGiorgio (Death) Amazing, fast, and accurate

Black Metal:
Vocals:ATILA CSIHAR (Mayhem)
Lead Guitar:Abbath (Immortal) Decent solist for black metal, Isahn is probably better but I love Abbath.
Rhythm Guitar:Satyr(Satyricon) He's a really good session guitarist!
Drums:Frost (Satyricon) He's simply the best at black metal, fast and accurate with literally flawless technique.
Bass:Doesn't matter much but I'll throw in Varg Vikernes just cuz

Punk:
Vocals:Davey Havok AFI 1990-2000, Really versatile back in the day, shouts, screams, and croons!

Bass:Mike Dirnt 1986-2004 (Green Day) when it comes to technical skill in punk bass, he's without a doubt the best.Bass intro to 80, the entire song of Welcome to Paradies with his amazing bass solo,His work on Christie Road, the famous Longview. And then the aggressive lines on Insomniac with Brain Stew/Jaded and Geek Stink Breath.Oh and his bass solo on Stuck with me.He's so overrated but he really is an amazing bassist.

Guitar:This'll be a hard one.Probably Dr.Know from Bad Brains.Fast and at the same time sort of technical?Unheard of in punk be he pulls it off!

Drums:Once again hard, not very many good punk drummers they're pretty cliche.I'll say who ever drummed for the Dead Kennedys on Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables.

Alternative/Rock in general:
Vocals:Maynard James Keenan (Tool) so intense I can;t even describe, he embodies emotions so well!

Guitar:Mark Tremonti (Creed) he's a SHREDDER he's so good, he studied with an amazing guitarist and now his songs are so much better.

Bass:Flea. Duh!

Drums:Dave Grohl with Nirvana. He was pretty good!

That's all I got

Hell yeah Vitek all the way! The thing I love most about him is his blasts. Not the speed because they aren't super fast compared to like Flo Mounier or someone like that but they;re so tight.Even on the first album he has such a warm thick sound and you can her the bassdrum perfectly.

So, you been a muso and all, how do you get a 'warm' sound with drums? Always perplexed me...I can well imagine a 'warm' guitar sound but not drums...

I meant to say more "meaty" because I get his bass is tuned low enough with the right head to give it depth and distinct punch.Mixed with Witold's really snappy snare and decent cymbals just gave the whole blast a really think sound. Also what's a muso?

And to get a "warm" sound, it's I guess punchy but resonant, like a jazz drummer sort of, or Danny Carey from Tool but you don't like tool I assume so that's a bad example.

I can barely think of a warm guitar sound, be definitely warm bass.

Ok well Carey has a warm tom sound, like in his little tribal breakdowns, like in Vicarious.

Would make for a weird band though. Epic galloping progressive blues rock with AOR influences.

If John Bonham was in the Beatles they'd be a lot better, Ringo is one of the most overrated drummers of all time, but it isn't his fault, he's left handed and played on a righty kit which made anything but basic drumming awkward.

In a screamo/metalcore band it would be:

Dennis Shaforostov (Origami) - Guitar/Clean Vocals
Aaron Gillespie (underOATH) - Drums
Brian White (A Skylit Drive) - Bass/Screamed Vocals
Chris Rubey (The Devil Wears Prada) - Guitar
Bradley Bell (Chiodos) - Keyboards

In a death metal/deathcore band, It'd be:

Randy Blythe (Lamb of God) - Growled Vocals
Alexi Laiho (Children of Bodom) - Guitar/Vocals
Brian Eschbach (The Black Dahlia Murder) - Guitar
Evan Brewer (Animosity) - Bass
Joey Jordison (Slipknot) - Drums

Yeah, I'm bored.

Dude I can name so many good Dirnt lines.
All of Kerplunk lol. He pretty much never follows the guitar completely,he'll follow part of the main theme and then just go off and it sounds amazing.Green Day's older material had a lot more bass in it production wise as well.Basically because Billi relied a lot on the lower and midrange frequencies so Mike was the high end and it worked out.I'm the biggest 1986-04 Green Day fall you'll ever meet lol.
