While other rockstars arrange dates for award performances and live a glamourous life, Insolent Paradox has been quiet since the release and tour of Thoughtcrime, only appearing on the Delta Tau Battle of the Bands IV, yet last week an ad, supposedly by guitarist Hector Apreza appeared across several music papers. The ad claimed that Insolent Paradox's guitarist was looking for a bassist and a drummer to start a group, a drone group. Of course it raised controversy, did this meant the split of the band? Were they going on hiatus? Was disco hip again? This week we found Hector Apreza with Insolent Paradox on a garage in a small town in the US Midwest with boxes of eggs in the walls and a computer set up to record. Upon our arrival the group shut down everything and made what seemed to be an attempt to run, but they were surrounded by our assault team, so we got to ask him a few questions:
Is it true you're founding a drone group? Yes, in fact create some fuzz about it could you? or I will, hey I need a bassist and a drummer, so sign up.. please, please, please, please.
Uhmm, right.. So, where have you been, what's with all the mystery? What has the band been doing? Recording. An album. As Insolent Paradox.
Is disco hip again? Uhm.. no.
Can you give us some details on your album? Well, it's a... OH MY GOD!! There's a pink.... giant... squirrel.. type of... thing, OVER THERE!!
And he ran away.
Anyway he seems as a nice folk so here we are trying to create some fuzz about it. So the band's not splitting, or going on hiatus, and sadly disco's not hip again. |

Me and Baph would love to join up for a drone project. I've been a bit of a workaholic recently, working on a new Sudan album, playing bass on the new Sisyphean album (which isn't done, but sound so incredible, like if cavemen discovered world music and black metal! Ah, I love it!), the still-secret project between us and the guys in the Black Gates, and stuff like that. This sounds right up our alley and is totally different from the stuff Baph and me normally work on. We've done lots of post-metal and doomy stuff before, so it isn't foreign.
Granted, some of these other guys seem a bit more interesting, considering they come from far outside the field. They might bring something cool to the table. Glad to hear Insolent Paradox is still running! Thrash for life, thrash till death!
