I find it the other way round. Not that I'm competent at either instrument, but no finger pain on bass at all, but on guitar, on those top two unwound strings... Ow.

There is that from the cutting in of the high strings. But the bass pain came from just how heavy the strings are, it was more a dull pain from having to press harder than usual.
