Also, I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not converting Youtube videos to MP3's is actually illegal? I looked it up and apparently its only illegal if the band or artist (or the copyright owner) was the one who actually posted it, yet if someone else just posts it, who doesn't own the copyright, it is legal to convert it. Also, even if it is illegal, would it be easy to trace that I've been using it, like would I realistically ever get caught for doing it? Or are you as likely to get caught using it as you are using something like Limewire.

I think it's illegal unless otherwise stated. But, considering you're probably talking about recording audio directly out of the output, the only way anyone is going to catch you doing this is if they're watching you do it. It's like taping off the radio, except even shittier quality than that.

That's because it's actually me with my binding on and that's why I love the pic so much. :P (He must be cold. Or turned on.)

Na I'm not physically recording it with an actual recorder if that's what your saying, it's a website where you basically put the youtube address into it and it converts the audio from the video into MP3 format.

Your are the only responsible for the data which it sends to Video2mp3 servers. One is reminded that the illicit exchanges of recordings and protected works as well as the hacking harm artistic creation. One is reminded that also non the respect of the laws in force, in particular those concerning the respect of the intellectual and artistic property, can give place to continuations and judgments. Any failure or complaint of having rights will irremediable involve the removal of the files in question.
You agree to not use Video2mp3 services to upload any content that spreads messages of terror or depicts torture or death-gui; harm minors in any way, this includes any form of child pornography; if serious enough, the content will be reported to the appropriate legal authority and/or the members ISP will be contacted.
You agree to not use Video2mp3 services to upload any content that infringes any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright or other proprietary rights of any party.

implies it is illegal but the responsibilities lie with you not them.

Ah okay, but is it really that likely that I'd get done for it ? I understand it's not particularly likely anyway but still my mate got a letter sent to him the other day for downloading like five songs, which has kind of made me a bit paranoid about the whole thing. I only wanted to use it really to download some mainstream stuff, I wouldn't use it to download anything other than like Kanye West and Oasis. Not that that makes it better, but it helps my conscience a bit :P

You are probably less likely to get done than you would be for downloading stuff from Rapidshare & Mediafire. Which being honest isn't that likely as things stand.

Oh and Paul, did you phone the dole office and tell them you can't go in tomorrow? Or do I expect you back today? Just wondering.

A bit too.... melodic? (I know, coming from an ex-metalcore enthusiast, crazy, right?) Just isn't my personal favorite, but in all honesty I'm not a huge BM fan.

on the youtube downloading topic:

i use youtube downloader for my needs on this front.according to the program's faq:

Q. I can download the video file into my computer, is legal?
A. Yes, when you watch a video in flash from a website (like YouTube) the video is downloaded into your computer, in the folder "Temporary Internet Files" of your browser. The program does the same thing, allowing you to select the destination folder. This means that the file is saved on your computer while you watch the video and there remains until you do not delete.

i'm not sure if this is worth more than the pixels it's written on as far as legality goes...but i've yet to encounter a problem.

Thanks to everyone who answered my question, tis helped a lot.

In other news, I cannot remember what happened last night. I think I may have confessed to my best friend that I'm in love with her, and I am now awaiting the most likely awful consequences of these immature, drunken actions. Woops.
