i think they are legalising discrimiation and racism, while shafting their economy at the same time. |
I hate it when people see me at the supermarket and they are like: Hey, what are you doing here? and im just like: Oh you know, hunting elephants |

it seems to be a reaction to having Obamama as president. If a black man can be president, the others may get ideas too! Mexicans may want to be treated as human beings now; fair pay etc. ID cards and random stops; sounds a bit like the UK if we're not careful. |

Boy, Arizona is hilarious. They're literally enacting the same restrictions imposed upon ex-Black slaves. If I read this correctly, if you look "reasonably suspicious", you HAVE to carry ID and the police HAVE to ask you for it, and if they don't people can SUE THE POLICE... |

Does anyone fancy going to Arizona and looking 'Reasonably suspicious'? or do I just like picking fights with idiots? |

I don't think it's THAT bad, however where you distinguish between reasonably suspicious and fine is the difficult bit. Looks a bit too easy to be abused to me. |

That's exactly the problem: "reasonably suspicious" is extremely ill defined. Reasonable and suspicion are both entirely subjective, and giving citizens direct influence in police affairs is a very slippery slope. |

Honestly though, it's hard to give an opinion on this based on a couple of news articles. I'll reserve my judgement until I read the actual law.

It's awful, America has always been a racist country but at least people tried to cover it up. now they're justifying racism, it's just horrible.I saw a commercial for someone running for governor in Alabama who says in his video "If you come to our country you better learn English, our driving exams will only be in English and hopefully other things too if I'm president" as if my country didn't look bad enough already. |

Many of you may be shocked to hear this from me. But I sort of understand why the law is being put. However at the same time I don't agree with it. There are many "Immigrant looking" people (Which by the way i find that mean for them to say) and the reason they look "Poor" (which is what they are basically trying to say), is because they don't have money. Because these American bastards don't pay them enough even though they are doing the hard work. Yet they are legal and they have to put up with being arrested, slammed against a car, just because these bastards find them suspicious. That is racist. Edited by user 30 April 2010 08:21:22(UTC)

The law basicly consists on: Jail for not carrying registration documents; allows officers to arrest immigrants unable to show documents proving their legal residence; allow people to sue if they feel a government agency has not been getting all of em filthy guatemalan mexicans; all the people that stand on corners and get picked up by people to do any job and anyone knowingly transporting illegal immigrants will also get punished by the strong arm of the law. And in Arizona reasonably suspicious would be anyone who's latin or arab. Edited by user 30 April 2010 10:09:13(UTC)

You don't even know what ignorant means Steph, it doesn't mean stupid. And Paradox is right,Arabs and Latinos are going to be persecuted even more because of the bill. |

I thought that you were reflecting off of it. If the law says that in exact words. Then that governor (woman) is ignorant.
