I mean I know you hate being Scottish but the Scots language is as much "mispelt English" as German is. |

I mean I know you hate being Scottish but the Scots language is as much "mispelt English" as German is. Modern Scots is just a twee touristy bastardisation of English. Not that I like proper Scots or anything, but man, To me it's all "Och Aye the noo! Ah, be takkit me wee beastie fer a wak in the mern..." or something to that effect. And don't try and tell me that's my heritage, because I don't speak it and nobody in my entire family speaks it except you, and you only do it very occasionally for about a sentence. And when you do you sound like you're someone who isn't Scottish, doing a bad impression of a Scot, with that broken staccato delivery. Edited by user 05 May 2010 12:29:48(UTC)

And when you do you sound like you're someone who isn't Scottish, doing a bad impression of a Scot, with that broken staccato delivery. It isn't the heritage of either you or me. When I do it I'm generally taking the piss, I'm from the Highlands for fucksake. You are also a teuchter/sheep fucker just like me (terms seem to be interchangable). That hardly renders the language "a touristy bastardisation of English", it dates back at least as far Burns, if not further (fucked if I know, I'm hardly an expert). But just because it is not your heritage does not mean it is not a perfectly acceptable dialect, especially in the south-west of the country. |

Too much leather chair is unsightly and greatly increases your risk of leather-smell. |
