Wow. Long time, no update. We're going to supply you with a few teasers for The Aeronaut here. It'll probably leak in a couple of weeks anyway...
A soundcheck of a song we're working on.
...And since it will get leaked, here's another song. We're going to miox the vocals better so it sounds more like black metal, but this is a rough prototype of Eve: In the Realms of Hallows

Mind = Awesome geek metal.

As we ready the release of our metal "masterpiece" The Aeronaut, here's a little timeline of Mind we're going to do.

In our hardcore punk days, circa 2005. The picture was taken with a shabby camera, during a proto-music video.:
UserPostedImage

Still hardcore punk here, just with unusual hair, circa 2007:

...And then we saw the error of our ways and became metal, circa 2007:
UserPostedImage

Now in 2008, we develop even further, by giving out more demos and Robert also balds early. He's only 19 here, god sake.:

Our 2009 breakthrough:

We've got a ton of news for you. First off, congratulations to Blood of Wecz and Reckoner for being in the final two of the Delta Tau Battle of the Bands! We finished a respectable third place though, thank you very much.
Secondly, we know the wait in between albums can be long and tedious, so we'll be releasing a couple of EPs to make it go a bit faster, not related to the concept of the albums. They will not be played live, since they are just EPs. The first EP will be called the Gaia EP and here's one of the songs so far, called Flawed Logic. It's a sexy instrumental. The whole theme of the album is one of flora, fauna and destruction. While it'll be our most progressive work ever, it has elements of chaos in it. We're not bible-bashing or being tree huggers, but it's an interesting concept of stewardship. We're not religious people really.

Here's the track listing (OOC: I won't properly roleplay the tracks, just very brief descriptions):

Gaia EP

1. Terra
The first track, Terra, is a basic progressive/ alternative metal combo, like Mastodon or Tool. The drums pummel away, as if tribal, while the hushed singing is making way for deep riffs. It's a long song, clocking in at just over 6 minutes.

2. The Sorrowful Mana
Although it sounds like it's just came out of a very, very bad video game, this song is not that bad. It's reminiscent of Dream Theatre at times, although the folk melodies and screaming make brief appearances as well. It's the only song on the EP to have relevance to the main concept of the albums, since the riff from The Juggernaut appears at the end.

3 Flawed Logic
You've heard it, no explanation need, right?

4. Awakenings (Symphony X cover)
A cover of one of the all time great prog metal songs. Though the lyrics bare no reference to anything on here, the music fits in perfectly..

5. Gaudete (Traditional)
A traditional latin song to make the tension increase. The tune is also played on guitar, rather than just being accapello (or however you spell it)

6. Rune
It ends with another badly titled, yet technical affair. This is the heaviest song on the album by miles. Although in the epic 9 minutes it plays for it has outbursts of beautiful musicianship, the roars from Jason and the bursts of downtuned heaviness from Aaron make the song a particular highlight.

'Aight? Fair enough. A few smidgets of news for you today. Various clues have been released and, yes, Jason Smith will be making a side project. Don't worry though, Mind will still be touring and recording like usual. Oh yeah, we've also signed up for Gorefest 2010. The Black Gold Reign co-headline tour is going immense, the crowds in the Americas have been awesome, we'll come back here regularly. As well as tour dates, look out for dates with another big, big band... to be announced soon. Just a little update, hope it refreshes all you Mind fans out there, whoever you are... see ya later.

Laying down some exciting riffs and jamming at the mo. We now have enough material for about two albums, but we'll probably filter it all out. And we can confirm, yes, we are headlining the Underground Sound festival, playing as Meshuggah. Just a quickie, see you soon.

Hello, glorious Mind fans. First off, Jason will be appearing in the very awesome Road to Joy TV Programme, along with many other famous faces. A few friends are going in aswell as that Alex P dude. Secondly, whilst this is happening, Aaron will be temp guitaring for Reckoner. since JC will also be frolicking in the house alongside Jason. Don't worry if you haven't had your full fill of Mind though, we'll give you a few titles we're working on for The Cosmonaut.

Requiem for the Blackened Wings
Armageddon: Day of Salvation
The Juggernaut Returns

Badass, are they not? See you later.

Hooray, Jason's back. The Road to Joy thing sorta collapsed, but nevermind. It'll allow Mind to do even MOAR performances now.

Also... actually, taht's all there is at the mo. We'll be laying down more chunky riffs and experimenting with new instruments soon as well, to make the next one truly experimental. Jason wrote a song with JC from Reckoner in there, which could make the next album, it sounds awesome.

See ya soon.

Since every other bastard's doing it, we're releasing an official custom Mind guitar. After touring with Blood of Wecz and Chimera, we will be releasing it for a very expens- uhhh.... reasonable price. It's the true collectors item. I know what you'll say "Why, that's a lot of money for a guitar with a few logos on it" and you're probably right. But we like dicking you out of money, heh heh >:D I think you'll agree that ours is OF COURSE the best.

...And also, we have a rare early tour poster from our FIRST headlining tour with Reckoner. This was ages ago and since then a lot of things have happened to make both bands much more well known, so we thought we'd give you new fans a little taster. You can buy this from the "shop" section.

Glad to hear it, man!

Anyway, a quick update to let you fans know that we're still alive and practicing out a couple of riffs that we gonna put on the next album. We've got a couple of real corkers here, as well as that jam that Jason did with JC Anderson. You'll be able to find taht on YouTube or something if you haven't heard it. We'll see you soon.

A New Era

Announcements coming soon...

We won't give you many more clues as to what it is, but it'll represent us as a band, that's for certain... it's a new era of many things. It's an era of Mind.

Aside fom that, BRILLIANT NEWS as Harry Thornton, our well loved bassist, has been cleared in his trial and can now play for us again. We want to give a huge thanks to David Demmel for helping us out here, and for all of the support of our peers. Thanks guys.
