Makes perfect sense to me. Should help cut down on pre-owned games, or at least make them slightly cheaper. Sorry but if the price difference between a new and a 2nd hand game is £5 I'll probably get the new one. At least that way a bit of your money is going to the people who made the damn thing.

Yea a lot of people I have talked to are pretty pissed about it. I hear a bunch of people whining that it violates first sale doctrine because the bonus content can't be sold or that EA is intentionally releasing games that aren't complete if you buy them used. I just don't see how either of those make sense. The content is not being sold with the game, it is a bonus on top of the game, and you can't sell any other DLC anyway. Also, as of right now the content is all optional. It isn't like they are making a game where the last act is only available if you buy new.

People have this thing about needing to own every last piece of content, hence people buying multiple copies of games to get all the preorder stuff, then complaining because they can't take helmets off armour and stuff (ME2 - fair complaint really), and because they "had" to buy all these multiple versions. I got the Digital Deluxe of ME2, I was happy with my bonuses, I wore the Collector armour throughout the first playthrough, but am I pissed I missed out on some other set of armour, some other pre-order weapon? No, not at all.

I guess this whole DLC thing still hasn't matured so people don't have that mindset that it's additional content on top of, and not vital to, their enjoyment of the game. I still remember Oblivion's horse armour DLC which was some ridiculous price for something entirely superfluous. So we've gotten past that part at least.

The other thing that people can't seem to understand about game development and DLC is Day 1 DLC. People always complain about that and it is always the same reason, "if they can release it on launch day they could have included it on the disc. They are just trying to take my money." While I won't argue that they do want your money getting a game ready for retail is a long process. Without knowing any concrete numbers I would imagine to get your game through QA and testing, get the discs pressed, get them shipped, and getting the game through certification from each of the major consoles takes at least 6 months. During that 6 months you really don't have time to add anything, you can just fix errors that come up. Sometimes, sure its stuff they took off the disc to sell for a few extra bucks or they planned to use it as a bonus for preoders, buying new and so on. I bet though that there are still a lot of cases where it was just something that happened because of the time crunch to release a new retail game.

Yeah exactly. Plus, even before a game goes gold, they usually splinter off smaller groups to build the DLC. For one thing, if you're building a DLC system, you have to build stuff to test it with, so you're going to be working on stuff before launch anyway.

Well yes, the way to fix it is to connect it to Xbox Live. Bingo bongo.

So I am a journalism student and as such I have a few blogs where I like to write so I can have ample samples (lolz) to choose from. I wrote this yesterday after conducting an interview with a leading authority on storytelling in games and just wanted to get it out there and get some feedback.

i now have ME2 and have finished it once..... i thought it was a lot easier and shorter than the first one, but still fun.

You are either thinking of its predecessor, Red Dead Revolver, or another western game called Gun but this game...if you like westerns, or cowboys in any way, you will love this game. If you like GTA 4 you will love this game. If you like both like myself, then this will be your favorite game of all time.

AMAZING game. I do hope you got the complete edition with all the expansions. I'd also recommend hunting out the Whole World Mod, because well, there's no more Terra Incognito in the middle of South Africa, which has allowed my Incan Empire to expand to engulf the entire continent of South America up to the real-life Mexico/US border.

Also, Red Dead Redemption is a fucking gorgeous looking game, and running off the edge of a cliff with your horse is hilarious. As is killing a developer on XBL with a throwing knife!

The latest Whole World mod update is here: http://www.filefront.com...45807/WWMv4.01Setup.exe/

Various other mods here: http://forum.paradoxplaz...m/forumdisplay.php?f=323 on the official forum.

When you say up to Heir to the Throne, do you mean including that? Make sure you patch it first from the launcher.

I'm a Paradox games fanboy, I have EU: Rome, Crusader Kings, EU2, EU3, Hearts of Iron 2, Hearts of Iron 3 (not really played it much though, it's kinda too indepth for my poor wee brain to cope with!) and Victoria, plus various expansions.

RDR is fun, though it was just a bit annoying when I accidentally stole someones horse because I forgot it was mine and suddenly I had a bounty on my head of $120 and only had $32 cash :(
