I read on Metalhammer that he was found dead in his Iowa hotel room. He was found at 10:50 am this morning. They have no clue how it happened. He was only 38.

Another one? Fucking hell! Slipknot were never my cup of tea, but I appreciate all that people do for music, and Slipknot helped build a bridge between the mainstream and metal....RIP Paul Gray

I'm still in shock about the tragic passing. Just a week after we lost Dio. First Peter Steele, then Dio and now Paul Gray. Bret Michael's life was put at risk twice! 2010 can be considered the year of death for Metal.

It is the most catastrophic year for metal, I hope that the rest of all the metal gods are ok and have many more years then Paul Gray! Because another loss will be a serious disaster for metal

Eh? Disaster? Gods? Catastrophic? Lay off the hyperbole pal.

Anyway, like Gildermershina I used to be a really big Slipknot fan.

Unlike him I'm completely unfazed by this. I wouldn't have commented in this thread at all if not for my love of ridiculous exaggeration

Dimebag and Chick Schuldiner clearly get the nod on guitar, even if they did die a while back

Well, Bill from Mastodon was just diagnosed with pancreatitis, so we may have a solution to guitar issue shortly.

Yeah, they cancelled all their European festival dates this summer, he's also struggling with alcoholism and being out on the road is not helping that.

lol, of course. It was a sad day. I used to love Pantera, and I remember how horrific it was. I was like 15, and my mate told me he had been shot. I just told him to "fuck off" and laughed it off. How sad I was when I found out it was true, was properly gutted!

Oh God, that was such a fucking irritating day.

People managed to spend the next 2 or 3 years still bleating on about him. Sure, it was unfortunate and blah blah blah but fuck off, I'm watching Metallica play Orion, I don't need you shouting about Deadbag so please fucking shut up.
