Well this is lovely. My ex-fiancé, the one who looks like Conor Oberst and sings like Lewis Mason, is sleeping over (as friend of brother).
Problems -
* He turned up at the door. No notice given to me, just turned up. I should know about these things so that I can prepare.
* He still looks like Conor Oberst. I look like a cheap whore with a burnt leg and bad hair.
* I always act like an arsehole in front of him, no matter what, I'll find a way.
* He hasn't been in this house without having sex since 2003. Hmm, why break a tradition .... but I don't think he'd appreciate a quick screw.
* The worst part? I really, really care what he thinks of me, and so far, it's not looking good. I'm wondering what attracted him to me in the first place.

South Africa v Mexico was a great game in the WC today, Uruguay v France was disappointing. Luckily both of my home countries are playing tomorrow! Sadly they'll both lose (I actually don't care if the US loses but Nigeria is playing Argentina for fucks sake!)

Wrote some gibberish earlier as a template for some music I am working on. Needs some fine tuning.

I climbed to meet the morning
Wading out into a shallow pool
And as I turned my eyes upward
The voice attesting to the air the pitcher plant is breathing
And begging me to acquiesce
The afternoon aglow came tumbling down the stairs
Towards the evening below

My hands were dripping red, of you
Across the concrete by the pond, a view
The solemn trees held their counsel there
Quietly as ever whispering their disapproval
To the magpie and the moorhen
Though the fox courting pigeons by the gate
Remained evidentially unaware

The water had ceased flowing
And held its breath in shock
Counting back and forth across time
The sundial slowly melted into the soil
The solar barge had sunk but was replaced by
A consignment of temple lanterns
Carried in a caravel upon the surface of the sky

Lo, the toothless, eyeless spider
With her myriad wiry hands
Was spinning a thread to bind me
Blindly pedalling the antique loom
In her still unlit room
Metaghehimna, wretched crone
Harbinger and prophet, of my ruin

Fucking green mice. They had just about 416 billion opportunities to score. Luckily the referee wasnt as biased as I thought it would be. And also, that ball bounces too much, there was quite a few times when players from both South Africa and Mexico were waiting for the ball and it went right over their heads. And I see a chance of Nigeria at least getting one point from Argentina if they neutralise Messi, which is what I think they'll be aiming to do.

watching the England match is making me really miss playing football. I used to play pretty much everyday but I haven't played for a couple of years, I'm thinking about joining my local sunday league side. It's a shame not many people just have a kick around with their friends anymore.

They may have drawn, but it feels like they won - at least their keeper can do his job right.

What a great result. Quite proud right now.

Nah, fuck the football, Scotland went to Argentina and beat the home side 24-16! Amazing result, even if the only one on here who'll care is Rince.

I hear you on that one dude! Was gutted on Wednesday night, but I think the Hawks were just better on the night. The forechecking in the first two periods especially from Toews, Hosa and Sharp was just too good. (although that cunt should not have won the Conn Smythe, no goals in the final...WTF?)

I think what really lost it for us was game 5 though. Pronger was really not at the races and let that Byfuglien get the better of him too often (Pronger on a minus 5 is just unheard of). Also, Laviolette should have changed to a shorter bench sooner. I don't think that Betts, Krajicek and Bartulis are good enough. Asham some times, but not enough, same goes for Carcillo, JVR and Laperierre.

I think also the first line had to show up, and they didn't. Gagne - not bad, Carter - Fail, Richards - fail
laid it all on the second and third lines, and whilst Giroux, Briere and Leino were fantastic, they need backup from what is supposed to be the scoring line. Finally of course, I'm reluctant to criticise after his heroics in the Bruins and Habs series, but Michael Leighton made some big errors. Goal 2 on Wed and the goal Eager scored in game two spring to mind clearest.

However, it was a fantastic season for the guys all round, and if he can hang on to the core and build on it, then you never know...
