Herr Fische have annoucned that they are recording a new album and have also confirmed a handful of tour dates. The news comes a few weeks after the band returned from yet another ‘unforseen hiatus’, causing rumours of a serious rift within the band ranks. Speaking recently, guitarist Kii Kii Lii stated that “Every band has its problems; it’s just that we have a lot more than others!” She went on to say “We have overcome so many issues with each other and with ourselves that it’s a miracle we are still friends and still wanting to record and tour for the fans. We’re all ok now so guys Therapy does work!” Band leaders Chris and Paul Fisher confirmed that the band are “in the early stages of recording” a new album. “Our usual fans will love the new sound” stated keyboardist Paul ‘Foetus’ Fisher “but we also want to reach out to new fans so this album will sound more commercial, more pop than usual.” Vocalist Chris adds “That might come as a shock to fans of our experimental approach to music. We don’t want to alienate those that have stood by us and bought our albums and singles, whether in the old era or the present era. However, we have never done a pop record and I think it’s about time we did. Of course we will add some Herr Fische magic to it so it’s not all bad!” The band has also announced a short U.K tour, with some outdoor gigs announced. The band will start their tour right after their appearances at the Cure for Cancer Festival on 18th and 19th July. The band is stopping at some unusual places such as Stonehenge and a Floating Stage in the Marina of their hometown of Hartlepool. “Stonehenge was an absolute bitch to secure and we still can’t play in it as we planned but it’s close enough!” added Chris. “As for the floating stage, who knows what will happen!” The band is also honoured to be playing the Cure for Cancer Festival, promising to “Kick cancer’s arse”. The new tour dates, including some outdoor gigs are below. Tickets are available through all good stockists and will cost £10. All profits will be donated to the Cure for Cancer festival fund.

As for playing on the Tyne Bridge, it took a lot of persuation as it is one of the main routes/roads into Newcastle and Gateshead. We will be playing on the bridge and hoepfully won't cause too much hassle. There will be raised barriers to prevent any 'bridge diving' incidents or accidents. We thought it would be a great place to play and yeah it is different. I think it adds another visual element to the the show with the stunning views across the Tyne. We always try to have a visual element in our live performances. It will be fun, as will the floating stage at Hartlepool Marina which I am really looking forward to, although if it pisses it down then we may have a problem. I can see at least one of us taking a dive that's for sure!!! |
