Is like trying to make The US National Anthem into a rap song. Metal versions of pop songs are invariably cringe worthy and I do my best to avoid them. Remember about 5 years ago some friends were obsessed with Children of Bodom's cover of Hit Me Baby One More Time. Utterly atrocious cover, I really don't like novelty music. But to be fair, I don't think a hip-hop version of the US national anthem would neccessarily be bad. A) National anthems are universally shit, drab and dull. B) Listen to what Hendrix did with it, turning it into a rockin' tune while the oldies bitched and moaned about how outrageous an act it was. There's plenty talented artists who could do something interesting with Star Spangled Banner if they were brave enough to risk and initial backlash. |

To be honest, I would hate it, maybe because it's hard for me to see things go 180. But let's say 50 Cent took the national anthem and turned it into rap. Would you like it? Well maybe if someone like 2 Pac had did it, it would be more acceptable, that's the only exception I have for mainstream rappers.

Oh yeah, if someone like Fiddy or Lil' Wayne or some fucking hack like that did it then it would be almost certainly horrid. I'm nore thinking of hip-hop artists who are significantly less artistic voids, De La Soul maybe could do something fun with it for instance. I'd totally go for a Dälek version myself, but I can't imagine you digging that quite so much! |

Why do they have to be black? Why can't they be any race? Because black people stereotypically have bigger cocks, which would make the raping even more unpleasant. |

It has more to do with the fact that I'm rather fond of the original (by THIN LIZZY), so it kind of hurts to see one of my all time favorite songs featured in a retarded Idols/American Idol/whatever knockoff. It's Idol shite. Just goes without saying that they'll end up butchering good tracks. But yeah, this guy, he's certainly no fucking Phil Lynott. |

Buddy Rich - Norwegian Wood
From 1973's Parkinson show. Kinda odd nod hearing the sitar in what may well be my favourite Beatles track, but it is a very cool jazzed up version of the song. And you know that Buddy Rich is a more interesting drummer than poor ol' maligned Ringo. |

If Bob Marley's instrumentals,Eminem's flow, and Immortal Technique's lyrics fucked then this would be the outcome.
