It is with desperate sadness that we announce today the deaths of Leo Benson, Harry Dagger, and Tiny Tommy Tinison (Rhythm guitar, bass and drums) of Failed Youth. There were three other casualties in the crash, however the families wish for their identities to remain concealed. Leo, Harry and Tommy all fought hard battles against their injuries, but eventually the injuries were simply too great. All died in hospital with their families with them.

Billy Jacobs, vocalist of the band is still alive but in a critical situation, and has sustained serious injuries to his spinal cord. He has undergone three surgeries since the accident, each with varying degrees of success. Doctors have reported he'll still need more if they are to save him from becoming quadriplegic, however it is almost impossible that he will regain use of his lower limbs and it is looking doubtful he will ever regain use of his upper body. Early scans for brain damage look promising, however some damage has been done and it is uncertain to what degree this will affect him when he is concious. Currently he is in a controlled pharmaceutical induced coma to save him from experiencing the agonising pain he would be experiencing if he was concious. More news should follow soon.

An update on the condition of Billy Jacobs:

Hello everyone, currently I am concious but in a lot of fucking pain. Almost too much to bear. They've put me on a lot of drugs, so right now I'm feeling pretty trippy as I'm writing it. S'good. I'm not complaining. However the one reason I am not giving up, is the deaths of my closest friends. The pain of that is far greater than anything I am experiencing right now. Doctor's have said I will require the use of a wheelchair for the rest of my life. No way back. Done. If the three had survived, I may not wish to live that life, wheelchair bound. I don't see how I can do what I do best within those constraints. However, I am not going to waste whatever chance I've been given - by god or otherwise. Whatever it us up there, it want's me to stay alive. So fair play to him, and I'll do my best. Right now I'm not quite sure what I'm feeling. One of my closest friends, Jakey Comatose, has only recently been diagnosed with leukaemia, that hit hard. A man who was like a brother to me, Jack, recently took his life over something that I cannot help but feel guilty over. Though Jack had gone long before he killed himself, and the thing that was left was in no way the man I used to know. And now this. I don't know why it's all happening so quickly, it's like fate or something. Still, it will make for a pretty good autobiography. Or maybe a film.

Right now the sadness I am feeling is probably the lowest I've ever been. It feels like I'm alone in this world. At least it did, until I realised I have you guys. All the amazing comments and wishes of good health have made me feel the tiniest bit alive. So thank you, all, so very fucking much for being the people that I want to live the rest of my life with, and no stupid wheelchairs going to stop me doing that.
