The Truth I Couldn't Bare - Jack takes the vocal reigns on the opening track and his voice is soft but gruff throughout. He sings of a lover he did wrong but how he lied to himself his entire life only to find she knew in a letter she left when she died. In the end the singer commits suicide of the mind. The song is accompanied only by Johnnies guitar.
Where's My Piece of the Sky? - Johnny sings this one. The lyrics are about a pilot who wrecks over the ocean but survives. He swims for 3 days but eventually drowns as no one care enough to start a search party. Loneliness and emptiness rule the emotion. Jack and Johnny both add guitars to this tune. Both play acoustics.
A Reason to Fight (Self Inflicted Lies) - Jack and Johnny take turns on this one between choruses. The song plays out in upbeat manner about a cowboy who fights his way to his own house to save his family but upon untying them he and his family are shot by the last outlaw alive. This one has drums and guitar though the drums are subtle they play along with the gunshots.
Suitable Romance (is for the Damned) - Johnny sings this one alone with his guitar. Speaking of the hurt in his life and the women who had done him wrong and how his heart was doomed to suffer until a girl arrived who changed his life just before the brink of despair was reached. She pulled him back.
Death is Temporary (Life is Forever) - Jack sings this one and sings of his faith in Christ but how this can sometimes be questioned by the ache that is felt in life. Friends lost, loves torn apart, dreams slashed but life goes on and we will be rewarded. Jack plays guitar alone for musical backing.
A Dead Mans Suit - Jack sings this one as well with a deep and brooding manner. The song has no instrumental accompaniment. The lyrics are about a man and the way he raises his son to be a respectable man until the son shoots him for not letting him be himself.
Golden Leaves - Johnny and Jack sing together on this one about happiness. The background is a working of soft classical guitar. The lyrics sing of how happiness lifts a person soul and can fool them into thinking the world is a golden land of bliss. But gold is vanity as is happiness.
Sea-biscuit - The man who faces struggle also is rewarded. Thus is the story of Sea-biscuit and the story of Jacks life. Though Johnny sings this one it is him admiring a horse who pushes through whatever obstacles that come his way and it is alluded that Jack is the horse. Jack plays acoustic guitar in a very soft rock manner here.
The Devil Cant Sing (and My Soul Wouldn't Listen) - Life can present us false opportunities that could corrupts us beyond saving but we have the choice to turn our heads and listen only to the light. The lyrics of this one speak of temptation, drugs, sex and violence. How can we live strait with such temptation? The song is accompanied by John and Jacks guitars which trade each verse.
Stardust - Life can be hard but look to the stars and you can help but feel a relief wash over you. The world isn't so bad, its a matter of how you handle yourself. You could give up but the stars always shine so why shouldn't you? This song is more upbeat and is sung by both Johnny and Jack. Music is bare-bones but inspirational.
The album will be released today. John and Jack have remained suspiciously quiet and have not been available for interviews nor have they played a live show in months.
