Im in love with their new record The Suburbs! It's a little more assertive and confident than Neon Bible, and i think that's a great step forward, especially with Neon Bible having been a great record. It's an amazing record. My favorite song would have to be "We Used To Wait", with the two runner ups being "Month of May" and "Ready To Start", even if the latter was the hit single. It wasn't overplayed so it's still infectiously delicious, as is the entire album as a whole. However, i read a critic's response to the record, who stated the album was the new OK Computer, only better. Idk bout that. The Suburbs is a great album, but Radiohead just capture their eneregy in such more vivid and enigmatic-almost ways. With radiohead u had Thom Yorke, who's his own singer. Arcade Fire's Winn Butler doesn't have that. Plus, Radiohead present more diversity in emotions in comparison to Arcade Fire, although both have plenty more than the average band. But those are my thoughts. Still, love Arcade Fire. Do you think that critic's statement is in anyway right?

I haven't taken the time to listen to them yet, I don't want to be dissapointed because they seem to have so much hype around them, I will eventually listen to them, I think.

liked the first album, nothing since then has really grabbed me.... putting them on a pedestal with Radiohead is going way too far imo
I hate it when people see me at the supermarket and they are like:
Hey, what are you doing here?
and im just like:
Oh you know, hunting elephants

I wish I could. They're playing a show here later this month but I don't think I'll be able to make it. But they're definitely on my list of bands to see live before I die.

Arcade Fire are peripherally related to the Constellation records roster, but they're more diluted and accessible, so I don't really like them.

"sprawl II" is a great song, but other than that i find them really really boring

win butler's also a bit too douchey for my taste.

Arcade Fire are one of those bands on my "must-listen-to" list. At some point in the future I'm sure i'll actually give them a listen.
