Michelle Green wrote:Bside: Piano Song Released: September 18th, 2010 Label: Junction Records Genre: Folk, Alternative, Indie Pop Just when fans started to worry about when we were going to hear Michelle Green release another song onto the radio after her short vacation from the industry although we didn't lose Michelle's presence fully because she was featured on two amazing tracks both released by Matty and featured on the album of rock bad girl, Stacey Walton. This time its Michelle turns as she picks up right where her U.K hit single "Fifteen" left off : powerful and intense. This time her new single "Dark Days" lets us in on a more edgier and alternative-eque Green. She leaves us with something strong, dark and we cannot forget her menacing voice that never gets old once we hear her sing. The track never loses its Folk roots, but this time it incorporates the bass guitar, guitar and of course the drums that were ever so empowering in Fifteen. The songs beat is a little quick, but then again Michelle is singing quite laid back( St5ill powerful) and doesn't let us in on a vocal belt until the end of each chorus and a humongous ending belt that almost makes the listener want to play it over and over again, which I like because it gives a listener something to look forward to as it can become bland having a singer belt her way throughout an entire song, so it was nice to here her sing a bit soft and powerful at the same time but to end it off loud and intense. In the end, we may even be convinced that this song will be a bigger hit than Fifteen, we would like to call it, the perfect 2nd single - capitalizing off the empowering and success of the first single and giving something short, sweet, different, consistent as well as equally addicting as the 1st for the second single.
Quote:Dark Days is about the most darkest times in peoples lives which in the end, it turns light, better things will happen. So I kinda inspired people who listen to the song going through problems to be strong, and that things will get better eventually and to just..just...be strong! Dark days are times after a death, a breakup, money problems, sickness anything having to do with the hardest point in anyone's life. I wrote this song with my father thinking about a very hard time in my life which was when my mother passed away. It was dark for all of us. I was young, but I can still remember the day everything happened. I mean, I may be 15 but I know what it feels like to have Dark Days. I eventually held on and stayed strong and now I know my mom would be so proud of me if she was here, and that's all I want, that's why I'm okay right now in my life, I'm loving life. Although the hurt and yearning will always be there, i feel comfortable right now. So when I wrote this song the emotion in the song even surprised me. I couldn't believe I dug in so deep. I personally love the song and its different, which is always good. We are once again impressed by the ever so talented, and lovely Michelle Green. Some will want to figure out what she has next with all of this talent but what we can see, is that Ms. Green has so much to offer as a singer and being so young. Another great song in the books. Sounds Like
