got a virus on my computer that means i basicly had to re-format my hard drive and loose everything i had on there *cries*
so all my films, pictures, game progress gone.. Luckily i had all my music backed up on an external hard drive so its not been a total loss....
anyway, i now have windows 7 as a way of making me feel better, and i do like it a lot, its like ive got a brand new computer now i don't have Vista hogging all the RAM.. and only my main point.... am reloading games onto it and have discovered some classic games ive not played in ages... mainly sins of a solar empire... a truely fantastic game, with brilliant aims and freeware ambitions for it as well...
whch has got me thinking... Does anyone know of any good mods or fun add on's for games? Obviously games like Europa universalis 3 is more prone to modding than total war (and ive just got total war napoleon as well, which is possibly the best of the recent batch as it brings battles back into it and scraps a lot of seiges, making it more fun).
oh also has anyone seen my copy of mass effect as ive lot it. |

The moral of the story is...dont download porn.
Sad to hear about losing all your stuff, I am paranoid about losing my pictures and stuff. My PC just died and luckily it's just the boot files that are stuffed and not the whole thing so I can retrieve everything.
I am getting a RAM upgrade so hopefully I will be able to crank out Empire Total War properly. When you say 'more prone to modding' do you mean that it's easier to upgrade than the Total War series? There are some very good mods floating around, dunno about EU3 |

no porn involved..... was a music file someone sent me over facebook...
just general mods that are fun.... not used any total war mods ever, EU3 mods ive got are the whole world and the mundai one which combined give you a time line of 1399 to 2010 and fill in all the wastelands with actual provencies.
are there any good total war mods?
also if you like empire, i really really would get napoleon as its blown me away. |

The only Total War mods I can recommend are for the Medieval and Rome era. If your still kicking around with these then for Rome there is Europa Barbarorum and Invasio Julianorum (three campaigns around the time of Julianus) two of the most realistc mods going around for the series and there is Broken Cresent (mostly about the Crusades). In fact I will just direct you to twcenter.net, there are mods for E:TW and I think there are a couple released already for N:TW.
I played Empire once and due to the general crappiness of my machine, it ran like a pig even on the most basic settings so I put it away. Hopefully now with my upgrade things will improve. |

Empire got ver very annoying with the amount of seiges you had to go through... but realistic of the time frame i suppose.... Napoleon has free'd it all up again and you can get some bloody hard running battles going against the AI.

That's why I stopped playing Total War games after Medieval 1, they just became about sieges, which aren't as fun to play as open field engagements.
Anyway, PC is up the shitter too! YAY! Has been for over a week now. Stupid motherboard fried. |

just bought left for dead 1 and 2 for £15 in a steam sale.... alongside everysingle star wars jedi knight game for £3

Yay the L4Ds. I also got that Jedi Knight pack, but I kind of wish I hadn't, because only a couple of them are really playable in any meaningful way today. |

i know..... only jedi outcast 2 and jedi academy in my opinion were worth it.... but both are very veyr good games i used to own for consoles... so its nice to have them again and so cheep as well! |

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but for me, PC maintenance is fun. Not so nice when a hard drive craps out on you, but that aside, I like building computers and tweaking and tuning them. |

having said that, if anyone knows of a way for me to upgrade my video card on my laptop im all ears! |
