yes... because its Better than American Football (which should be called hand egg in my opinion) simply because its the game American Football is based on, and has none of the silly stop start tactics and boring bits....

A good open running game of Rugby is a joy and a pleasure to watch...
my advice is pick an international team... get behind them now, watch them in the autum internationals... and maybe the 6 nations next spring.. and then sit back and support like crazy when the world cup comes around in september (i think) next year...

that or just watch the Premiership... personal favs of mine being sale sharks (because my familys from Manchester and i watch them whenever i can live, including an unbroken three year stint while at uni in manchester) or the harlequins (who came and stayed in my chalet in the alps one year... and gave me a signed rugby shirt from them all.... well 34 1st, 2nd team and support staff)..

all that is of course if you end up watching Union Rugby...
there is also League (which is better for some reasons, and worse for others) but if you want to watch league rugby i suggest you just watch an Australian club team...
I hate it when people see me at the supermarket and they are like:
Hey, what are you doing here?
and im just like:
Oh you know, hunting elephants

Rugby Union is da shiznit...follow the Wallabies, you can be perrenially dissapointed like all other Australians when we lose the Bledisloe Cup to New Zealand for the 75th straight year.

I don't know how similar running the ball is in rugby compared to football but I will say when I play football video games I am a run the ball and play defense coach. I absolutely hate that football has become reliant on the passing game, I want to see the lines fight for and decide the game. Also, one of the things I heard people say they liked about rugby is that the game plays much faster because there isn't that stop after every play. So if I were to pick an international team who would be the most entertaining to watch and where could I see them frequently online?

On a side note, it is weird the way England (and to some extent Europe) have so many teams. In the US over the huge amount of land we have we can only muster like 30 teams for each sport but in England you guys have almost a team for every town/city. I wish our sports economy/culture could support that kind of system (college teams help but aren't the same).

personally i like to watch England... because im English and France. because they are brilliant but erratic..
In Rugby its better to see an open running game, instead of watching the teams kick the ball as its more fun, and there are more tackles.... mmmmmm tackles..
watching online i have no idea, but im sure there are many many websites that stream the games on the t'internet...
I don't think its weird how every town has its own team... every village has a team in football, cricket and/ or rugby

Yea, I mean it is weird for me as an American. Out teams almost always need a major media market to survive so looking at how every town no matter the size can put a team on the field is just different.

I am actually from the town Rugby - were the game Rugby originated. I personally think you should get into watching Rugby Union. It is a great game. It flows really quickly and is really interesting to watch. It is all about being strong and quick.
I personally play rugby, so i suppose i am a bit biased. But i do think it is definately worth getting into mate

we invent them, surely thats enough....
and we are doing very very well at Cricket at the moment..
I think we are finally onto a winner with our Rugby team selection... give them some time to bond better, get a six nations out of the way and i reckon a lot of people will be supprised!

Rugby league is probably the sport closest to American Football. It's not quite so stop-start, but it's closer to helmetball than rugby union.

But that said, rugby union is fun too.

So is shinty. You should absolutely watch shinty.

And for the record, American football is probably my most watched sport right now, even ahead of football.

well, every small town has a team in every sport really. It's just they have to be good enough to make it into the big leagues. But the big leagues are also a bunch of bull, because they're specifically located in populated areas or areas without a major town/city, but have a large enough population within the surrounding states to support the team (ie. Green Bay Packers)
