Thanks to Mals for the help with this interview Michelle Green - a 16 year old vocal powerhouse who has conquered the United Kingdoms musical charts and the Top 20 chart respectively with her debut single hitting #2 on the Top 20 and her second single Dark Days (in September) becoming her #1 hit. Now she has her sites set on finishing up the promotion and single releases of her debut album, fully and inventively as well as going on her first tour and eventually her 2nd official album slated for release sometime next year. Here is her Q|A.
Q: How are you today Michelle?
I'm great, just good to still be here today...
Q: We haven't heard much from you in the last month, is there a reason for that?
Yes, there is actually. I needed to just rest up for a few weeks. I don't believe in working yourself to the point where you going on fumes (laughs). I rest up for a bit and than I make my way back to where I was and it seems to work. But no more breaks for me, I think I know how to handle fame better than I did before.
Q: How did you handle it before?
It wasn't like I was handling it, it just was too much for me. When you go from 15 to 16 there a lot of changes that take place. Not only physical changes but mental changes as well. Before fame was too much for me. I felt like I was completely blown out of proportion and I wasn't that "great" of an artist to be pushed up so highly. But then I realized that this is what music has to offer, especially mainstream music. So I'm actually happy with life right now, my success, and my fans are everything.
Q: In September you achieved your first #1 hit for the very successful single, Dark Days, how did you feel when you got the news?
I couldn't believe it! It was like I was dreaming and I never knew I'd have a number 1 hit, things really changed after I got the number one. I was getting endorsement deals left and right and my dad rejected them all. He figures I'm not ready for that type of pressure yet and he'd ask me if I'm ready and I'd say no myself but now I'm more mature and I'm open to other things. All this hard work has to go into something and not just money.. but other ventures too. But yes, Dark Days, really shocked me when it hit number 1. I think I actually cried ... cried because I couldn't believe it and was happy and I cried because I knew things were gonna change because Fifteen hit number two and then a straight number 1...
Q: Quite successful eh?
Eh, yes but its not all about success. I just think people like my music and I'm happy for that. Its time for Folk Music, that isn't really sought after in the music industry to be loved and worshiped.....
Q: What are your future plans?
As for right now, I'll be showing up left and right doing shows, I'm on some features.. I've got an E.P on its way and more, more, more!
Q: One more thing, are you dating rap artist Matty?

Michelle Green's Red Symphony shows the young artists pure talent and raw emotion. Red Symphony sounds like the works of a Jazz great mixed with the likeness of those classic folks kings and queens we all adore. Green is surely headed straight to the top with this masterful release!
