Phish is my personal favorite, but Im only 25. Greatfuldead is the original and amaizing! I have had the priveledge of seeing Phil Lesh and Bobby only about 20 times. Phish is funkyier and way more technical. The dead was never as tight as phish was in their prime. Dont get me wrong. I love the dead, but I guess I have developed with the times. |

Phish seems to be some sort of American phenomenon that has never made it outside of America, like baseball and twinkies. I've at least heard a couple of Dead songs. |

Where as certainly in the UK they are only a band I've ever come across when Yanks discuss them online. And I'm someone who is pretty much more knowledgeable about obscure music than the average member of the British public. |

Pfft, I just like the word, and also comparing British and American pop culture and the massive ways they different for two superficially similar nations. |

Never heard of them, only heard of the Greatful Dead by name, none of their music. Well I suggest checking em out. Improv progressional rock. there deffinetly wierdos, each year there on tour they are the high touring band in the world. But its funny nobody knows who they are. Its the underground sub-culture seen i guess. Phish has only done one eupropian tour about 15 years ago... lol but I have talked to many who love them as much as I do. Damn HIPPIES!!
