[Opening Monologue]
So the music world is looking interesting in the next few months, with releases from Stephanie Fierce and Ryan Ross Hernandez planned and of course long awaited release of … The Matt Urie solo album, yeah I know it‘s as anticipated as the second coming of Hitler.
And on with the show, ladies and gentlemen, we have an incredible guest lined up tonight, they’ve dominated the music world since their debut album GirlSpice - The Debut Album, yeah I know a little bit of me died inside during that period *smiles*
But they’ve gone on to put that death behind them and are now back to dominate again, with their 8th record Resurrection due out in 2011, please stand and show your appreciation to the hottest girl group there has ever been, ladies and gentlemen, GIRLSPICE!!!.Jake: So welcome girls, it’s been a while. First things first, what is it like being in the worlds biggest girl group, it’s something I’ve dreamt of for many years?Nadia: You've dreamt of being in a girl group, Jake? I never knew that! *laughs*
Kimberly: Well you can't complain really, can you? It's an exciting job, we all love it, apart from when you get paparazzi shoving their cameras in your face and up your dress and whatever else...
Sophia: O-M-G, that is so mean of them, right??
Jake: Oh yeah, I’ve always wanted to be in a girl group, I remember dancing in front of the mirror to the spice girls wannabe and now you girls are living my dream. If you go through a list of your achievements, it just blows my mind, you’ve sold over 50 million records, how on earth do you girls manage to continue to make music that is relevant, surely you must run out of inspiration?Nadia: 50 million isn't a bad number at all! I'd love to sell a lot more though, nothing wrong with aiming high. *smiles*
Chantal: We ask ourselves the same thing but the inspiration just keeps on coming I guess. Especially when you've got 4 brains in the group, you've always got more of a chance of someone coming up with an idea for a track, that's the great thing about it all.
Jake: Collaborations have played a big part in your career, you’ve teamed up with some huge names and some unexpected sparing partners, Aerospliff, Thunderwolf, Aftershock and of course Stephanie Fierce, out of all the collaborations which did you prefer?Sophia: O-M-G, Jake! That is so rude of you, they are all lovely, aren't they??
Nadia: I think they're all great in their own way. Aerospliff and Thunderwolf were absolutely massive back then and walking into the same room as them, I nearly fainted, I'm not joking! Aftershock always had ideas flowing and the songs just came so easily, they're always full of inspiration. And Stephanie Fierce has such a superstar glow around her and she's a lovely girl, it was such an honour working with her, she's one of the biggest names in pop these days.
Jake: And who would you choose to be your next big shock collaborator?Kimberly: It wouldn't be a shock if I told you, would it? *laughs*
Sophia: I wanna collaborate with The Purger! O-M-G! Can you imagine?? No, I'm sooo joking, oh that's terrible what he's doing, isn't it? Can you actually believe it?
Jake: You’ve also been on so many record labels including the label I helped bring you girls to, Junction Records why haven‘t you girls been able to settle at one label?Chantal: I think it's always good to have fresh people around you after sometime, I don't wanna keep working with the same people and so everything goes stale after a while and the quality of the record suffers because of that. Some people can stay at a label for a while and really make it work, I guess we can't!
Sophia: Let's hope that Junction Records will be our home forever and ever now because I'm sick of travelling! L-O-L!
Jake: Would you say record labels have become obsolete these days?Sophia: Obese? What?
The rest of the girls roll their eyes.Nadia: Ignore her! Silly cow. There's definitely not that passion put into labels anymore like there used to be, I miss that about the industry, labels used to really fight against each other to get the hottest new acts and now it's like... whatever.
Jake: Does the lack of number 1 records annoy you despite your success?Kimberly: YES! That sucks.
Chantal: Kimberly...
Kimberly: What? Who doesn't like number one records? You can't complain about 'em!
Nadia: No, not really, we've had so much success, so a number one record becomes irrelevant, if you think about it, anyone can get a number one record but not anyone can stay around for as long as we have. We've achieved quite a lot!
Sophia: O-M-G that was so touching, Nadia!
Jake: Nadia you’re the only original member of the group and your considered one of the most iconic popstars of recent times, do you ever think that you should just scrap the whole girl group thing and go solo?Nadia: Iconic? Really? Wow. *laughs* I don't think so, I've tried the solo thing, it was nice at the time, I just feel more comfortable in the group. I've been doing this for so long, so that's probably why I've got a soft spot for being in GirlSpice compared to being solo.
Sophia: I wish I was iconic, can I be iconic? L-O-L!
Jake: Your all very beautiful girls, do you wake up every morning and think, I’m so hot?Sophia: O-M-G! Jake, you are soooo nice.
Chantal: It's important to have self confidence in yourself and your looks, I wouldn't say I'm hot but I'm decent.
Kimberly: Behind this make-up is a monster, I assure you. *laughs*
Nadia: I get told I'm beautiful every morning, but it's not me complimenting myself in the mirror... *smiles*
Jake: Nadia, you’re in a relationship with the notorious ladies man Ryan Ross Hernandez, how on earth did that happen and are you crazy?Nadia: I really am, I've been asked that many times! We hooked up over Twitter actually, it was just something really small at first, he was just complimenting my hair and that kinda led from one thing to another. I know some people think he's really full of himself and whatever else, but isn't that kinda attractive? I don't know, a confident man just attracts me. Anyway, girls, post a picture of your hair on Twitter, it works. *laughs*
Kimberly: Pass me a sick bucket...
Jake: Do any of you ever speak to the former members of the band and why did they leave?Sophia: They erm... died! Oh goodness!
Nadia: Not all of them... a few did, it's really upsetting since I've had to watch so many friends come in and out of the band, and they either leave because of disputes or because of... tragedys. I'm not in contact with any of them anymore though, it just didn't work out, but it's fine.
Jake: Who in the music industry right now would you say is taking over?Chantal: Stephanie Fierce has a lot of buzz around her for her upcoming album I'd say! I'm really looking forward to seeing what she's gonna put out there. She's always been an exciting artist, you never know what to expect with her.
Nadia: Is it bad of me to say Ryan? He's so creative and is gonna dominate with the new album, I can tell.
Jake: And are you other girls single?*Sophia and Chantal raise their hands*
Sophia: Will anyone put up with me? Pretty please? L-O-L!
Chantal: I'm not too bothered if I'm honest, men can distract you at times from your career and just as we're getting back on the scene, I don't really have time to have a full on relationship, but we'll see...
Jake: And is there any other celebrity’s your interested in?Chantal: Ooh, if you mean fancy then I quite like Joe Lee Dayton, he's cute! *winks*
Nadia: I adore Moronic Changeling and I'm so glad they're back with a new album, there's something really special about them that always keeps me interested! True legends I'd say.
Kimberly: Madison O'Leary! That bitch is so crazy, I've met up with her before and she knows how to fucking partyyyyy! I'm so looking forward to her return.
Sophia: Stephy Fierce!! Steph!! Yay!! She's back with a new album as well, everyone's coming back! It's amazing! O-M-G! L-O-L!
