Well, not quite yet, but the FAWM.org site's just come up today and February Album Writing Month is coming soon, and I'm ridiculously excited for it! :D 14 songs in 28 days, could you do it? If you think you can (or just want to give it a shot), let me know if you are and post your username here so I can perv on watchlist you! (If you registered for FAWM in another year, your username is still valid and I'm probably already watching you.)

I think I only two of us on TRSG finished it last time, Lewis and myself. I was quite proud of my dualfawmery - 14 songs in 27 days and then 14 more on the last day, but this time I'll be concentrating on getting some backing for my big gob rather than recording a load of extra songs for the hell of it. But we'll see how it goes.

I apparently have a problem with finishing things, especially when I'm under a time schedule. So I'm still thinking whether or not I should give this a shot. I'll try though, but I'll probably cheat since I have already written so many songs and I'm all juiced out. I should of just waited, but I forgot this was coming. This will probably effect my band hunting stamina.

Any who, Last Year I was being a freaking coward. I thought that maybe people thought I was weird or something because of my lyrics. I also, was not giving it my all, and forgot about the whole thing when I went on my birthday vacation. Mess.

Nobody's weird in FAWM. Or rather, lots of us are, but we're all weird together. (: It's 14 songs in 28 days, though there may be some gems amongst your songs, it's more about having fun and giving the challenge a go. If you do get some good 'uns (and many a great song has been recorded in FAWM - it's like NaNoWriMo, ScriptFrenzy, etc., it gets the inspiration going), you've got the months ahead to get proper recording and mastering done if you want it.

One of the best parts is the forums; the friendly community, comments, challenges and collaborations. (Oh, look at me getting my brain in gear with literary devices. Oh, look at me using big words already - last year I busted out 'somniloquy', 'ailuranthropical', 'sanguinarian', to name but a few. Hehehe.) Also the little additions like the official weekly challenges, the muse-maker, the @fawm twitter, the radio shows people do, and so on.

Ooh, not sure what I'm gonna call my album... My problem is that I cannot play any instruments, soo will have to do 14 tracks of just my voice...

Yes, you can record a cappella - I did 28 songs a cappella last year - or just write lyrics with no demo. Whatever you believe constitutes a song. (:

Me too. I kind of like it though, I'd rather have a massive muse building throughout the month than no muse at all! It makes it all the more exciting. (: I especially like it when weird stuff happens around me in January, even if it's bad. Everything makes me smile, thinking, "I could write a song about this".

I think we take two different stances on this then, cause what happens to me is I find myself singing some really great stuff out loud all day long and then forget it without any hope of being turned into a song.

Agreed, I experience the very same Cody.

My friend suggested me the idea of carrying a small sound/voice recorder (a simple idea I never really thought of), so when you have 'that moment', you can record it and reflect on it. So far it has helped me a lot.

That is a brilliant idea, but I would need a lot of tapes cause mine happens through the day and I dont really catch when I had "that moment" until after its over. lol

Lol they have digital ones. Of course a bit more expensive, but tapes will do fine as well.

BTW, you're suppose to record before you start singing....... each time. Tiring but worth it, because you'll catch that "moment" eventually ;)......
