The Sound Of 2011

A brief look at 5 of the most anticipated albums set for release this year:

1. Glamazon - Title TBC
“Everybody’s favourite psychotic superstar looks set to continue where she left off with Demons for her 2011 sophomore album, expect it to be a dark collection of haunting melody’s and lyrics straight from the Stephen King handbook. If her lead single Killer Motives is anything to go by then it’s looking like she could well have another hit on her hands and if I was a betting man, maybe just maybe, album of the year.”

2. Infinite - Insomnia
“They’ve stolen the show since they rocked up on the music scene, their own brand of Electro rock fuelled with the hunger and ambition to confirm their status as worlds best rock band. If you put Eric’s ego aside for a moment and listen to this band’s lyrics and music ability then you’ll see just why they deserve all the accolades they get. Track titles like A Town Called Insomnia, Vague Similarities and Chaos Reigns is enough to wet the appetite for now.”

3. Brittany Knox - Title TBC
“Everybody’s favourite underdog returns with her sophomore album. Currently untitled but after the attention of her first effort Mannequin and her redemption in the eyes of the mainstream media with Halfway There it’s time for Brittany to show that she’s in it for the long haul. Having once again enlisted the help of pop hitmaker Danny Allen it seems that this will be the album that pushes her into the first class lounge of the music industry.”

4. Cherise - Destination Unknown
“Possibly the surprise of the last couple of months. She’s worked hard to get the praise she has been getting and with a track like Pyramid headlining the album and second single Redlight set to create a lot of attention in the run up to the albums release date, expect albums to start vanishing from supermarket shelves and expect to hear Cherise’s name a lot in 2011.”

5. Alicia Lena - Waking Up
“Trying to top a 4 million selling debut album will no doubt be difficult and Alicia Lena seems to be planning on doing that. Although this time she seems to be more interested in showing her own voice, first time around she called upon four of the biggest names in pop music to help her out and it was a success spawning 5 top20 singles but this time, no features seem on her plans. She seems set on proving she can do it alone, I for one wouldn’t doubt her.”

I feel pretty honored that Infinite's new album is being anticipated so badly. All I want to know is this; why weren't we given the top spot instead of merely being number two? Oh, and why does everybody keep thinking I have a massive ego?

-Eric Quillington

OOC: I really like this idea, by the way! I'm going to try to write out an interview or review for this in the next few days! :)
Kid Anything- Indie/Britpop/Shoegaze; influenced by Sigur Ros, XXYYXX, Kanye West, Blur, Oasis

(Bringing together an eclectic group of influences, Ulysses' songs are sung with carefree abandon by Nick Junk)

Kurt Ulysses - Songwriter, Guitarist, Backup Vocalist
Nick Junk - Vocals, Mojo

Infinite- Alternative/Experimental Rock; influenced by Muse, Radiohead, and The Beatles

(Known best for their experimental music and their frontman's eccentric behavior, the band disbanded after Eric Quillington's death to pursue solo careers or, in Matt Robert's case, peace of mind. Infinite released four albums over the course of their career; Blue Nebula, Midnight Skies, Insomnia, and Dancing about Architecture.)

Eric Quillington (Deceased) - Lead Vocals, Lead Guitar, Piano, Primary Lyricist
Matt Roberts - Bass
Greg Oldson - Drums, Backup Vocals, Secondary Lyricist
Amelia Florentine - Keyboards, Piano, Lyricist, Backup Vocals

Yasmin Storme + Book of Love?

UserPostedImage

Rumor has it that Yasmin Storme has been offered a place onto Duo, Book of Love. After catching up with Bassist/Guitarist Peter Hampshire after a Warped Tour set, he replied:
"We got ahold of Yasmin's debut single and she has that raw Indie talent that we like. So we've been trying to contact her, and so far there's been nothing from her end. We'd love to have her be the new Guitarist though."

He also talked a little about his side-project, "Goodbye Mars" and revealed that he was originally going to draft Kaethe Jenkins onto the band but decided against it for 'personal reasons'. Instead, he's bringing in two ladies to help him out. The Bassist said:

"Since we got on the Warped Tour, we've been playing live show after live show filled with covers. So I've had no time to get Goodbye Mars off the ground, luckily I got some talent into the band though."

He explained that after Underground Experimental Rock band, GiftStar broke up he decided to nab up Melissa Parker has a drummer for Goodbye Mars and drafted 22 Year Old Gears of Bremen Frontwoman, Renee Belamont as his bassist. They'll be releasing an independently released LP in a couple of months.

What Happens To The Hard Sugars?
Yesterday paparazzi took some photos of two members of the new band "Hard Sugar" getting out from a party.

There were also Laurence of Teen Titans, who's dating Coco, and an unknown guy with Mariah and he doesn't look like a Mariah's friend.

UserPostedImage UserPostedImage

But what's happening with their open shirts showing their bras? Is this just an hard sugar style or is there anymore? Did Mariah find her "donut man"?

It's also rumored that Laurence and Coco are going to marry this summer. They just began dating the last month, what's all of this rush? Is there anything we don't know?

Infinite gives tantalizing first look at upcoming album with 'January Sessions'

For a time, it seemed like the alternative power trio Infinite was fading into obscurity. Drug scandals, in-band fighting, rumors that success had gone to Eric's head... it was all there, and the band seemed on the verge of a break-up. However, these were the exact same circumstances the band found themselves in before the release of 'Midnight Skies'; Greg Oldson was involved in a drug-induced car accident, reported outbursts between Oldson and Eric Quillington would've made the Gallagher brother's blush in awe, and Quillington was hinting at a possible solo career. After only one bloody Infinite album.

Thankfully, the reported break-up never happened, and 'Midnight Skies' was leagues ahead of the irritatingly brooding 'Blue Nebula'. Now, Infinite once again seems on the verge of a break-up, with a super-group (Project; Prometheus) AND a solo career, both involving Quillington, officially announced. Perhaps as a way to get people to stop bitching about the state of the band, Infinite has announced they would release four songs off of their upcoming album for free on their website. Two have already been released.

Rest assured, Infinite isn't going away. In fact, the trippy circus act of 'A Town Called Insomnia' and the terrifying Revolution-9-sound-collage 'Vague Similarities' are lightyears ahead of anything the band has released in the past. Here's what Greg Oldson had to say;

Greg Oldson wrote:
"I really think these songs don't do justice to what 'Insomnia' is like. It's very much a concept album in the fact that all songs are meant to be heard back-to-back, as an entire album and playlist. Quillington's always imagined this album as 'Blue Nebula done right'. Meaning it'll be stylistically similar to our first album, but will have much more mature lyrics and themes. We've really poured our hearts out on this one; 'Insomnia' is the album we want people to remember us by.

Seems like a fairly typical Infinite quote. Douchily cryptic, and revealing almost no information. But, hell, it keeps our interests piqued. It's been posted on the band's blog that this album won't be released until (at the earliest) late February. Regardless, if the other songs are in the same league as 'A Town Called Insomnia' and 'Vague Similarities', then the wait will be well worth it.

Guitarist of The Verdict Is Vengeance states rumours are not true

Rumours that have been circulating about The Verdict Is Vengeance planning on ending their 4 years as a band soon after the release of their sophomore album Oblivion have been answered by lead guitarist/clean vocalist Robert Williams.

Robert Williams wrote:
The rumours are not true in the slightest. If the band split up over a small arguement about song writing styles, then we would have broken up around 20 times whilst writing for 'Oblivion', we can't ever deciede on what is going to be a big influence in our music style I guess. Fans shouldn't worry about us breaking up yet, we have so much to look forward to this year before we could even think about taking a break for a few weeks, let alone never perform as the band ever again. I'm happy, and I'm sure the other members would say the same if you asked them. Also just to add, Toby [Coyte-Broomfield, Touring guitarist] is getting along with us all fine, and has picked up the songs suprisingly quickly, but we will still be looking for a new guitarist to replace Phil [Nind, former rhythm guitarist] over the next few months.

It’s no surprise that the rumours, are just that as The Verdict Is Vengeance have touring commitments throughout the next few months including the supporting of Chimera throughout April, although it seems as if a possible hiatus could occur at some point after the touring process is complete? It would make sense, but we can't be sure of it.

With Brandon Caulfield currently 3 days into recording his debut album Into The Wild we can break some news. It's now set to be a sprawling double album. It seems that there would appear to be enough "quality" material to make it a double album. The initial 12 songs will continue to be on the first album titled part 1 but possibly another 12-14 songs will appear on Part 2. New artwork has now been completed to coincide with the decision to turn this anticipated album into a double effort.
It's still unknown which songs will appear on the second album and it would appear that they may not be released together on the same day, although they will all be recorded and mastered together at the record studio in Elizabethtown, Indiana over the next month. In addition to this news we can also confirm that Brandon has been joined in the studio for the first 4 days by fellow musician, Hannah Beth, whether she has a role in the making of the album or not is unknown but it's been confirmed that he will make an announcement in the next couple of days.
More news when we get it.

ElectroDeath will be giving a Small concert on House of Blues, Las Vegas, to a MTV special entitled "Live and intimate". It is the first time the group will perform live after the collapse Magie Lena suffered last year on O2 arena in London while their canceled "Blackout Tour", a 1,000 tickets were able to purchase, and in less than one hour it had completely being sold out!

Is it true what they say? Is Ronny Rocken back again? It doesn’t seem better.
“It’s been a busy Christmas. Boozing and stuff. And after that came the new year which meant… boozing and stuff. It’s time to sober up and do something for our fans again. Maybe that album I promised a few months ago before I lost track of the days. It's time for the Roadmasters to roll again.”
That’s how it sounded at Ronny’s homepage earlier this week. And the first single is planned to be released by his own company, Outhouse Studio, this weekend. Entitled The king is back. So keep en eye for more details.

In addition to the news we broke about the changes to Brandon Caulfield's debut album Into The Wild we can today confirm the artwork (above) which includes track titles and the running order for part two of the double album. Looks like he's finding himself in a very creative mood and that can only be a good thing surely, so will this decision make the album less special or will it enhance it?.
