Members: Hira, Lyrica, Stefani, Brittany Deacon, AJ Girls To Ladies (G2L) are an all girl group from Santa Monica, California. The group consists of 5 female singers Hira, Lyrica, Stefani, Brittany and AJ, they formed in May 2010 and made their recording debut in July 2010 with under Junction Records with the release of their debut single, Ego, they have gone on to release 3 singles and one album all of which achieving moderate chart success and selling a combined total of just over 1 million.
Their debut album Red Light Special has sold 300,000 copies in the US alone and has gone on to sell almost 500,000 copies worldwide as well as breaking the top 10 in the UK and US album charts at 9 and 8 respectively. The album also spawned 3 singles, all of which achieved extended radio play in part down to the huge promotional backing from Junction Records.
Their biggest chart success so far was their 3rd single, Imperfect Girl which was released in October 2010 and broke the top 40 singles chart in the US, UK and Canada peaking at, #18, #34 and #30 respectively. It went on to sell just over 450,000 copies.
The band embarked on their first tour in support of Alicia Lena in September 2010 and finished that tour in December 2010. They also performed at the Find Miss Vanity concert in September 2010.
They have been somewhat quiet following their support slot on Alicia Lena’s tour but they’re reportedly set to head into a record studio to begin work on a follow up in early 2011.
Born 18 January 1992 (Age 19) is an American pop singer and songwriter from Ocean Avenue, Santa Monica. She joined G2L in late 2009 and is the youngest member of the group. She is noted for her high vocal range in the group and is considered one of the main contributors to the groups song writing.
Attracted to performing from an early age, she quickly became interested in musical theatre and by the age of 11 she had landed a role in a Berklee production of The Lion King as a young Nala.
She has a younger brother and two younger sisters.
Born 4 April 1989 (Age 21) is an American pop singer originally from New York but raised in Santa Monica, California. She joined G2L in 2009 and is considered the party girl of the group. She comes from an Irish family and has no American roots, “My whole family are Irish, my mum and dad moved to New York before I was born so I guess I’m technically Irish.” her Irish roots are slightly noticeable when she talks as her accent has an Irish sound to it.
She studied at Berklee College of Music but dropped out after one year. She is the only member of G2L who can play guitar. She has two younger brothers.
Born 17 August 1991 (age 19) is an American pop singer from the girl group G2L. Born in Santa Monica, California. She joined the group in 2009. She is the only member of the group that is an only child. She grew up as best friends with AJ having met at the age of 8, she also became close friends with Brittany Deacon in high school and alongside AJ and Brittany they are the 3 founding members of the group.
Born on 14 June 1991 (age 19) is an American pop singer from the girl group G2L. She was born in Hollywood, California but her family moved to Santa Monica when she was 5 years old. Her father was a well known movie director and her mother was a model/actress. When her parents moved to Santa Monica it was to get away from the celebrity lifestyle and the two parents opened up a café on Santa Monica pier.
She’s the only member of the group to have worked outside of the group, in August 2010 she featured on a song with Electrodeath which was a successful single.
She began dating producer Danny Allen in August 2010 but they split in October 2010. She has one older sister and one younger brother.
Born on May 8 1991 (age 19) is an American pop singer from the girl group G2L. She was born in Santa Monica, California. She joined the girl group G2L in 2009 and is considered one of the founding members of the group, and is attributed to coming up with the name of the group.
Best friends with Stefani and Brittany in high school they decided to create the girl group together. AJ is the only member of the group that plays piano and is one of the main contributors to the song writing alongside Hira and Lyrica they wrote Ego and Isn’t It Funny without outside help.
