Background:
[Jay] ALiD was written about what I experienced in jail. I saw what happened to some of the kids here. There was this one lad serving 4 years for robbery to fund a heroin addiction. Man. It was messed up. He was a good guy but with the wrong crowd. Another guy I knew was caught with weed a bunch of times and earned himself 6 months. His sentence started the same day as me. He liked his music. He's now my good friend. Dont smoke either. I just wanna tell all these youths about what they can fuck up if they fall into this trap.
Lyrics
A Lesson in DrugsAyyo
Listen up
Look at you
Tryna gain publicity
Through misery
And when your crew dyin ya want sympathy?
That aint what I about
Nah dog that aint allowed
In my book everyone proud
And we all up there on some number 9 cloud
Yo want some cash so you selling dope
to thirteen year olds with no hope
Other than their next high
When they dont even realize
they could lose their lives and make momma cry?
Thats fucked up
Your messed up
This is a lesson to all of you
Out there getting addicted to glue
Theres other shit that you can do
Life without drugs is better its true
Now
I gotta lil message for you
Don't take drugs cause that crackhead redneck could turn out to be you
Its true
You start of with weed
Then you movin to speed
Next thing you know your hooked on those E's
Dont get me started on coke
Cause that shit leads to dope
Then yo stealin cuz yo ass is so broke
Then ya infront of a judge
Whos bearing a grudge
Cause ya got caught selling drugs
To his son
At his school
Then he got stoned
And drowned in the pool
Now ya locked up
In young offenders
Now you fucked
This is a lesson to all of you
Out there getting addicted to glue
Theres other shit that you can do
Life without drugs is better its true
