Brief History

‘We Sing For Everything’ are an American pop-rock band from San Diego, California. The band was formed by lifelong friends Kellin, Samantha and Jamie and they later added a college friend Leo and eventually his brother Tyler into the mix, which created the band that are together today. Kellin, Samantha and Jamie have been friends since junior school and their love of music and later their decision to learn how to play the instruments led to the three often talking about starting a high school band together, this never truly came to fruition until they had left high school. All three founding members of the band went to college at the same time, however Jamie dropped out of college after only eight months, Kellin and Samantha continued until they graduated both in English and Music based subjects.

After the end of college the trio remained best friends, they finally begun playing together regularly and begun performing live shows at local events under the obvious name ‘Kellin, Samantha and Jamie’, the performing wasn’t providing much of a living and each of them took on various short term jobs, they eventually moved out from their parents and the three hopeful musicians rented a small apartment together. They had all known Tyler and Leo Moya from their time in college and had become friends with them over the years and after bumping into the two brothers at another local free show in San Diego they decided to get the two guitarists involved with their own band, rehearsals now became a daily routine, a band name was decided and ‘We Sing For Everything’ begun getting regular gigs around Los Angeles and the neighbouring cities, making enough money for all five members to quit their low-paid jobs and focus entirely on the band.

It was a Christmas 2012 concert in Las Vegas that proved to be the most important moment for the band, as they were first on a bill that included Riot! In The Boulevard as headliners. The band bumped into lead singer Amy Meyer before the show who had some encouraging words for the still inexperienced band, and is it turns out she was watching the young pop-rock outfit from the wings, impressed with what she saw she made sure to catch up with them once more backstage to personally request them to perform at one of her brothers upcoming birthday parties. The band of course were surprised by the offer and of course immediately accepted the invitation. Two weeks later they performed at the party and numbers were exchanged between Amy Meyer and the band and a friendship quickly formed between Kellin, Samantha and Amy, so much so that Amy was seen regularly in the crowd at their low-key concerts in California throughout the first six months of 2013. This later led to Amy offering the band their first ever recording contract and the band signed a two album deal with the indie record label ‘Songs to Love and Die By!’.
