Artist: Tisha Jackson Song: Good Lovin' Ft. Chloe & Atlas Album: The Highway To Redemption Written by: Tisha Jackson, Chloe Smith, Damon Waters Produced by: Tisha Jackson Genre: Hip-Hop / R&B Length: 4:41 Recorded: February 13, 2013
Background & Vocal Arrangements of ‘Good Lovin’
Good Lovin’ is an up-tempo. The track focuses on the break up of a couple and Tisha and Chloe tackle on the females perspective as Atlas gives a males point of view. The beat begins with the chords of a guitar, trumpets, and drums. The beat is very mellow and clear for an up-tempo. The guitar strums however. Chloe kicks of the track with an introduction followed by Atlas’s introduction. Jackson then begins the first verse using a whisper while singing her notes. She uses both her upper and lower registers, giving it a unique rasp sound. She then heads to the chorus. She then heads to the bridge which leads her to the second verse. Jackson belts out the second verse, as her vocals are clearer as she uses her mid-register. She then heads to the bridge with a rasp tone, using a whisper technique. The track breaks down for Chloe as she spits her verse. Followed Chloe’s verse, Atlas begins his verse, giving the male perspective of the song. Jackson heads to the chorus singing in her upper-register, sounding powerful. She incorporates the bridge with the chorus until the songs end.
Background of ‘Good Lovin’ [How It Came About]
Good Lovin’ was recorded on February 13th, 2013 in New York City. It was originally supposed to be a female trio of Tisha singing lead and featuring Chloe and Foxxxy. However for unspecified reasons Foxxxy was unable to record her verse. The track is about the breakup of an couple, and Jackson and Smith protest saying they want nothing to do with their ex as Atlas protest he wants nothing to do with his as well. Instead Tisha decided to switch up the track and add a male to it, to get a new perspective to the song. Instead of it becoming male bashing a male would give his point of view to the breakup. So she asked one of the hottest new MC’s to the game, Atlas to join the track. The track is predominantly Hip-Hop and is one of the most urban songs on the album. Many speculate that the song is loosely based of Jackson’s relationship with ex-boyfriend Dominic Brown.
Quote: “Good Lovin’ is one of my favorite tracks on the album. It is SO HIP-HOP. And when I hear it I think of summer time. That’s why I plan on it being the next single off of the album. I love how it came about. It took about two months to write this song and that is because both Chloe and Atlas, plus myself wanted our verses and vocals to sound on point. I think Atlas is going to be the next big thing when it comes to being an MC and that’s why I put him on this record. I wanted the folks to see him for the first time and be like, “Wooah, who’s that kid? Let me go check out some more of this stuff. He has what it takes.” And it is always great working with someone you love, so I had to get Chloe to come write and spit a verse. I think that she was so underrated and misunderstood coming into the game, and that’s why I invited her to tour with in 2011 because she had it, and I feel like the world is ready for her now. And she’s killing the gam right now, but she’s humble about it. In regards to writing she is probably one of the most talented I know.”

[Chorus/Bridge]
I gave you good love Say goodbye to all this good lovin’ I should’ve been fired you Cause you tried to take the best of me Now I need some good good love Did you get crazy, and kept testing me Now I need some good good love Boy, you know that you are wrong to bluff on me I’m taking all this good lovin’ back Now I need some good good love You’ll never get that old thang back
