Little bug I've just come across with my albums is that if you create an album with a very long title, it then permanently screws up the album page so that the only thing that is displayed is the album titles. Thus you can not add artwork or see sales figures of any of your albums ever again.
I guess the same thing would occur with single but do not want to risk trying it.
