Bed? Check. Table? Check. Guitar? Check.
It's been about 4 months now, still living in this shitty apartment, if you could call this living. I've been staring up the ceiling fan, nothing's coming to mind right now, I'm so blank.
I don't even know how I got to this point in life; 17 years young, 17 years wasted. I don't want to call them back, I don't want to be another experiment, another "perfect" son. Ironically, I can say that this is the best I've been in my life. I'd rather be living like this. Free, free from the expectations, free from the restrictions, I'm just living my life the way I want to.
Ring. Ring.
"Dean. It's me, MJ. I don't know how long you'd want to keep this up but mom and dad are really worried about you. You're really fucked up, you know that? I can't believe you have to go through all this just to prove your point, you wanna be a musician? That's fine with me, but what you've been doing, it's just awful. I know I can't convince you to come back, don't do it for them or for me. Do it for yourself. I've already payed the rent for your apartment, but mind you, this is the last time I would. If you don't want to come back, I don't think it would be right for me to just give you what you want."
Abandoned.
I don't really hate my family, they've given me everything I need. Financially, they've supported me well; but with my dreams, my ambitions, they'd rather have a doctor for a son than me. I can't go on with it, I can't live my life on their terms, MJ was right, if I want to live on my own terms, I'd have to earn it. I can show them that I'm not all talk, I can be who I want to be. I know it, I just don't know where to start.
"Dude, you have got to see this."
That's my roommate Lenny, the joker. A really funny fellow, I don't really show it to him but I really do like him, he sort of keeps me sane at times, you really need someone to talk to when you've got nothing to do. And oh, he's my source of income, since it's been my brother paying the rent for 4 months, his share goes to me, another thing he doesn't know.
"Pretty cool huh?"
He was showing me this video he posted online, it was this local band he had been covering for the past week now for his blog, I believe they were called Maya and The Birds or The Void or something, I've only heard of them from the badly hand written flyers that were being spread around town and from my roommate. It was this chick on vocals and 3 guys backing her up. Very psychedelic, very unusual, just my type. What really caught me was the very ambient feel of their music, it was just what my ears were eager for.
"So I was invited by the band to attend their gig at Gary's tonight, I thought you'd want to drop by, get inspired, your Writer's Block has to be overcomed."
"True, I'm getting pretty bored here anyway."
"Right, so I give you 5 minutes and we're out, I'd be waiting in the van."
I put on my coat and grabbed the pack of cigarettes on the table before heading out. The weather was bearable, just the right amount of cold to keep my fish fresh and my beer great. We were on our way to Gary's, the local pub, when suddenly...BOOM!
(OOC: It feels good to be back for real!xD
I know this was pretty shitty, but you must be used to it by now)
