oh yeah
since I met you everything has gone right
there is no more bad in my life
when I hold you close to me.
you make me feels so safe baby.

What you do, what you say
what you say is what you do

You make me feel like my life means something
that your meant to be here right now
what does it mean my angel
you saved me from myself

You set me free
You set me free
it was our destiny
your my special one
that's got my heart

A year ago I was all alone
not having anyone to call my own
people hurting me left and right
it's amazing how I survived
then you stole my heart.

You set me free
You set me fee
it was our destiny
You set me free
You set me free

Amy then does a dance on stage with her backing dancers

The background music to Loopholes then begins to play as Amy is dancing, she then begins to sing after Coke's voice is heard through the speakers

in & out of love
Running
In Circles
Chasing you

In & out of love
Running
In Circles
Chasing you

Fighting and fussing
Hard time to trust him
Dont know why I put up with this
I know I deserve better

But right when I've had enough
You go and fix things up
But everything aint what it appears
And so we end up back here

Right back , where we started ,
Maybe we should of just
Stayed friends
But no , but yes , but no
Up and Down like a rollercoaster

Amy then begins to do another dance this time more girly.

The music then changes again to the instrumental for Cheat By Barbarian Amy was going to do a special rendition of the song were she slowed it down Amy also spoke to the crowd.

"anyone here like cheat by Barbarian, I think so any this is for you girls never ever like a man cheat on you"

Amy then begins to sing cheat in a Mariah Carey Hero kind of way.

Yes, it's Barbarian, and she's back, haha, ooh
Oh I oh I oh I oh I yeah
Oh I oh I oh I oh I yeah
Oh I oh I oh I oh I baby
Oh I oh I oh I oh I yeah

The naughty things I did from hornyness
cause you put me through so many things
I gave my man all his modesty
But I know that he cheated on me
I caught him in his lie but all he does is cry to keep me near
you better wipe them eyes
boy I'm not fuckin' around
cause what I needed was your affection

Oh, So I cheat yeah
I Just keep it on the down low
cause nobody was supposed to know
So I cheat
yeah 'Cause he doesn't know what I do
and no attention Goes to show
oh so I cheat

The 23rd day of loneliness
cause we don't fuck like we used to do
better get used to the change
cause I'm not stressing
cause I know you did the same
yeah yeah
I'll keep giving loving till the day he pushes me away
and never go a day
If he knew the things I did he couldn't handle it
And I choose to be the one that isn't affected

So I cheat yeah
I Just keep it on the down low
cause nobody else supposed to know
So I cheat yeah
'Cause he doesn't know what I do and no attention goes to show oh so I cheat

I think about us baby all the time
But you know that I'm gonna need some affection
Yeah, yeah you can't deny it
I know you cheated baby, so will I
And you gotta know if you don't give me that D Imma get mine

What's wrong your man leaving you unsatisfied?
He doesn't give you the D to make you testify
I don't approve of cheating but I know you have needs
I'm quite controlling so I want to hear your beg and pleas
I'm not easy you going to have you work for this
Relax cause their don't be a pleasure spot I'll miss
Rough when I need be but gentle like a kiss
I going to tease you and maybe tie up your wrist
I give branding to have a whole new meaning
Looking at Nike's just do it gives a different feeling
Minute man, nothing about me is short term
Great at the play that leave you to squirm
Don't get it twisted just because my name is Kidd
Childlike at heart but where it counts I'm big
I Know I make the guy you with feel obsolete
As long as you keep on the low so nobody know that you cheat

ooh
Oh I oh I oh I Oh I yeah
Oh I oh I oh I Oh I baby
Oh I oh I oh I Oh I yeah
yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

Amy then dances more then waves to the crowd.

"I have one more song for you guys it is my next single, iit called What's On Your Mind and it features Parish I hope you like it"

The music for the song then begins to play as a Amy begins to sing.

ooh yeah haha
Tell me what's on your mind
I can see it in your eyes
There's somthing you anit telling me
Wanna know if your alright
Tell me what's on your mind
I keep asking all the time
I want the truth and no lies
I keep asking why you cry
Tell me what's on your mind

Every time I see you , you have that look in your eye
Like you wanna tell me baby
But you cant look at me as of lately
Baby what's the deal
You can't tell me how you feel
I keep thinking your alright
I know it's just a matter of time
I found a number from another girl
Tell me why would u lie
Sitting woundering where you go

Tell me what's on your mind
I can see it in your eyes
There's somthing you anit telling me
Wanna no if your alright
Tell me what's on your mind
I keep asking all the time
I want the truth and no lie
I keep asking why you cry
Tell me what's on your mind

Parish's rap can then be heard over the speakers.

Ma girl keeps asking me what's going on,
I keep telling the girl that nothing is wrong,
She don't believe me, man you should'a seen her,
The girls going crazy, certainly not a believer
I'm not doing nothing, but that don't stop the jealousy,
This girl seems to have developed some sort of psychotic tendencies,
Like the more she asks me, the more she pushes me away,
I don't wanna go girl, but I certainly don't wanna stay,
If all that's gonna happen is I'm gonna get accused -
Of something that i haven't done, girl that shits not cool!
Why the fuck you leaving me, what have i actually done?!
Fuck this shit girl, I can't cope with this, what we had before is gone!

Amy then begins to sing again.

The only thing you see is me walking out of your life
Cos what you did
Who you with
You make me say how could you do this to me
You said you love me
And that you want me to be your girl
But that anit gonna happen no more
Get your suff and go
You only think of yourself
So get out my life

Tell me what's on your mind
Tell me what's on your mind
.

Amy then waves to the crowd again.

ALEX SIMMS – LIVE FROM VEGAS ROCKS, 2013

UserPostedImage

As the surrounding lights go down throughout the 16,000 capacity MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada the crowd cheer as the stage lights flicker briefly before powering up and turning the stage into a fully lit area for the next performance, that performance as previously announced is the arrival of rock singer-songwriter ‘Alex Simms’. A relatively positive selection of applause and cheers are heard as the backing band assemble onto the stage, the guitarists plugging into their amps and the drummer setting off a basic backbeat, lead guitarist ‘Frankie Fallon’ strikes the strings of his guitar a couple of times before delving straight into what sounds like an opening guitar riff, it’s a slightly extended version of the riff which gives Alex Simms the time and freedom to make his awaited arrival onstage in this iconic Las Vegas venue, after a couple of moments he makes his arrival and he does so in full energy.
The dark-haired frontman comes sprinting out onto the stage, bouncing around full of enthusiasm and excitement as his backing band make sure to cover his back. He grabs hold of the microphone, almost tearing it from the stand, kicking the aforementioned stand to the ground as if it’s not welcome onstage. He holds the microphone with both hands and manages to stay relatively still for a few moments, “LAS VEGAS! ARE YOU F*CKING READY!” he screams into the microphone, lowering his whole body almost hunched over the microphone as his band lead into the opening number.

Going Down Together

UserPostedImage

The very familiar leading guitar riff introduction to what is easily one of Alex Simms’ biggest hit singles to date begins and the crowd, mostly the teenage girl contingent, scream in deafening excitement as the dark-haired superstar slowly makes his way closer to the very front of the stage, bending his knees slightly in order to get a little more closer and intimate with the first couple of rows in the MGM Grand venue, the screams clearly increase as he holds out his hand and all of the youngsters in the front row battle each other in order to reach out and grasp the hand of the growingly popular pop-punk musician. As the guitars continue to lead into the song for another moment or two, Alex quickly jumps back up to full stature and slowly turns and walks back from the edge of the stage, he turns once more to face the audience in front of him, easily the biggest audience that he’s had the challenge of playing in front of, he brings the microphone up closer to his mouth and places both hands around it tightly as the guitar riff leads into the opening lyrics of the song;

“She was my sweet sixteen/My screwed up little drama queen
Just constantly firing her shots in the dark/Hoping they’d go straight to my heart
Well we both got the bruises and we both got the scars/But these souls aren’t destined for the stars
No, no, no, no, no!/They’re smeared in blood across the wall
It’s a long way down to nothing at all/But darlin’, if I’m gonna fall
I’m gonna need you to take the call/Cause I ain’t going alone”

The lyrics of the opening verse only serve to add to the enthusiasm of the female fanbase that Alex seems to have unexpectedly acquired in his pursuit of superstardom, with its lyrics almost tailor-made for that sort of young audience and his voice towing the line between powerful pop-punk and beautifully high pitched and tender at times, the girls seem to really believe that he’s singing the words for each and every one of them, the reality is that he probably never expected to attract the sort of fanbase that he has attracted, but he’s unlikely to complain, if anything he seems to revel in the support from the predominantly female crowd and pulls out all of the tricks in order to keep their overwhelming enthusiasm going for as long as possible, from the brooding stare that he gives the first few rows to the hand on chest motion throughout the song. It all amounts to the naïve youngsters views of perfection, the floppy scene hair certainly helps too. But most of all, it is the lyrics that seem to have a lot of youngster angst in amongst them;

“Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaah/We’re going down together
Our cuts and bruises will blend into one/Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
We’re going down together/And before you know it, we’ll be dead and gone
Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaah/We’re going down together, for now and forever
Before you know it, we’ll be gone/Our cuts and bruises will blend into one
She was my rebel without a cause/Made a deal with the devil with no escape clause
Now she’s living on the edge/And destruction is her middle name
Setting fire to my things/Now she’s got me joining in”

Dirty Little Heart

UserPostedImage

As the previous song finishes, the band kick into the leading guitar riff to another one of Alex’s hit singles, ‘Dirty Little Heart’ and the female contingent erupt into deafening screams and screeches of excitement. “Yo! This is for everyone that’s ever been in a sh*tty relationship. It’s for everybody that has stood their ground and said ‘You know what, I don’t f*cking deserve to be treated this way’. Hope you like it” he says with a confident smile as the band’s instrumental introduction kicks into full power and really ignites the venue and the crowd into action as they all start jumping up and down for as far as the eye can see. An image that looks very unique in this moment. Alex revels in the enthusiasm of the crowd and moves around the edges of the front of the stage with a similar energy as he brings the microphone up towards his mouth, the audience scream a little louder which makes Alex sing a little louder;

“I fell for you at the worst time /But I made a vow to make you mine
You made it clear that I’d regret it/Yet I promised you that I would be fine
So you took a chance on me/Throughout the joy and misery
And I can proudly say that I stayed true/But I can’t say the same for you

So just go/The princess turned into a whore
I don’t ever want to see your face again/I don’t wanna think about your cheating heart no more
So just go/Walk out of the door
I don’t ever want to see your face again/I don’t wanna think about your lying heart no more

The songs chorus is one that the audience go completely crazy for as the majority of the teenage fanbase all join in, giving it an even more anthemic feeling which one again creates a rather unique image. Alex’s movement on the stage shows a confidence and familiarity with life performance as he interacts with his backing band and switches momentum between the members of his backing band and the large audience in front of him, the largest that he’s performed to so far in his still relatively recently burst of fame and success. He certainly doesn’t appear arrogant but he’s got a strong stage presence and a confidence in his own ability that shines through. He knows that his words are good and that the reaction from the crowd will only confirm his belief, proven as he continues;

“I’m sure that it won’t take you too long/To find somebody new
I’ll bet lover boy is waiting/Patiently for you!
But I know that one day/You’re gonna be alone someday
And I’ll be all that you can think about/The one that got away

But for now/I may be alone
But I think that’s okay/Because I won’t always be this way
But you/You may have someone new
But I know that someday/He’ll see the real you
Yeah I know that someday/He’ll throw your dirty little heart away

I can’t believe I fell for you/Put up with all the bullsh*t that you put me through
I was stupid to think that I was the one for you/And I can proudly say that I stayed true
But I can’t say the same for you”

Golden Hearts Shine Forever

UserPostedImage

As the band wind down from the sheer enthusiasm from the previous song, there is a lull of silence as Alex takes a quick drink of water resting from the drum riser. He then walks over towards the front of the stage and looks out at the audience and smiles, “Hey, you guys had fun so far? I have one more song to play for you all. It’s a song a girl that I know, it’s about having self-belief and not giving a f*ck what people say about you. It’s not easy, you know, but you gotta learn to just not care what people think. This song is very real and the person that I wrote it for, is actually somewhere in the audience right now. So I hope you like it … Let’s go!” and with that signal towards his backing band, a quick-fire drum beat and a powerfully energetic guitar riff embrace the sound system of the venue and Alex quickly moves closer to the stage, he jumps on to a flight case located at the edges of the stage and sways his arms from side to side before singing;

“I once knew a girl who had a heart too big for this world/A heart that money just can’t buy
They tried to take it from her/They tried to take it from her!
They tried to rip it from her inside
/And she cried and cried in her room after every heartbreak
After every guy that said it would be different/That said it wouldn’t be like the last time
It’s a heartless crime/And this is what I told her

F*ck em’ they don’t know you/And they don’t deserve to
F*ck em’ they don’t know/They don’t know the real you
I’m not the only one, cause if they could see your heart/They’d be f*cking smiling too

UserPostedImage

And already the audience are more than enthusiastic, they too sway their arms from side to side and as Alex reaches out his hand to those in the front row, they enthusiastically reach out too, in a hope to just touch this enigmatic ‘scene’ figure that appears to have come out of nowhere and burst into the pop-punk stratosphere, his lyrics and the combination of insane energy and heart-pounding passion seems to work perfectly, it’s rare for somebody to know exactly who they are as musicians from the very beginning but it seems like Alex is one that knows exactly where he stands in the music industry of today and this has been a major part of his rapid-rise to stardom, it’s been less than a year and already he’s a household name with a number single and almost a 3x platinum selling debut album, but it’s the words that have been behind the success of Simms career so far, they are real and they reach out to his audience;

“She rests alone in bed/Where she overthinks her greatest fears
She places the pillow over her head/Presses it hard against her ears
Just hoping that her thoughts will go away/Like the ringing sounds that she hears every day
And nobody will ever know if she cries/They could just ask how she’s doing
But no one even tries

Well don’t you know that her heart shines bright/Trading the darkness for infinite sunlight
Everybody should follow suit and do this together/Because golden hearts shine forever
Blinding you with beauty and love/It’s a heart that belongs with the angels above

But they all try to mess her around/They all try to drag her down
I’m in dismay and this is what I’ll say/F*ck em’ they don’t know you
And they don’t deserve to/F*ck em’ they don’t know
They don’t know the real you/I’m not the only one, cause if they could see your heart
They’d be f*cking smiling too

Don’t you know that her heart shines bright/Trading the darkness for infinite sunlight
Don’t you know that her heart shines bright/Trading the darkness for infinite sunlight
And she’ll make everybody hold hands together/Because golden hearts shine forever
Blinding you with beauty and love/It’s a heart that belongs to the angels above”

It was the night of the Vegas Rocks Festival and Kato was set to perform next. He had taken time off from the No Venues tour in order to be here so he was excited. He'd been touring for a few months now and it was much needed promotion as well as the chance for him to meet some new fans. He was sitting in the dressing room, putting on his shoes as well as doing vocal exercises to warm himself up. Kato took performing both seriously and lightly. He loved performing, it was one of his things and he always wanted to have fun with it. He didn't think it should be stressful because then it would seem like a job. He always had fun with it, even if he would mess up, sing a little off key sometimes, or even stumble on his lyrics. His fans loved him regardless and so he always had a smile when performing. As he stood up and walked out of the door to his dressing room, some of the crew members were assisting him in putting on his earpiece and microphone. He was one of the headliners tonight so he knew that itself was an honor but he felt like that meant he definitely needed to put on a show. Since it was Vegas, he knew he had to dazzle the fans with something crazy and fun at the same time. He'd been rehearsing both at the venue and while on tour, completeting a set list of songs and wardrobe as well. It was minutes away from his performance, he could hear the crowd getting some music in between the artists so he knew they would be pumped already.

He was ready, more ready than he could make himself. It was only a few seconds now. He strapped on his golden fingerless gloves and then straightened out his white jacket. He was too happy to jump on that stage in front of those thousands of people. He was jumping up and down, preparing himself for the night that was in store for him. Not only was he happy about the show but he had recently been reunited with his girlfriend, who he hadn't seen in a while. Hopefully, she was watching because he had a tendency to do better when the ones he liked or loved were watching. Just before he heads out, he takes a sip of water and then clutches his hands in fists by his side. All he could think about now was the fans and their screams. With a swift head movement, he headed out to the stage as it was time for him now. No going back, no do overs, nothing but a performance and his fans. It was a good night.

PART ONE

Kato appeared on the stage after he was announced. He was using a mechanism that would shoot him up from the bottom of the stage to the top. It was one of his favorite parts of his performances. Once his music started, his first song being 'Guilty Pleasure'. As the smoke machines started going off and the cheers got louder, Kato positioned himself so he was ready for the trick. He started to sing, although he wasn't revealed yet. His now matured and deeper voice starting off his vocals for the song, which would be a very challenging thing to do since the song was so high energy and fast paced. His back up dancers were dressed in silver jumpsuits that were similar to ones you might associate with an alien or something of that nature. They march onto the stage, doing their rehearsed choreography as planned while Kato was about to make his grand entrance.

UserPostedImage

[Verse 1]
Hey baby tell me have you seen this swagger?
Hey baby tell me does it really turn you on?
Hey baby tell me do you wanna see something?
I'll make my haters wish that I was gone

[Pre-Chorus]
And you know you can't deny it
Throw your hands up everywhere
Throw your hands up everywhere
Yeah throw your hands up
Feels so good so don't you hide it
Throw your hands up everywhere
Throw your hands up everywhere
Just throw your hands up

As the song continues into the chorus, it stops suddenly as the lights start to flicker a little. The cheers, however, don't stop and instead grow louder from anticipation as to what is about to happen next. Suddenly, Kato is thrown in the air with his legs preparing for his landing onto the stage. The crowd goes insane, as they probably should, while his dancers continue their number. Kato joins them and also sings the chorus, his all white outfit in two. He slowly moves his hands to his shades, where he removes them while continuing to sing the next verse. He winks and gives his sexy smirk. It was sure to have captured the heart of every female in the room. When he starts to move to the front of the stage, his dancers do the same.

[Chorus]
I'm your guilty pleasure
My music in your e-e-ea-ar
Just like a whisper
I'll captivate you, ye-e-eah
Your guilty pleasure
Music in your e-e-ea-ar
Just like a whisper
I captivated yo-o-ou
Ye-e-eah

Kno-o-o-ow, You know
You kn-o-o-ow
Oh-h-h-h-h, Just let it go-o-o-o
(Your guilty pleasure)
Kno-o-o-ow, You know
You kn-o-o-ow
Oh-h-h-h-h, Just let it go-o-o-o
(Your guilty pleasure)
(Your guilty pleasure)

[Verse 2]
Hey baby watch the way I turn this club out
You'll never see a night like this aga-a-ain
OOh baby can't you tell that this is your song?
So show those moves I know you do so we-e-e-ll

[Pre-Chorus]
And you know you can't deny it
Throw your hands up everywhere
Throw your hands up everywhere
Yeah throw your hands up
Feels so good so don't you hide it
Throw your hands up everywhere
Throw your hands up everywhere
Just throw your hands up

[Chorus]
I'm your guilty pleasure
My music in your e-e-ea-ar
Just like a whisper
I'll captivate you, ye-e-eah (Captivate yo-o-ou)
Your guilty pleasure
Music in your e-e-ea-ar
Just like a whisper
I captivated yo-o-ou
Ye-e-eah

Once he has the crowd's attention now, the song switches to another, a track off of his album, 'Animated' which is another high energy song. As he stops and pauses for a minute, to talk to the crowd. It was one of his favorite things to do, as an artist. He felt like it was their moment and connection so he didn't want to rush anything at all. "How you guys feelin' out there tonight?" He awaits their response, a thunderous roar of applause and cheers. "You guys ready for this show, let me hear you!" They return with another loud cheer. "What? Let me hear you!!" He chuckles before he forms into a triangle with his dancers, him being in the front. He holds out his hand, as if to point to one of the girls in the audience. His voice is heard over the arena while his shades remain off at this time. His light brown eyes are almost sparkling in the light. "Pay attention, girl." He smirks before he starts singing in his falsetto voice.

UserPostedImage

[Verse 1]
I don't like the still, makes me feel like I'm all alone
She don't like the parties, always wanna stay away at home
Every time that I go out it's just another fight
I do everything she asks but never what I like
I just can't sit still at all

[Chorus]
I love anticipation (Oh, who-o-o-oa, ohh)
But she can't, she can't
She can't handle all the crazy (Oh, who-o-o-oa, ohh)
But she can't, she can't
I need to go somewhere else, can't stay here too long
I just hate I gotta do it without you
But I love the animation (Oh, who-o-o-oa, ohh)
I stay, I stay, I stay
I stay animated

Once the chorus kicks in, he begins dancing with his dancers as they start to do another choreographed number together. This includes Kato breaking away from the group, being nearer his fans but keeping up with the dancers as well. Their dance moves are so synchronized that it looks almost near perfect. Dancing was one of Kato's many talents and he was very talented at it. The crowd is loving it, the energy is almost as if Kato's eating off of it, causing him to go harder than before. He then backs back and smiles. "Ladies and gentleman, let me bring out my first guest......my boy Dominic Brown!!!!" Dominic comes out, dancing and singing the second verse to his song while Kato assists him. All the while, they continue to sing the second verse of the song, this time walking over to his fans as they grab his pants, and whatever else they can get their hands on. He loved the attention and was using it to his own advantage.

UserPostedImage

[Verse 2]
I'm stuck in this situation, I try and I try
She thinks if I loved her so bad then I wouldn't put up a fight
She don't know me
I'm not asking for much, just wanna show her to the world
I don't have no other motives, she's my only girl
She wants to do the same thing each night, bu-u-ut

[Chorus]
I love anticipation (Oh, who-o-o-oa, ohh)
But she can't, she can't
She can't handle all the crazy (Oh, who-o-o-oa, ohh)
But she can't, she can't
I need to go somewhere else, can't stay here too long
I just hate I gotta do it without you
But I love the animation (Oh, who-o-o-oa, ohh)
I stay, I stay, I stay
I stay animated

[Bridge]
It's not so easy, to do as she pleases
When it means I can't be myself
She knew who I was, and who I would be

I don't understand why it's so hard to believe
My life, my life it's no surprise
I want her to share my spotlight
I can't run and hide like she wants me to do

Oh no, baby no-o-o-o-o-o-o
Oh no, baby no-o-o-o-o-o-o

My life's too animated
I love the anticipation
(Oh, who-o-o-oa, ohh)
But she can't, she can't
She can't handle all the crazy
(Oh, who-o-o-oa, ohh)
And I love the animation
But she can't, she can't
She can't handle all the crazy
(Oh, who-o-o-oa, ohh)

During the break down of the chorus, Kato and Dominic, along with his dancers began to start moving slow motion, before coming together for some fast paced feet movement. The pounding bass in the background, only helps to heighten the performance and then the song stops, moving on to another, letting Dominic make his way off the stage. He tells the audience to, "Clap your hands to the beat yall!" A dance beat starts to play as the lights dim and he is making his way over to a pair of stairs. They lead up to a mechanism which takes him off the ground, similar to a cherry picker. He looks down at his fans while they are admiring him. "This is one of my favorite songs and I wrote it just for you." He smirks and then starts singing to his song, 'All I See'.

[Verse 1]
You're all I see
When it gets darker and hard to breathe
You're all I see
I've waited for too long, the ecstasy
Star crossed love, I never knew how it felt
But when you're gone, I don't remember no one else
No one else

[Chorus]
You're all I see
Everyone else don't matter to me
We'll be together
Ooh, you're all I see
There's not a view that can distract me
You're all I see
Everyone else don't matter to me
We'll be together
Ooh, you're all I see
There's not a view that can distract me

[Verse 2]
She's all I see
Out in the open our love can be, yeah
She's all I see
Me and her while I'm on bended knee
Ooh, beauty comes but girls like her don't
And forever young
Is just a myth so let's go
Let's go-o-o-o

[Chorus]
You're all I see
Everyone else don't matter to me
We'll be together
Ooh, you're all I see
There's not a view that can distract me
You're all I see
Everyone else don't matter to me
We'll be together
Ooh, you're all I see
There's not a view that can distract me

[Bridge]
We're too far in this now (We can't turn back)
I can still feel the warmth of your lips (On mine)
With me you'll never frown, girl
So we'll let our worries fall, fall, fall
Oooh

[Chorus]
You're all I see
Everyone else don't matter to me (Don't matter)
We'll be together
Ooh, you're all I see
There's not a view that can distract me
You're all I see (Distract me)
Everyone else don't matter to me
We'll be together (Ohhh)
Ooh, you're all I see
There's not a view that can distract me

You're all I see

When Kato finishes singing, the crowd is still on fire from the performance. They had quieted down a little while he was singing but that didn't stop them from completely cheering when he would hit his high notes and harmonize with the back up singers. Afterwards, he was lowered back onto the ground where he made his way to a chair where he was then handed his guitar. He cleared his throat as he was gently strumming on it, taking a few minutes to talk to his fans. "So, I wrote this song with my good friend, Kate or Kamikaze Kate as some of you may know her. She was my mentor actually, and she helped me get to where I am today so you guys give her a hand." The crowd cheers and then Kato chuckles. "You guys are all so amazing, I love Vegas. I'm so glad to be here and performing for you all. We're gonna have a good time tonight you know that right?" Another loud cheer as he smirks. "So this is 'One Of You'." He beings to strum the acoustic version of the song, never heard before unless you've been a participant at his shows. It was a very emotional song, and very Rock inspired. His vocals are very soft and yet strong when he sings them. Kato has a unique voice, unlike other guys. When he was younger, his voice was high and girlish but now that he had matured, it was deeper and a little nasally as well but he grew into it very well. You can hear his emotions through the song, clearly a very personal song for him.

[Verse 1]
Exhibiting myself on the bridge where we used to sit
We'd throw stuff in the river and sometimes you would spit
A pair of local youths pointlessly wasting time there
Girls would walk past giggle and laugh and little we would care

But today I found a display on the ground
Leftovers of someone laying there grunting and groaning
Tried to cover the sound of the lover around
But I was walking past and I heard her dirty moaning
Yeh .... how dare you abuse our bridge

[Chorus]
I should be pissed I know
After seeing such a show
But I don't want to break up what we had and used to do
My cheeks may have turned rouge
This secret may be huge
But there's only one of you

[Verse 2]
So the next day at school I see you hold her tiny hand
I ask you and your girlfriend where this long-term friendship stands
I get no fucking answer you're just looking at the floor
Oh has the end now happened are we kindred souls no more

And tonight I brace with no light on my face
Even in these shadows I can tell that something's coming
I hold my guitar play a bold sad bar
I'm hoping that nobody hears my empty bits of strumming
Yeh .... how dare you choose that bitch

[Chorus]
I should be pissed I know
After seeing such a show
But I don't want to break up what we had and used to do
My cheeks may have turned rouge
This secret may be huge
But there's only one of you

[Bridge]
On the bridge pondering the end
I see her holding another hand
Go past just run before this moronic guy's mind warps
I catch hold of the cheating bitch
Are you here for sex on the bridge
Live fast die young and have a beautiful looking corpse
JUMP!

[Chorus]
I should have lived I know
Should have told her where to go
But I don't want to think about what she would say and do
I may be playing the stooge
This secret may be huge
But I just couldn't hurt you

He would continue on playing, going into his other song, 'No Other Place' which was a different turn from the last song. It was still R&B inspired but with Pop influence as well. He stresses the syllables on the middle words, stretching them out as example in the first line, he emphasizes on the 'you' and then on the 'weren't', moving on to the next line quickly and swiftly but keeping his composure in his calm manner. The nice romantic beat follows as he continues into the chorus of the song, with what sounds like an added mix of his vocals for quantity sounds. Although his voice tips on the line of falsetto and tenor, he finds the middle ground being able to switch from high to medium notes. He continues to sing of love and not wanting to leave the side of his beloved and saying how they will escape into their own life with just the two of them, singing 'Gotta pull it all together and don't waste no more time/We'll be living our own world, our life (Oh yeah)/Like there's no other place around/(It's just the two of us)', the guitar ceases as you hear the light drumming in the background and he continues on to the next verse. At this point, the crowd is already swaying as the lights are dimmed with the spotlight on him. It was visible that the crowd had out their cell phones in order to portray the moment of the classic ballad.

[Verse 1]
Each morning I wake up and see you by my side
Can't remember the days when you weren't mine
I'm just tryna take it slow, I get enchanted by your glow
Is it possible? Could I really be in love?
I find myself never wanting to be away from you
Am I crazy? I think so, maybe, don't know what Imma do
I would kill to see you smile, Wanna hear that sexy sound
That escapes your lips, when I do something wrong

[Chorus]
No time exists in between our lips
And that's the way it goes
Yeah what's good for you, is good for me
Nobody else matters
Gotta pull it all together and don't waste no more time
We'll be living our own world, our life (Oh yeah)

Like there's no other place around
(It's just the two of us)
Like there's no other place around
(Something like a fool for your love)
No other place

[Verse 2]
Everyone is calling me to come on
I don't rush because I know what I want
I can put it off each time, make them angry when I lie
But it's all for you, I just don't feel anything
When I'm gone away from you, I'm lonely
Can't nobody make me feel that way when you're loving me
I just hate to see you down, I know I can't always be around
Don't fear, baby I'm always here

[Chorus]
No time exists in between our lips
And that's the way it goes
Yeah what's good for you, is good for me
Nobody else matters
Gotta pull it all together and don't waste no more time
We'll be living our own world, our life (Oh yeah)

Like there's no other place around
(It's just the two of us)
Like there's no other place around
(Something like a fool for your love)
No other place

[Bridge]
How can I force myself to stay away?
And how will I know that you will do the same?
It's times like these that I need you here, so I don't think the worst
If I could, I would just take you with me but
I'm not that selfish

[Chorus]
No time exists in between our lips
And that's the way it goes (It goes)
Yeah what's good for you (good for you), is good for me
Nobody else matters
Gotta pull it all together and don't waste no more time
We'll be living our own world, our life (Oh y-yeah)

Like there's no other place around
(It's just the two of us)
Like there's no other place around
(Something like a fool for your love)
Like there's no other place around
(It's just the two of us)
Like there's no other place around
(Something like a fool for your love)
No other place

He continues on with the somber moment of the concert, going into another fan favorite, 'Little Hints' which is all about emotion. "Another special guest of mine is gonna come out here and help me sing this. The beautiful and talented, Ms. Kourtney Steele!" The crowd cheers while she walks out there, dressed in a cute pink outfit with a frilly skirt at the end. She waves. "Hello Vegas! It's good to be here!" He can hear the crowd as they sing along with him. It really was a beautiful moment as they were bonding and connecting right before each others' eyes. He was really getting into the song, loving the moment and the mood right now. Kato was able to really play on the emotions of his songs, making for a great performance. He sings only his part and then goes on to a new song, 'IMPRINT' which was a little more upbeat than 'Little Hints' but still had that great sad tone to it. His voice was a little more bouncy as well, as he was switching up his singing often and the beat was more diverse than the last song.

[Verse 1]
I've never been the one to believe in love at first sight
But she might have changed my mind tonight
The way she flips her hair, the way she bats those eyes
I just stop and stare, she just hypnotizes..me
I'm not lying when I say that I have never seen someone as beautiful as you
Whatever you want me to say, whatever you want to hear
Ooh baby, I promise that I'll do

It's the little things she does that make me realize I'm in love

[Chorus]
We don't have to speak out loud
I can hear you from here
We don't need to prove ourselves
Our future's so clear
Touch you just like this, seal it with a kiss
I swear, it's just the little hints

UserPostedImage

[Verse 2]
When you look my way and smile I know we'll be alright
You'll protect me from harm like my own shinning knight
The way he says my name, the way he goes out his way
I just can't help myself, he's were I want to be
I know loving you won't be a mistake and my heart you wont break
Whatever you want me to say, whatever you want to hear
Ooh boy, I promise that I'll do

It's the little things he does that make me realize I'm in love

[Bridge]
We are so beyo-o-o-ond this thing called lo-o-o-ove
I'm in love with you, I'm in lust with you
I wanna be by your side, even after I die
And I know, you've heard it all before
But it wasn't me standing at your door
We don't have to rush, I just wanna know what's up?
You don't want the fancy things because I am your everything

[Verse 3]
I'll be the one that always holds you tight
Never take you for granted, I'm your Mr. Right
You don't have to believe me baby
Anything you do will drive me crazy
But I don't wanna leave with you with me
Whatever you want me to say, whatever you want to hear
Ooh baby, I promise that I'll do

[Chorus]
We don't have to speak out loud
I can hear you from here
We don't need to prove ourselves
Our future's so clear
Touch you just like this, seal it with a kiss
I swear, it's just the little hints

Kourtney thanks the crowd after her performance, "Thank you Vegas, I had a great time!" She smiles at them as Kato nods his head. "Thank you Kourtney. Kourtney Steele everyone!!!" Kato then began strumming a little lighter with a more souful tempo added in with a little bass. His voice was raspier and more sexy, a plus from his maturing voice. The ladies seemed to enjoy it the most though. His white and gold shoes were resting on the legs of the stool as he was getting himself comfortable.

[Chorus]
Cause I'm making my imprint, yeah I'm making an imprint
You'll never forget what I say
You can love me or hate me, but admit that you're thinking
Of my songs when I'm long gone away

[Verse 1]
You don't know yet, what I'll do for you
I can take it, Any harm aimed at you
That's what I'll do, hmm, that's what I'll do
When the time comes, you'll look back and hear, what I said now
You'll know what I said now

You're feeling blue, you're feeling blue, it's very true, but it ain't worth it
Just take it slow, you never know, what they know, but we ain't perfect
Hold my hand, take my hand, I'm the friend that you need lately (You need lately)
I'll be your armor and the little stuff, that won't phase me
Because..

[Chorus]
Cause I'm making my imprint, yeah I'm making an imprint
You'll never forget what I say
You can love me or hate me, but admit that you're thinking
Of my songs when I'm long gone away

[Verse 2]
They'll never understand, you and me
A special bond between two people's psyche
All your little secrets, I'll keep
You can say what I say and the day, won't seem so long

You don't know yet, what I'll do for you
I can take it, Any harm aimed at you
That's what I'll do, hmm, that's what I'll do
When the time comes, you'll look back and hear, what I said now
You'll know what I said now

You're feeling blue, you're feeling blue, it's very true, but it ain't worth it
Just take it slow, you never know, what they know, but we ain't perfect
Hold my hand, take my hand, I'm the friend that you need lately (You need lately)
I'll be your armor and the little stuff, that won't phase me
Because...

[Chorus]
Cause I'm making my imprint, yeah I'm making an imprint
You'll never forget what I say
You can love me or hate me, but admit that you're thinking
Of my songs when I'm long gone away

Cause I'm making my imprint
Cause I'm making my imprint
Cause I'm making my imprint

[Chorus]
Cause I'm making my imprint, yeah I'm making an imprint
You'll never forget what I say
You can love me or hate me, but admit that you're thinking
Of my songs when I'm long gone away

PART TWO

Once he finally finished, he handed his guitar over to one of the crew members. "That was good right?" He chuckled and then stood up, making his way over to the front again. There was a large spotlight on him still, as it was still dim in the place. He would vocalize a little, playing with the first word of his next song, 'Don't Let Me Go'. It was one of his favorites to perform just because of the pure passion and energy the song had. Even though it was slow tempoed, Kato could still feel as if he were performing one of his faster songs. He looked out into the crowd, putting his shades back on and then smiling before singing again.

[Intro]
Remember when you loved me?
Remember when you trusted me? (Remember?)
Didn't let nobody in between
Why you wanna make a scene?

[Verse 1]
We ain't been right for a minute
You think I should let you go
But my heart aint really in it
We been through this all before
Don't you remember the good times?
Or are you stuck on this mess?
I know you're upset but I don't deserve this
Just please, please

UserPostedImage

[Chorus]
Please just trust me
And I will trust you
I know it's ugly
But we're so beautiful
You know I love you
Don't be afraid
Cause we can do better
So don't you let me go

Don't you let me go-o-o-o
Don't you let me go
Don't you let me go-o-o-o
Don't you let me go

[Verse 2]
Everything that we've done till now
Won't be used for another time
We won't be having another fight
We don't need that road again
I know it hurts right in the beginnin' but
We can get past this, make the right actions
Won't let the world win

We ain't been right for a minute
Everything has led up to this
But I won't lose you in this way
Without putting up a fight
My friends all say that I'm crazy
And our love's been lost for too long
But I believe in us, I know we are strong
So please, please

[Chorus]
Please just trust me
And I will trust you
I know it's ugly
But we're so beautiful
You know I love you
Don't be afraid
Cause we can do better
So don't you let me go

[Bridge]
Just do what I ask, don't feel discouraged
If we can make it through this, we were really meant to last
We knew who we were, before everyone got involved
I've never had no regrets, just wanna give you-u
My all
Babe please

[Chorus]
Please just trust me (Just trust me!)
And I will trust you (And I will trust you)
I know it's ugly
But we're so beautiful (We're so beautiful!)
You know I love you (You know I)
Don't be afraid (I love you)
Cause we can do better
So don't you let me go

Don't you let me go-o-o-o
Don't you let me go (Oh!)
Don't you let me go-o-o-o (Ohh!)
Don't you let me go

Baby please don't let us go-o-o

Remember when you loved me?
Remember when you trusted me?

He held the last note as the crowd admired him but he wasn't over quite yet. He would let the beat play for a few minutes as he wwent to rejoin his dancers again. The lights came back to their regular lighting, the mood lifted again. He swiftly pointed out into the crowd as he began singing, then using that hand to do a swift crotch grab, similar to that of Michael Jackson, as he continued. All the time, the crowd never lacked energy or persistence in their cheering. They were always likes this for Kato. He was quickly becoming a Pop sensation and not just because of his good looks. He also had an amazing voice that couldn't be compared to anyone else in the industry really. His next song, 'Put In Work' had lots of energy and was fun to sing and perform. Some female dancers would then join, dressed in similar silver suits as the guys. Kato would start doing another choreographed number as the beat was playing, not even out of breath yet from his performance.

[Verse 1]
That girl, she can take it all
One stare and I'm ready to just take a fall
I swear, she don't know the truth
Every eye on her, lighten up the room

She'll take you down like a tiger
Play hard to get just to meet her
And she's walking in circles, you're wrapped around her finger
Need her, she holds onto the rope
And won't let go, but I won't ever leave without her

UserPostedImage

[Chorus]
And every little thing that she want
You know, She gone make you work for it
Make it nice and slow
Every day I'm there, Work, Work
I can't let her go
This girl makes me wanna put in work
Stakes never been so high, all the other girls
Don't compare so why, would I put in work?
Work, Work, she ain't worth the time
But this girl makes me wanna put in work

I wanna put in work

[Verse 2]
She don't care what a hater say
Make you wanna stay home, every day
She likes, to do her own thing
Never falls for any tricks or the lies
Or the lies, Or the lies, Or the lies, Or the lies
You can see it in her eyes

She'll take you down like a tiger
Play hard to get just to meet her
And she's walking in circles, you're wrapped around her finger
Need her, she holds onto the rope
And won't let go, but I won't ever leave without her

[Chorus]
And every little thing that she want
You know, She gone make you work for it
Make it nice and slow
Every day I'm there, Work, Work
I can't let her go
This girl makes me wanna put in work
Stakes never been so high, all the other girls
Don't compare so why, would I put in work?
Work, Work, she ain't worth the time
But this girl makes me wanna put in work

I wanna put in work

[Bridge]
I can't believe my eyes
She'll make you risk your life
Every time (She won't let you win her)
She ain't easy (You gotta put in work)
Every time she won't (She won't let you win her)
She ain't easy (You gotta put in work)

[Chorus]
And every little thing that she want
You know, She gone make you work for it
Make it nice and slow
Every day I'm there, Work, Work

The last song Kato would perform would be his latest single, 'Dodged Your Bullet'. "So everyone, it's been amazing but before I go, I just want to perform this one last song. Can I do that?" The crowd, of course, would all agree and give a very loud 'Yes' to him. He grinned. "So can I bring out somebody then?" He walked over to the center of the stage. Kato had befriended Liyah on the No Venues tour and the two had sort of become close. They both played on each others' personalities and always had a good time together. "Let me bring out my good friend.....Liyah!" As soon as her name is announced, Liyah walks to the stage and the beat starts playing. She smiles at the crowd. "Vegas!!!!!! Let's turn up!!!!" Kato laughs at her and them turns to face her. "Hey, real quick though Liyah, let them know what you mean, what you're all about...go ahead and spit a quick verse from one of your singles...show them that Asian flavor." He grinned and then Liyah giggled. "Okay, I got this. Lemme see.." Pausing for a second, her single, 'By Any Means' is heard in the background, the wild beat getting the crowd more pumped up, and she does the first three singles she released from her mixtape, as Kato allows her to get some shine as well. He wasn't a very selfish artist at all and he loved Liyah's music. She even started doing some of the verses from features such as 'Here To Party (Drop That)'. Liyah was as hyper and crazy outside as she was performing with multiple hand signals and interaction with the crowd. She was easily a favorite there to Vegas. She wasn't stiff when it came to putting on a show, she loved having fun. She would even try to mock twerking as she performed her single, 'What I Know'. Kato, the whole time, just watched her and even would recite lines along with her. The crowd absolutely loved it, not dying down once.

[Verse 1:]
Let me get the quick poll now
How many people selling songs for a couple thousand?
Get the ice and the gold watch
Don't nobody even really wanna use the clock, but we
Perceive happiness with the characteristics of living real good
But you still let ya blood stay shot up in the hood
Floss ya Bugatti and Maserati every where
But ya family cant afford to even buy that good hair
If there's anything I learned don't forget where you struggled
Don't forget all the times even school was a hustle
A lot of people didn't think I could make it
Even family telling me I'm just wastin'
But I shut that down like I do every hater
You can catch me in the countries you cant think of
But let me simplify this is not a fucking diss
Shit this aint even me tryna come off like I'm the shit
But I know I got my priorities in the clear
I can wave my stacks but then pay ya bills all year
I don't even own a house, pass that shit to my parents
Every day is a day that I'm working on my spirit
And I thank God, that it was you
Bitches wouldn't be fit to scrub my bathrooms
See you struggle and I yell, "I'm just passin' through"
No time to deal with dudes, cus my eyes is heavy
Got Grants and Benjamins stashed in the chevy
Let's get it

[Hook:]
She don't fear competition
She's on a first class mission
Ooh, ain't nothing better than her ambition
It's something about a female who can get money
By any means, By any means (x2)

[Verse 2:]
I'm not playing, this is not a game
Nor do I do it just for money and the fame
See I had to accept at a very young age
When life throws you lemons, you can sell ya lemonade
Everything I do is for my family, never let a rat bitch try to derail me
I'm quick to catch an attitude but what the fuck you gone do?
You can throw them icy stares to ya future kids
Li Lang never worry bout another's biz
My eyes are steady, just a little closed
But they open wide enough to make them zeros
Fuck you said about me? Oh, I am not relevant
But I'm selling out shows, bitches got me hella bent
I am not a problem but you aggravated
Why these chicks so mad that Liyah ain't fadin?
While you runnin ya mouth, I'm signing these deals
Grab a couple of venues and you see how they feel
Even if you don't think I'm a monster, respect the game cus its not just a conquer
Its domination, when you hear every song that I'm on bumpin through ya ears
I'm the best female you done seen in years
I'm the only female that's territorial
I mean I control the entire Asian nation, I'm loyal
Catch me with gold, bitches thinking that I'm royal
Its coming to America, Its about damn time that we rise
Fuck what you know cus I'm living with the legends of the skies

Let's get it

She don't fear competition
She's on a first class mission
Ooh, ain't nothing better than her ambition
It's something about a female who can get money
By any means, By any means

[Verse 3:]
One time for bad bitches living everywhere
Two times for my bitches that don't care
And three times is a standing ovation
Watch the anger in your eyes when I'm in first place and,
Celebrate every moment of the year
Let em know that I'm coming for ya every damn year
Let em see when they slackin'
And when they think I'm gone I'm in the back and
I'm lightin up a blunt and I smoke it for myself
Bitches need a lifeline lookin like the help
And I'll take all the punches that you throw
Just make sure you keep ya wigs fully in sew
You can't snatch what is already real
It takes a lame ass bitch to try and attack outta fear
But like I said, it's all good in the Pehn
You still sayin the same shit from back then
Let me help you get on with ya life
If shit aint poppin you can kiss my white rice (Ha!)
Fuck with me right now

[Hook:]
She don't fear competition
She's on a first class mission
Ooh, ain't nothing better than her ambition
It's something about a female who can get money
By any means, By any means

Get money, Get money, F***k love (x8)

[Intro: Spoken]
Mama used to tell me that I ran up out her womb
I was already ready to take over the world
I just chose the hardest path I could
But...I never been one to run scared (Laughs)

[Verse 1]
I used to run with all these chickens, Get high and never listen
Till the day they caught my ass, Thought that I was goin to prison
But thank god that I didn't, Had a 'get outta jail free' ticket
Cause my life was monopoly, No resistance did you ever see
Whatever was said was gone be done, Any scared bitches always had time to run
But never me nope, I chose this life, Aint got no time to be somebody's wife
I raise my middle finger to the law, they can all suck a dick and get it raw
Used to fear for my life in the NYC, but its the only city that ever made me
Came across the water, not no border, but this aint a diss
Get money how the fuck you want and never have to make a wish
I seen the babies walk and crawl, kids dying, I done seen it all
My nana used to beg to me and pray for me but I didn't see
No change, all I saw was change, enough for me to get this pinky ring
But I kept doing the same thing, never did gang bang
But I might as well have cus the streets of BK never let me stay away
And now it's fuck you get money all day

[Hook]
Get loud, it's time to celebrate
Stay wild, don't you ever, ever change
Don't ever change
She'll pick up the lucky reigns
Because, it doesn't matter what you do
Just pay ya dues, Imma pay my dues

[Verse 2]
I stay reppin' my city cause they saw my motherfuckin' shine
Now I'm gone stay in my city till that motherfucker mine
Every chick that's on that corner, they all my ride or dies
Always built this bad bitch up when she came up with them rhymes
I never introduce myself, I let my paper talk show it in my walk
Fuck what you thought, or what you heard throw that shit to the birds
A spoken word, everything I learned
You aint got no spine like a fuckin' worm
All these bitches need a fuckin' perm
Aint got time for that, as matter of fact
Aint gotta wear tracks, cause I got it like that
Light a few, puff puff pass got them lookin' at my ass
But I'm Asian so its non existent, I can feel the water tricklin'
So I take a few drinks to the head
Never promised to be perfect, but swear to god I'm worth it
You do ya dirty work and meanwhile I'm tryna stay lit
Done with the strugglin', can we please pass out the hearses?

[Hook]
Get loud, it's time to celebrate
Stay wild, don't you ever, ever change
Don't ever change
She'll pick up the lucky reigns
Because, it doesn't matter what you do
Just pay ya dues, Imma pay my dues

[Outro]
Turn up all my shit, she be singing to my hits
And I'm gone, but we wildin', every day we in this bitch
Liyah gettin' rich, wear my gold on my wrist
Live my life to the fullest and I don't regret it

[Hook]
Get loud, it's time to celebrate
Stay wild, don't you ever, ever change
Don't ever change
She'll pick up the lucky reigns
Because, it doesn't matter what you do
Just pay ya dues

[Chorus]
Oh mercy me, got the weed and the liquor to work out for me
And Oh what a night, girls and music that going to make it right
So drop that, beat, bass, brass, ass, just dance, (dance) Dance (dance) Dance
So drop that, beat, bass, brass, ass, just dance, (dance) Dance (dance) Dance

Yo, Yo

Spaceship is leaving, going alien on bitches
Kush I'm receiving, puff puff pass when you get it (Smoke!)
Drink it or leave it, ain't finna waste no good liquor
Step up in there with my clique, make them rats all scatter
I am the party, can't nobody kill my vibe
Cops being called but I'm stayin on my high
Got a couple of Asian's, but them bitches can blend in
Got the whole team schemin', this is just the beginnin'
If you ain't passed out by now we just gone keep on goin
Don't acknowledge them lames, they just mad cus they can't
Even get in my lane, with that fresh coat of paint
On my new new shit, boo boo pick up ya weight
Got ya man at my house when I'm rollin up my stack
Let him hold a couple bands so he can know just where it's at
I'm not in to actin' bougie, on my life I'm never that
You just throwin out ya feelings but I keep on with them facts (Damn)
It dont matter where you from I can always send you back
But I'm trippin with my friends while you always lookin mad
Let me throw a couple metaphors so you can understand
I'm fucking with the industry and you playing with ya hand (bitch)

She stops and looks at Kato. "Lemme stop takin over ya concert! Yall give it up for my boo Kato. He look fine don't he?" She giggles again as Kato shakes his head. She then began rapping her lines in the song as Kato is in the background with his vocals, ad libbing and playing off hers. They quickly join together, side by side, as he starts singing, as if singing to her. She follows his lead, pretending to not be interested in him as Kato continues singing to her. He grabs her hand and holds it to his chest but Liyah rolls her eyes and then Kato smirks, dancing with his dancers. He had managed to stay on key the entire song, even during the higher notes. Kato felt amazing while performing this song and he couldn't help it. Liyah was also great at hyping up the crowd and interacting with them as well. While Kato did his thing, Liyah didn't slack on either. She was dancing and having fun on the stage just as much as the fans were in the stands.

Dodged that bullet, I dodged your bullet (Yup) (x8)

[Rap: Liyah]
Now, every day I used to love you and want you
But all you ever did was just play me like a fool
Yup, I guess I never was enough for you
But that's okay I got it boo, we can play it by ya own rules
All them feelings that I had, boy they dead and gone
You can take a seat and stop blowin' up my phone
You can catch me on t.v.
You see me?
All them other chicks ain't got nothin' on Li Li!

[Verse 1]
I must be out of my mind, To think you'd feel the same
And now you're still figuring out, that I was the one girl
He can be all sweet, and serenade
He can't do it like me, no it's not the same
I see you finally see that now

It kills you inside
To know that you missed your chance
Forever telling me I wasn't good enough
So now you watch me from a distance
Thank god you did
Everything you did
Cause now I found my best friend
Yeeah

[Chorus]
You're feeling like you were wrong, every single night he's gone
I'm through with you to the fullest
Cause I dodged your bullet, and I'm
Never going back again, no it's never happenin'
I'm through with you to the fullest
Glad I dodged your bullet

Oh (Dodged that bullet)
Whoa oh oh (Na na na)
Whoa oh oh (Na na na)
I dodged it, dodged your bullet

[Verse 2]
I hope you sleep at night, Knowing you love me
But I'll just be an image in your head
He'll never take you there, Like you know I could have
Your just a trophy in his bed, his ego fed
But he don't understand you girl, noo

It kills you inside
To know that you missed your chance
Forever telling me I wasn't good enough
So now you watch me from a distance
Thank god you did (Thank god you did)
Everything you did (Everything you did)
Cause now I found my best friend, who-oa

[Chorus]
You're feeling like you were wrong, every single night he's gone
I'm through with you to the fullest
Cause I dodged your bullet, and I'm
Never going back again, no it's never happenin'
I'm through with you to the fullest
Glad I dodged your bullet

Dodged that bullet, I dodged your bullet (Yup) (x8)

You're feeling like you were wrong, every single night he's gone
I'm through with you to the fullest
Cause I dodged your bullet, and I'm
Never going back again, no it's never happenin'
I'm through with you to the fullest
Glad I dodged your bullet

Oh (Dodged that bullet)
Whoa oh oh (Na na na)
Whoa oh oh (Na na na)
I dodged it, dodged your bullet

Vegas ! Imma need you to clap your hands and make some noise for Rum & Coke !!!!!
______________________________________________________________________________

Everyone in the crowd goes wild as the announcer yells Rum & Coke's name . This goes on for a while , but even after 45 seconds of screaming , nobody enters the stage . The fans are very excited , so they continue screaming , regardless of the empty stage . 45 seconds turns into a minute and a minute turns into 2 and still the audience is going while . Just then , the whole stage lights up , so bright it puts an emphasis on how dark it is starting to get only at 5:00 . It startles everybody at first , but then the loyal fans get right back to cheering . Next thing you know all lights shut off and when they turn back on , Rum & Coke is on the stage , Rum on the left and Coke on the right . They are both dressed alike , both wearing mini corrset dresses , Rum's is black and gold and Coke's is white and gold . Everybody begins to scream at the top of their lungs when they finally see the two . Rum & Coke stands their , hands on their hips , and glances at the crowd fiercely . Coke flips her hair right before finally raising her microphone to her lips .

Fame is a cage ...

She sings , beginning 'Failed Escape' as an a capella , taking a big pause after the line . During the break of this line , Rum & Coke swiftly takes a small step up .

Without a key ...

Once again , she takes a break in between the line and during this break Rum & Coke takes another small step , making it dramatic , just like the last time with how gracefully it was . This continues for the next 2 lines of the first verse . The crowd cheers lightly as this happens , trying their best not to yell over Coke's voice .

Without a lock ...

Escape if you please ...

Next thing you know , the instrumental finally comes on and Rum & Coke stands in their spots as dancers begin to make their way onto the stage , all dancing freely but at the same time in a ballet style . They do this until they finally get in a formation , surrounding Rum & Coke , and soon the dancers and Rum & Coke begins a lively choreography mixed with a ballet and hip hop style .

Or you could just ... sail away ...
A reverie , a reverie
Did you hear the white rabbit call my name ?
It's calling my name

... Or is it just me ?

Now at this point , everybody begins to frantically spin around Coke , filling it with jumps , tumbles and pirouettes . The crowd cheers for all the excitement from the choreography and at the song . This happens all throughout the pre-hook and when it's over , everybody falls down on the floor right when Coke starts to sing the hook . It is very dramatic as the dark instrumental of the song fills the ears of the audience along with Coke's soothing voice and even the lights on the stage dim . Coke just stands there in the middle of all the dancers laying flat on the floor .

I cannot tell
Sometimes I loose myself
It really doesn't make much sense
It's just a failed ....
Escape

Cause I can't face the Hell
I wasn't made for this
No human is
But I was a human
Now I'm a mannequin .

The dancers are still on the floor and Coke is still standing in the middle of the stage , but now Coke slowly begins to walk towards the crowd as she sings . The music winds down as this happen . It's not the end of the song , but it is the end of the performance for the song .

Trapped in this cage,
Feeling ... lonely with no hopes of escape
But that's not the case ... Nay .
Sitting in this cage,
Feeling ... absolutely nothing .
Dissocia...
-ted

The audience cheers loudly as it's apparent that Coke is done singing the song and next thing you know , the instrumental to ' Trap Life ' begins right then and there .

Rum rises from off of the floor and walks to the front of the stage as she begins to vocalize . The dancers get up as well , but stays on the floor . They all begin to crawl to the front of the stage like cats as the instrumental introduction of the song plays . Next thing you know , the beat drops and everybody is up on their feet . Rum is now is now standing up tall as the beat pauses right at that moment for a good 5 seconds . She looks around at the other dancers and when the beat comes back on , Rum begisn to sing and with the dancers she grinds in a squat position with her legs wider apart than in an actual squat and after every grind , gets lower . This goes on point with the beat of the song , as it drops after pretty much every line she sings in the first verse .

They told you to set a price
Of what you're willin' to gain and lose
And if it ever became too expensive
Then the game isn't for you
Too bad you didn't listen
'Cause now you're payments are due
You said you'd do anything for it
Do you realize how far I could stretch anything to ?

By the end of the first verse , Rum gets in a crouching stance and reaches out to the crowd , touching hands and ect. as she sings . The dancers rolls back onto the floor and begins to crawl again , but with less effort like when they were crawling like cats and more weak , matching up perfectly with the lyrics . This continues throughout the pre-hook .

So now you're feet just move on the pavement I paved for you
And now you only wear the shoes that I buy for you

I wonder why you don't speak of Holly
In the same tone you used to
And why you're always poppin' mollies
But not for the same reason they do ?

The hook comes on and Rum rises up to her feet and puts her hand on her hip as the dancers who were just crawling , falls down and lays on the floor once again . Rum strikes her pose and the dancers stay on the ground for the whole hook . Once it's over , Rum slowly moves her shoulders and hips from side to side as she goes back to her crouching stance for the second verse . The dancers repeats the choreography that was just done but instead of falling to the floor for the hook , they spring up an do a hip hop style of dancing . Rum stays crouched on the edge of the stage singing to the crowd and hyping them up during the hook as they dance .

And it is was what you forgot you knew
That left you so damn vulnerable
The fast lane called for you ...
You pictured your name in flashing lights
But cropped out ... the image of the price
And that's how you got schooled

And now you're feet just move on the pavement I paved for you
And now you only wear the shoes that I buy for you

I wonder why you don't speak of Holly
In the same tone you used to
And why you're always poppin' mollies
But not for the same reason they do ?

Trap life
Be careful for what you wish
'Cause everything thing advertised isn't what it is
Trap life
Glamorized to the highest
But you better know for exactly what reason that is ...

The dancers once again drop all the way to the floor and the lights dim and what is left on , shines on Coke . She begins to sing the first verse to ' But It Felt Good ' as she stands up straight .

I'm lost in my own world ... right now
Why is everything around me dancing around ?
Couldn't face reality ... not right now
Headed for the poison , my sorrows will drown

At this time , a few of the dancers get up and begin to walk with Coke to the beat . It's not a strut , but ore like them having fun while trying to go with the beat . After she finishes singing the first verse , she dips to the floor and is now crouched like Rum is on the other side of the stage . She stays like that for the whole pre-hook and the dancers does a hip hop styled choreography . This continues on until the hook in sung , then Rum & Coke grinds their way up from their crouching position at the same time .

But in case we died ...
At least I'm satisfied
Yea I may be a fiend... a fiend
The consequences slipped my mind
C-c-c-cause it felt good .
Cause it felt good ... aah ...
Cause it felt good
Cause it ... but it ...
But it felt good .

By the end of the song they are both up from the ground and are striking poses . The crowd has been cheering for a while now , excited for all the music and stuff going on , on stage . They now begin to perform ' Painted Faces ' which choreography is the same as when they performed at the Goldies nothing but a month or two ago .

Vegas ... we need to have a talk .

Rum says in a sexy accent , interacting with the crowd . The crowd cheers loving this . Coke begins to start the song . They know the song , so they begin singing along with her .

Seems like everybody's stressing
Losing their wits over this recession
Slowly running out ... of strength
And turning their backs on common sense .

But yo ...

Just as the pre-hook started to be sung , Rum & Coke began to dance . The routine for the first line was 2 belly rolls to the left a snap and then 2 belly rolls to the right and another snap . On the second line Rum & Coke whips their hair to the left then right and throws their arms in the air snapping them , dropping them really quick , putting their right foot in front , turning sideways as they gyrate for the rest of the pre-hook . The crowd roars seeing the ' ratchet ' dance turned into something way cuter by the two . That's when they finally flip their hair and turns their whole body back to facing the crowd as Coke begins to start on the hook .

Who do you think you've fooled ?
Who do you think I am ?
I've caught you on all your bull
And to expose it , I'm determined ...

Because , I'm aware ...

Hey !

Of painted faces .
Yea I'm aware ... Of painted faces .

From the start ... I admit ... I wasn't .
But now I'm aware ...
Of painted faces .

Once the hook is done , Rum & Coke begin to strut to the front of the stage , just in time for Coke to start singing the second verse . While she is doing that Rum is next to her doing one of those , ' I'm in my zone ' dances .

Seems like everybody commits crime
But only few actually do the time
Violence slowly taking over our lives
Warfare son to wipe out all mankind .

But yo ...

This time in the pre-hook the beats turns to a sick hip hop beat . Which ... you know what that means right ? Rum grinds her way to the floor , whipping her ponytail while Coke belly rolls , still standing up , and whips her hair the same time Rum whips her ponytail . The crowd goes crazy over those moves , to the point where you can barely hear Coke's soft voice .

Who do you think you've fooled ?
Who do you think I am ?
I've caught you on all your bull
And to expose it , I'm determined ...

Once the pre-hook is over , the beat goes back to the regular one . Rum is now crouching leaning in with her shoulders on cue , making one of those stank faces .

Because , I'm aware ... Of painted faces .
Yea I'm aware ... Of painted faces .

Because , I'm aware ... Of painted faces .
Yea I'm aware ... Of painted faces .

From the start ... I admit ... I wasn't .
But now I'm aware ...

Coke starts to bend her back as she sings the last of the hook and once she's , but then whips her hair to the front and fiercely looks at the crowd with her hands on her hip and in her high pitched voice says the last line .

Of painted faces .

The crowd cheers and screams for them really loudly as the two strikes their poses . The two raise the microphone to their lips . Airemese starts to sing ' Cold World ' a capella first .

Cold world ... What more can I say ?
You mock me when I'm blind
And torture me when I'm awake

Then right after her , Rum begins to sing the Spanish version .

Frio mundo ... que mas puedo decir ?
Te burlas de mi cuando estoy ciego
Y me tortura cuando estoy despierto

Then next thing you know , they are both singing the song together , but in 2 different languages . The crowd cheers for how well their voices fit together as they stand in their place and continues to sing the same 3 lines over and over again . This gets the crowd really hype as by every time they repeat , they vocalize more than the last . Once they sing the lines again for the last time , they bring it to an end and sings the last 3 lines in both languages together .

Cold word ... what more can I say ?
Every strong empire ...
Must fall someday

The audience yells loud for the little duet they just did . Once they calm down , Rum begins to rap slowly .

Me , myself and I , that's who trust the most
Well ... they're the only people I trust and that's just how life should go
'Cause the lies they're feeding you are getting out of control
And the way you're eating them up is just remarkable
Sorry for being bold , but the truth should be told
In God We Trust , they ain't trusting the God I know
Land of the Free ? More like land of the most ...
Dot dot dot , enslaved ; the most controlled
Today's biggest trend : A black blindfold
Somewhere in wonderland crossing the yellow brick road
Listen close and slowly set down your shovel
And hear what they purposely didn't muffle ...
Just to make sure you stay muddled

The majority of the crowd notices that this song is not on their sophomore album , ' Epiphany ' , and jumps up and down for it . But right when what seems to be the first verse is done and some kind of hook should be coming on , Coke waves her hands and Rum stops singing .[/color]

Woah , woah , woah , hold up Rum . Damn , can we get finished performing the songs off of the album before you start handing out our new stuff ?

The rest of the audience now screams , just catching on . Rum & Coke giggled at all the excitement .

Well damn , what you wanna do Coke ? Give away the whole album ?

Well , you're right . Hmm .... how about we take them back ?

Mkay , let's do that then .

The crowd cheers for their little interaction with each other and anticipates one of Rum & Coke's old songs . Just then the stage fills up with smoke and a lime light points to Coke who is on the floor , in character , acting as if she is miserable , lonely , and bitter , all while sitting there in fetus position and looking around the floor . Most of the smoke clears out , but some lays low , making the stage setting look misty . Shadows of leafless Oak Woods project on the wall behind her . She is wearing a ballerina outfit except the shoes are in her hand covered in dirt . The bottom of her stockings are dirty as well , and they are torn on the foot part . The tutu she has on looks dingy , and her hair in wild curls , to make it look like she has been running all day . Then the song starts .

Find myself picking up the pieces of me that you discarded
So this is what they talk about when they say broken-hearted
Thought I was a together kind of person, the type who had a handle
As fate would have it I'm exploding like a roman candle

While she is singing she is on the floor doing ballet moves , slowly getting up , and a few background dancers stroll in and start dancing with her as the chorus of the song flows in . Everybody in the crowd has glow sticks , waving them side to side , cheering and wooing lightly . You can hear a lot of them singing along .

And it's pretty in the sky
Such a beautiful way to die
But I want my sparkle back
Why does it always fade to black?

Then Coke & the dancers dance a little faster , still doing ballet . The wall behind them changes to alot of colors , and then it flashes white while red "snow" , falls onto the stage . The dancers form around Coke hiding her and the music stops . They all jump out and the song comes back on and you can see Rum & Coke has on a different outfit . this time their hair is in a bun . Coke has on red lipstick on , and a white lace dress . As soon as the song comes back on Coke starts to sing again .

I thought that ignition meant the beginning of something
Really got me going and let me fizzle to nothing
You could have had anything you wanted from me, I'm a catch
I looked up to you so much, it's a shame you never noticed that

And it's pretty in the sky
Such a beautiful way to die
But I want my sparkle back
Why does it always fade to black

The song slows down , and the dance moves get a little more dramatic . As soon as Coke hits the last note of the second verse , the music stops and Rum begins to rap the last part of Fade . The audience roars , as she walks to center stage and Coke is in the back dancing with the other dancers . Rum has a bun in her head , with a black lace dress on , with white lipstick . While she slowly walks to the center of the stage , there are dancers , swifting and swaying behind her . While she is rapping Coke sings the original part of the real song .

I just wanted to be loved
Did you mean to blow me up
I just wanted to be loved
Did you mean to blow me up
I just wanted to be loved loved loved
I just wanted to be loved loved loved
I just wanted to be loved loved loved
I just wanted to be loved loved loved...

And it's pretty in the sky
Such a beautiful way to die
But I want my sparkle back
Why does it always fade to black?

Did you mean to blow me up
I just wanted to be loved
I just wanted us to be 2
In 1 whole
But I guess thats asking for too much
And I guess thats making a big fuss
The agitations
Altercations
Arguments
Just for the intimation , between us
Did you really mean to blow me up
You wanted to be loved
But then you had enough
Couldn't put up
Or pass by
Or Leave me be
Or Say hi
Never even got to say goodbye
Finished me off
Drowned me in your lies
Uh ,
But , at least its pretty in the sky
The beautifullest way I know how to die

Afterwards Coke sings the last part and Rum joins her . The crowd yells loudly for this as everything on the stage begins to wind down , including the dancers .

Find myself picking up the pieces of me that you discarded
So this is what they talk about when they say broken-hearted
Thought I was a together kind of person, the type who had a handle
As fate would have it I'm exploding like a roman candle

And it's pretty in the sky
Such a beautiful way to die
But I want my sparkle back
Why does it always fade to black?

Everyone in the audience screams to the top of their lungs for the amazing performance Rum & Coke just put on . The two stands there and smiles at everyone , waving and giggling at all the people cheering and screaming their names . They obviously haven't gotten used to it yet .

Thank you Vegas !

Ryan Ross Hernandez Live at Vegas Rocks Festival 2013

UserPostedImage

Full Band Set #1

A few minutes past the official start time of his set pass, as the technicians quickly set-up the proper equipment for Hernandez and the rest of the large band playing behind him. The lights remain out on the stage, the crowd noise masking any hurried footsteps from the techs who are putting the final touches on stage. At about eight minutes past the hour, dim lights appear as Ryan's bandmates take their respective spots on the stage, one brighter limelight shining towards the front of the show. The crowd noise becomes ecstatic once they catch a glimpse of Ryan Ross Hernandez grabbing his guitar from the stand and strapping it around his back. He steps entirely under the spotlight, the audience in attendance showering the musician in excited cheers. He smirks, looking out at the massive crowd before him for a moment, giving them a simple nod before starting to play the opening chords for his current single "Going Down to the River." While the visuals are still quite bear, as has always been the case for Hernandez's concerts, this festival performance takes into show what is likely the most elaborate stage work to be found at one of Ryan's shows; that being screen projections at the back, standing behind the band, which paints some imagery that go along with the specific song being played. A simple, yet daring technology that has been carried over from Hernandez's current tour.

Ryan plays the breezy opening chords for "Going Down to the River," with a smile, bringing a summery feel to the chilly fall night in the desert. The majority of the crowd obviously fans of RRH, enough to stay all day to see his set closing the festival, join in the foot stomping and hand clapping in the chorus when the music drops and Ryan, along with his two back-up singers sing the chorus. Some fans joining in to echo.

You got your pretty hair down, down
In your favorite party dress
I can watch your beauty and raven hair run wild with the breeze by the river

Won't you sing, sing, sing, like this is a familiar song?
Everyone going down to the river
I'll trade my day to feel this free by the river every night

He keeps the same cool atmosphere when jumping to the next chorus. The singer who had just recovered a couple of months earlier from throat surgery, showing no signs of it tonight as he sings each line as written, with an added sense of confidence. That confidence in his voice adding to the already strong stage presence the 36 year old posses. After the second time around with the chorus, the band change the tempo to a beat down, the lights finally fully rising and giving the crowd a full-view of the stage. Hernandez swaying his body while he plays a solo, moving in front of the drummer as they trade off sonic stepping stones for the other to build on, while the bass, keys, and slide guitar all continue, along the backing singers and crowd still clapping along to the grove, but all taking a backseat once the guitar solo keeps up a notch to having Hernandez sitting on top of a guitar amp, closer to the fans as he rocks his head while playing.

Ryan stands up from the amp, placing the guitar back on its stand as a guitar tech rushes on stage to hand him an acoustic guitar, placing it around his back as he smirks while looking out at the crowd. "Good evening, everyone. Thank you all for sticking around this long." He humbly tells the massive audience before him. "We got a long set packed with music for you guys. We're gonna play up until curfew, if not later." Ryan mentions to the fans who welcome the idea with loud cheers. He turns his attention back down to his guitar, playing a few chords before settling into a chord progression. He plays away from the microphone stand for a moment, before leaning forth to the stand once he starts to softly sing, just his voice and guitar playing.

Catch a boat to England, baby
Maybe to Spain
Wherever I have gone
Wherever I've been and gone
Wherever I have gone
The blues it run the game

Kicking off the second song of the evening with a cover of "Blues Run the Game", in the vein of Simon and Garfunkel. The singer-songwriter plays most of the song, skipping a few lines here and there, before the rest of the band joins in and get a positive crowd response once the melody changes to go along with one of his own songs now in "California's Sweet Unknown. One of his backing guitarist's Zane, picks up the electric duties on this track as Ryan focuses on the acoustic playing the melody, which named appropriately, works as a easygoing Laurel Canyon sonic vibe. The length of the song is likely extended double the runtime the album version posses, as this version features various instrumental breaks and guitar solo, traded off between Zane and Ryan. About the final two minutes dedicated solely to each band member having a time to have their skills shines, be it if the backing singers sing a honey-sweet harmony or the drummer gets a chance at a drum break.

The next song proves with how much ease is the 36 year old musician able to move from one genre to the next. With an electric guitar back on him, Hernandez wastes little time to jump right into the opening melody for "Slow Dancing in a Bed Full of Teardrops" which since its release years ago, has become a staple in his live shows. Tonight in Vegas its no different, judging by the loud shrieks and screams coming from the women in the audience as he plays the bluesy chords. He sings with a small husk to his voice, an hint of added charm to the way he sings the slow-burner of a song. The third song in already proves one of the best guitar solo's by way of Ryan Ross Hernandez this evening. He steps away from the microphone, standing deadcenter in the middle of the stage as he plays a haunting, heavily blues-influenced solo; his Eric Clapton influences in full display currently. The solo goes on for about six minutes after singing the entire song, a europhic moment as Hernandez mesmerizes the crowd before him with his talents with a guitar strapped on. The band continues to play solidly behind him, keeping up with every twist and turn that comes from the man's guitar.

"I've said this before about this song I'm about to play, but it remains true. This song is for my future wife, wherever in this big ol' world she might be. It's called Standstill for Today." RRH back on an acoustic guitar, he plays the peaceful song off his upcoming album, Traveling Tales. It serves, sonically, as almost a relaxation from the previous song, but difficult to ignore. Ryan sings it with such a heartfelt echo in his voice, telling this woman, and mostly himself, that while things are at a standstill, they won't always be; just as long as she can take him just as he is, flaws included.

He continues his trading on and off from acoustic and electric guitars, showing off his talents on both ends of the spectrum, while keeping the crowd's focus entirely. "Chapter one," is all Ryan says before starting to play the next song, easily recognizable as "Moment You Start Living" from his 2012 album release, Break in the Clouds.

The moment I learn there's a world outside
I'm gonna buy myself an old house with an attic
Make sure it has no windows so I won't see the time passing
And I'll stay on my own
Enjoy the beauty of living on your own

"Chapter two," Hernandez says quickly, the melody changing slightly as the band follows to the second portion of the song, creating a more blues/jazzy transition, opposite from the beginning which features more of a folk sound.

Maybe the last decade and some years is a dream I haven't woken up from yet
Perhaps I'm still a naive young kid
Who just wants to play his guitar on a big stage
With an audience who knows his songs
And maybe meet a few pretty women who treat him right

This is the first part of the set that seems to focus clearly more on the electric side of RRH's guitar skills as he switches between electric guitars, but the next three songs, Moment You Start Living included, feature some extended, awe-worthy solo's that should make any fans of Hernandez who prefer his bluesy side, quite happy. A cover of the J.J. Cale classic, "Call Me the Breeze", provides a irresistible groove that even has Ryan himself moving his hips as he plays. The cover provides a transition into his own song in the shape of "Hold On, Hold On, Hold On", another blues burner, heavily backed by some spectacular guitar work.

Solo Set

The light dim down on stage once we reach the midway point of the show. Ryan is handed another guitar while the rest of his band exits the stage. Anyone who's attended a Ryan Ross Hernandez show in the past knowing that usually an acoustic, solo portion of the set is to be found. He bops his head lightly once he starts to play a melody, closing his eyes when he closes back into the back and sings softly in his deep vocal tone.

Hey little girl, is your daddy home?
Did he go and leave you all alone now?
I got a bad desire
Oh, oh, oh, I'm on fire

The set obviously opens with a cover of the Bruce Springsteen classic, "I'm on Fire". He plays the entire song in the same peaceful matter, his voice a near-whisper with how ease he sings it. Ryan slowly transitions into another song from the 1980s in Prince's "Lttle Red Corvette" that is easily recognizable by much of the crowd.

I guess I must be dumb
You had a pocket full of horses
Trojan, and some of them used
But it was Saturday night
I guess that makes it all right
And you say "what have I got to lose?"
And honey I say

Little red Corvette
Baby, you're much too fast
Little red Corvette
You need a love that's gonna last

RRH's cover of "Little Red Corvette" serving as another showing of just how his musical abilites range, taking a song from left field and working it into playing well in his range. "In some ways, I guess we can relate those two covers to this next song, which is one of mine," he simply says, with a smile creeping on the corner of his lips as he puts his ear pieces that were hanging around his ear back inside them. Hernandez steps back from the microphone and coughs as he plays a few notes to make sure his guitar is in tone as he dives into "The Halfhearted Lover". The lights lower again, now there is just a a row of circular spotlights around Ryan, and a more prominent one shining on him. Moving on." Just as soon as he says that he starts playing a rhythmically, paced guitar picking riff. He adjusts the earpiece in his ears as he quickly preps for the next song. As soon as he plays the opening riff, the fans go a buzz knowing exactly what song it is. Off his third studio album, "The World Is Black & White" a favorite among fans and Hernandez himself, who has previously mentioned the song as being one of the best he has written. When he reaches the bridge, he progressively starts to sing in a higher pitch tone. He holds the final note for a few seconds as the fans applaud him. Ryan returns to his zone singing wise during the final chorus. He continues playing the melody as he leans in more into the microphone. "Thank you, Las Vegas."

Encore

The lights dim down to achieve a more personal setting once Ryan and company return to the show to play the encore. The next song has a slow build-up to it, begining with the drums and going from there to the bass, keys, and guitars respectively. The light rise up again once Ryan starts to play the opening guitar solo, letting everyone know that it's The Story of a Misunderstood Man. He showed off a swirling guitar work repertoire, with the huge instrumentation behind him to create a organic sound. His vocals sound as crisp as ever, really saving the best for last. While he sings, he continues to play a circular guitar riff. At any rate, Hernandez always returns to his defining vocal gesture - the line that slides down like a contented sigh or up like a raised eyebrow, giving his beloved hits their air of easy intimacy, it's tempered by a plaintive, sweet melancholy that carries plenty of emotion and meaning.

One too many nights were the ones that
Once revolved around you
Recollect all the shattered pieces
Praying this home won't fall through, again
All my friends accused me of losing my mind

But I swore I could handle it

You sing me a song of how beautiful we could one day be
But you go back one day and turn it into a goodbye song
And I lived in your dark twisted games for one day too long
But you promised me every night that the grass would get greener eventually
Wonderin' which gray shade of you I might get on the phone, tonight
Well I stopped calling back and this song is to let you know why

At this point a sea of arms are seen from the immense crowd at hand, each one echoing behind Ryan's every vocal, to such extent that the crowd vocals nearly overpower the audibility of Ryan's own voice through the PA system. A pedal steel is now added to the mix, adding even a greater amount of mournfulness to the already slow burning kiss off of a ballad. All the instrumentation quickly starts to build up and become more powerful towards at the bridge of the song.

You are a philosopher at sorry
And making women blind with your wit and charm
Never impressed by someone who figures you out
All the girls that you've ruined have lifeless eyes
Cause you burned them out

But I stopped your games
Before fire could catch me
So don't look down
I'm shining over your sad, lonely town

Ryan held onto the final note, but as soon as he finishes, the audience is caught by surprise because of the fireworks that fly from above the stage. Giving meaning to the shining reference in the song. Ryan dives into an emotionally charged guitar solo, not even singing the final chorus or for that matter getting so invested in the solo that he forgot about it. He takes a few steps back away from the microphone as, the audience who don't need to be to as they sing in union the final chorus, as Ryan finishes off the night with a soft guitar whisper, before the song comes to a complete halt.

Afterward Ryan changes to an acoustic guitar again. The intro with the guitar harmonies sounding very Allman Brothers/George Harrison-like. The opening seconds of the song sound very 60s/70s with the faint steel guitar in the background. Once Ryan starts singing, the song begins to take form of "Architect of Dreams". The song keeps this slow, down-tempo until the middle of the song where things erupt in a way that may just catch the listener off guard. The drum pattern rises and becomes loud and powerful, when out of nowhere, the song has a booming breakdown.

Day by day
Step by step
We'll fix the cracks in the pavement someday, if you'd like to help me
And our garden in the yard will be a place to call home
'Cause we'll build it together with our respective hearts
And I know right now I don't seem like much
But a start is a start
To get you swaying with me to the sound of love prospering

The sound becomes loud and anthematic, taking a page out of the rulebook of the likes of U2. The percussion/vocals/harmonies/guitar sounds all sound as if the biggest rock band in the world created it. While slowly coming down, the sound manually choosing the fade out as the lights raise completely. Ryan smiles wide as he stands before the crowd in attendance, nodding his head as he says 'thank you' various times into the microphone as he motions his bandmates over, gathering them all centerstage as they each wrap an arm around the one closes to them, creating a line as they all take three bows together, all smiling out happily. The band starts to make their way off the stage as Ryan throws the last few guitar picks that were on his mic stand, out to the crowd to catch before waving a final time and rushing off the stage to finalize his set, evening, and the first Vegas Rocks Festival.
