 Nina Tarantino , known as Rum in PBR&B duo Rum & Coke , is a Cuban-American Rapper , Producer , Singer and Songwriter . She was born September 21st, 1992 to Cuban father , Alvaro Taramino and Cuban-Bajan mother , Zora Taramino in Bayamo, Granma . As a young child in Cuba , she grew up listening to Gloria Estafan and Selena and her grandmother even taught her how to play the piano . At the time Latino Rap was really jumping up in Cuba , which really captivated Nina's heart . Her father , Alvaro Taramino , was involved in a life of crime and drugs to support his family . Once he decided that he would discontinue his dangerous ways he Cuba wasn't a safe place for his family anymore , so in 2OO5 , at the age of 13 , Nina's family moved to Toronto, Ontario . They enrolled her into R.H.King Academy , where she met Airemese Smith . She also attended Etobicoke School of the Arts in the music department (for piano) with Airemese Smith . She moved out of her house to live with her in 2OO8 and in 2O12 , Nina & Aire posted a few video's under the name , Rum & Coke and went viral , becoming youtube sensations . Nina and Airemese moved to Hollywood and released their debut album , Venom & Versace , which managed to reach #12 on the charts .
 Airemese Smith , known as Coke in PBR&B duo Rum & Coke , is a Canadian-American Singer , Songwriter and Director . Smith is of Zimbabwean , Norwegian , Irish and Danish descent . She was born February 26th , 1992 to Zimbabwean-Canadian father , Dakarai Smith and Norwegian-Canadian mother , Anniken Dahl-Smith . Ever since a very young age , Airemese loved music and aspired to be a singer . Her parents saw the ambition in her and wanted to support as much as they could . At the age of 5 , her parents put her into dance classes and the age of 9 , vocal lessons . " Mother's Day , Father's Day , Birthday's ... They were the one time I had an excuse to put on a whole performance for my parents . It took them some time to catch on *giggles* , but , they eventually saw where I was heading with it and did everything they could for me to pursue my dream . " Airemese attended middle school at R.H.King Academy , where she met Nina Tarantino , for high school she attended Etobicoke School of the Arts in the dance department ( for ballet ) . At the age of 16 she moved out of her house and flew to America with Nina . In 2O12 , Nina & Aire posted a few video's under the name , Rum & Coke and went viral , becoming youtube sensations .
