Reckless(분별없는) is a song by South Korean girl duo/group Mi•Mi , released on April 8th, 2014 , as a promotional single for and from their debut studio album , In Our Youth . The song was produced by NinaT , ScottRH , Buzz & Hype and Flame 1&2 and written by group members Mi Kyung Lee , Dae Na Guem and Mi Sun Kim . A predominately electronic-inspired song , the song contains elements of both hip-hop and rap , with the group exchanging between singing and rapping in English and Korean . The song is a "fun" song for the girls , compared to the usual style that Mi•Mi usually has shown . It contains many musical styles and tempo changes along with carefree lyrics .
While many of the songs on Mi•Mi's debut album , In Our Youth , were about chasing their dreams and finding love , original member and rapper of the group Mi Kyung Lee (known by many as Miki) , suggested that a portion of the album should portray the "recklessness" of their youth since many of the songs written borderlines such . This created tracks like Reckless , Goin' Out , Always and even Dirt Road . While Always and Dirt Road has more of a meaningful message to it , Reckless was made to show a more fun side to the girl group and the tease track of Goin' Out a more grown up side to them , a sneak of their albums to come . They were both originally made to be a bonus track on the album but after loving how each turned out with production and lyrics , Mi Sun Kim and Mi Kyung Lee decided instead to put them on the standard version , ultimately deciding to not release a bonus version at all .
The Los Angeles Times' music critic Randall Roberts called it a "scattered" anthem and a "gleefully chaotic" song , which "perfectly showed off" the rapping skills and vocal ability of the whole group . Billboard praised the song for its intense mix of different sounds and melodies praising the production as "a song that could indicate pop music's future trajectory" . Rolling Stone's staff contributor Nick Catucci described the song as a carefully plotted musical gymnastics routine and noted its "candy land" of pop sounds – from minimal R&B to high-BPM dance . Critics everywhere loved the track for it's comical lyrics , calling it "cute" and "adorable" but at the same time showing they are "nothign to play with" with Miki's rapping , the whole group's strong vocals and their phenomenal production team .
