ΔQUA MANHΔTṪAN and Some Kind of Planet 2014 Tour live at The Knitting Factory in Spokane, Washington

The Knitting Factory's doors open promptly at 6:00 and the Knitting Factory is flooded with fans of both bands. Some Kind of Planet walks up on stage and preforms their sound check quickly the band walks back on stage in astronaut costumes. Noel Houston walks back to his microphone. "Good evening, Spokane. We're glad to be back here in this lovely city. This is our third time in Spokane but we've never played a venue this big. Anyway, we're Some Kind of Planet and we're here to rock your world!"
Jerry does a drum fill and Elias follows on bass both guitarist as well as the synth come in and a mosh pit starts. Noel starts singing. Levi goes into a synth solo quickly toggling the LFO on his keyboard. As soon as he finishes, the song ends.

"Thanks, that was a new one. We debuted it here just for you. "It's called Lift Off. I know, I know, it's corny but that's what you should expect from a space punk band. This one is called Jovian Dreams."
Noel starts singing the first verse and playing the main riff on guitar and the whole band then comes in. They play the chorus followed by Noel jumping onto Jerry's kick drum and playing a heavily distorted riff. The song ends shortly after the distorted riff.

"Oh wow, I broke my string on that one." He laughs "This'll only take a minute or two, I'm going to put a new string on. While I'm doing this can I talk to you guys?" The crowd cheers in approval. "Great, great. How are you guys doing tonight, and don't say woo that's not a feeling." The crowd laughs and cheers "That's good, I told you not to say woo but whatever." He looks down at his setlist "Oh shit, we don't have very many songs left. That's what sucks about being an opening band, you get a short as fuck set. But don't worry, Aqua Manhattan is great and they'll have a long juicy set for you guys. Our next song is a fun one to play, it's called Yeah, Yeah, Oh Yeah. Those are the only words and I want every one singing along or we'll leave." He finishes stringing and tuning his guitar. "Also, I don't even play guitar for this one so stringing my guitar was useless but at least we got to know each other a little bit."
The band starts playing and then Noel starts talking "I want full participation!" They start singing and the band starts jumping around and going crazy and the venue erupts in "Yeah, Yeah, Oh Yeah! Yeah, Yeah, Oh Yeah!" Noel does a flip into the mosh pit and crowd surfs as he sings and he starts moshing with the crowd. The band starts to play the song faster and faster until the song starts to fall apart they play it so fast and then they slow it down until the song ends. Noel jumps back on stage. "We usually close with that one. It's actually one of four songs that's not about Science fiction or space. Brace yourselves this ones about Venus and its lack of moons."

Levi starts to play a synth solo and Noel starts picking his e and b strings really fast and shouts "Whooooooooooooa!" Before the band goes into a fast punk song. The mosh pit becomes rather intense as people start stage diving. All the instruments cut out except for drums. "This is my favorite part of this song. We each play a short solo and things get pretty crazy when we play it. Levi is going to start it out." Levi goes into a synth solo mostly consisting of fast 16th notes on the black keys and he toggles the waves on his keyboard with his free hand making a weird sound. It then goes to Noel, he plays a fast scale run up and down his strings using a wah wah pedal as well. It then goes to Elias who plays a funk style bass solo on his higher frets. And Aaron plays a heavily distorted guitar solo. And then it transitions to Jerry who hits a dampened crash cymbal for his solo. The song goes into another chorus and it ends.

"We got into a thing, especially Jerry. Okay, so it looks like this is our last song. It's a dancey track, and I don't play guitar for this one so I'm going to join you again. Next up is Aqua Manhattan, you guys have been fucking awesome. You have taught us how to love again. One two one two three four!" Levi does an arpeggiated synth lead and Aaron does a chord riff. Noel backs up and runs into the crowd and starts singing and moshing. The song goes into the chorus followed by a bass solo and a synth solo. The song starts to get more intense until the end when the band starts jumping around and moshing into eachother. Noel jumps back on stage and ends the song. "Thank you, Spokane, thank you Knitting Factory. You've all been such sweeties. We're out. We live in Seattle so we will be back. And next time, we'll be headlining and we'll play you guys a super long fucking set. Next up, Aqua Manhattan, they'll blow your fucking minds. Thanks!"

Some Kind of Planet walks off stage receiving a loud applause and music from a stereo starts to play as roadies begin to sound check for Aqua Manhattan

Aqua Manhattan's roadies finish sound checking and the band walks up on stage. The band is wearing middle eastern/South Asian themed attire. 50's Rape Victim holds his guitar up to his amp creating an almost deafening feedback. Space Slut 2.0 starts to hit a floor tom loudly at random intervals. Japanese Business Man begins to play a dissonant chord quickly and begins to freak out on the stage. 50's Rape Victim goes to his table full of pedals loops a feed back riff and he starts screaming into the microphone. Space Slut starts to hit both crash cymbals loudly. This goes on for another six minutes and they stop.

Space Slut starts to play a fast drum solo leading the band into their next song "Hatsu-ji" Japanese Business Man turns on a distortion pedal to his microphone making massive amounts of feedback and he starts screaming the lyrics of the song they start noodling and playing badly until just the drums are going. 50's Rape Victim goes back to his pedal table making deafening distortion. He starts screaming into his microphone again making the feedback intense. The song continues for another ten minutes before it abruptly ends.

50's Rape Victim gets out a Bansuri and starts to play badly on it and Japanese Business Man starts to mumble incoherently. Space Slut starts hitting a djembe drum with a drum stick. Japanese Business Man picks up a hand crafted guitar made to sound gritty and he starts strumming fast with it. The band jams for a long twenty minutes transitioning to punk, world, and spoken word.

The band transitions into another punk song only this time it stays an instrumental punk song. The crowd begins to mosh intensely. The band goes into another twenty minute jam, during it, 50's Rape Victim begins to use a variety of pedals to make a deafening screech. The deafening screech continues for a minute and Japanese Business Man begins swearing indiscriminately in Japanese as well as screaming.

The band ends that song and plays a long medley featuring three songs from their first cassette "A Spirit can Only Harm Other Spirits" "Death Grip" and "Hypnogogia" only the band uses a lot more distortion and feedback. A Spirit can Only Harm Other Spirits ends halfway through and goes into Death Grip. Japanese Business Man yanks the microphone out of the stand and begins jumping around the stage screaming the lyrics. The song is extended to 10 minutes and is followed by a harsh noise outro into Hypnogogia. Space Slut begins to pound his toms to the point of denting the heads and he starts to play faster and faster until he gets to the song's normal tempo, 180 BPM, it evolves into a punk song and another mosh pit starts. Japanese Business Man jumps jumps onto one of the amps screaming into it while it gives off an intense amount of feedback. The song ends as Japanese Business Man chucks his microphone across the stage. 50's Rape Victim picks up the microphone to address the audience for the first and the last time. "Fuck you, we're out." They walk off stage and the crowd dissolves as music starts playing from a stereo and the roadies start tearing everything down.
