The scene opens up with no music in a home located in Los Angeles.. Cassie is seen sitting across from her soul mate with a very unpleasant look on her face, her red hair straightened as she sits looking saddened. The cameras pan over and stop at the man, he has a tear coming down his eye as he begins to speak. When he speaks, his voice cracks because its obvious that he was feeling extremely down and crying.
"Baby ho- how can you do this to me? After all I've done for you? How could you?!"
Cassie can't do anything but look down as the guilt runs through her veins and it clearly shows as the camera cuts to her. After a few seconds she takes a big breath as she looks up to him
"I don't know.....something in my heart....it was a mistake....I ...I dont know what to say...."
He shakes his head negatively as he continues to respond to her, still sound hurt and betrayed
"And your heart couldn't stop you from making that mistake? I thought I meant more to you then that......damn...and you told me you loved me? You broke my heart...I can't be with you anymore"
His last words "I cant be with you anymore" echo as the opening synths to "Hearts" is heard as the camera's move up to a guilty Cassie as she begins to mouth the words toward the brokenhearted guy

I should have thought it through, I guess I blew it

After the opening verse and hook singing toward the guy who's tears run down his eyes, shes given all she can give and stands up and walks away as soon as the chorus rumbles up to the song. When the chorus hits, it explains the story a little bit further. Soon as we hear the chorus following Cassie walking away, we are taken to the past to explain what happened.
Cassie is seen walking into her home when a man from her past is seen. She locks eyes with him and its obvious they have a strong past together. He looks at her, opening his arms and she walks up to him. He knows he had her in the palm of his hand at one point. He asks her something that can't be made out as they have conversation.

Love can burn us outYou finally can finally make out something that is said and he mouths "I want you to be mine again. Cassie's heart is getting best of her at this point.

Love can light us upCassie grabs his hand and proceeds to bring him upstairs as the chorus rides out, the door closes behind her, only leaving to the imagination of what the two did behind closed doors.

We are now taken back to present day and the cameras clip to Cassie's house again as the second verse comes upon us. Her soul mate is seen in the car days later, Cassie runs down out her house and to the car as if she is singing the second verse to him, but he doesn't want to hear it, he speeds off in the car leaving her. Cassie is very saddened as she walked back into her house
I'm sorry for what I said, I messed up I'm only human
I couldn't see ahead, no idea what I was thinking
I should've listened to my mind instead of the silly wishing
Maybe it's not too late, maybe I can make it right

Later that night, as the hook comes on, Cassie is seen sitting down and drinking due to stress as she sings the hook

She stands by the windown full of guilt and unable to get her true love of her mind since she let him down. She sings the chorus, showing her emotion through her facial expression as clips also show her loved one out and about with friends trying to forget her and having a good time

The cameras then cut for the bridge where Cassie sings with a background during the video. Her hair is glistening and she looks beautifully broken as she sings the high notes in the video

The final part of the video shows her true loved one showing back up. He still looks hurt, but Cassie approaches him, she says she loves him and that shes sorry as the chorus continues, she kisses him as the song rides out.
