"The Past, the Present and the Future of Pop Vol. 2" is the 8th studio album by american pop singer Stephanie Fierce set to be released through the support of North Hill Records. The album serves as a sequel or modern spin to the the debut album of the very same name "The Past, Present and Future of Pop". For this title, Fierce had reunited with all 12 producers from the first album as co-writer and co-producer and production consisted of 40 days. Ironically, this is the same time Jesus Christ spent with his disciples after resurrection. The album is set to be released October 10, 2014 in Africa & Australia and October 12 Internationally.

The LP comes shortly after the release of "Love is Lust"; which is the previous full length studio album that was released on July 8, 2012. The album, which failed to meet commercial success in comparison to previous albums, but was proceeded with an more successful EP titled "Man Music" which went on to sell over 3 million copies. Despite the success of the singles, Fierce unveiled in a personal interview that the release of "Love is Lust" was mishandled, leading to a "frustrating" experience throughout. The album's title "Immortal" had been revealed through a personal open letter Fierce had blogged as part of a New Years gift to her fans on December 31st 2012. The concept of the album was unveiled even further upon the release of an interview with GQ magazine were Stephanie discussed the inspiration of the album title and what fans may expect musically back in January of this year. Fierce went on to say that for the first time her very own haters inspired the title of one her albums through a song she had written. During the interview, the song was revealed to be "Insane", which the leading single off the new album. The album's concept simply demonstrates strength, love and power and overcoming your biggest obstacles in life therefore feeling "Immortal". However that concept was later on scrapped, and song "Insane" was left a stand alone release single. "Bless Me" was then released as the official lead single and the song went number one both the Airplay and Digital songs chart. The song is the only song on the album, aside from "Insane" to get an exclusive single release. Despite the success of both singles the album was scrapped. Later on the album title's was changed to Amplified and the idea of a visual album was then presented. The album was also scrapped for undisclosed reasons.

"I gather all of the people that I worked with first album. Some of them I had seen at celebrity events or award shows, but most of them I hadn't seen in years, so it was very akward but exciting at the same time" - Stephanie Fierce (Writer and producer of all tracks)

"Pop Culture is a really Trippy fun funk song, something completely different from what we recorded with Pop World, though similar in title" - John Hill (Producer of "B.I.C./Rap Chanteuse")

"Me and Stephanie Fierce worked on the first album for Shine and it was a very memorable recording session for me. I remember how much she wanted Shine to be a single but her label didn't let her. Hopefully Suga Papi, has enough suga for them" - Sean Garret (Producer of "Suga Papi")

"I never thought I would pen a song with Fierce, because I'm usually behind the lenses and the imagery of it all, but it was something that ended up working on it's own, I hope people enjoy it" - Chris Cunningham (Co-Writer of "Fine")

"Knowing that sort of in a way, her record label was pimping her out. I kind of wanted Fierce to take a different direction with her music and that's when we recorded "Where I Belong". I allowed her to take full control of the record and actually write the lyrics to the song. The song went #1 in the US Hot 100 Billboard charts, but it was a ballad, so that made it even more special." - Ryan Tedder (Co-writer and Producer of 'Heroine')

"We have seen her grow over the years and it's been an amazing journey for her. I think that for her to revisit her old days were it all started for her shows how humble she is, despite it almost being a decade." - Rockwell - (Producer of "Flashback")

"I originally produced the beat of 90's Girl for the intention of including it on my new album, but when I showed the demo to Steph, she said she would never talk to me, if I didn't let her have it. I think that I made the best decision by giving it to her, she did so much justice to it" - Daniel (Producer and co-writer of "90's Girl")

"The song we recorded for this album is insane, It sounds so different from anything she's recorded" - Diplo (Producer of "Pop Culture" and "Set Me Loose")

"When we first worked with Fierce it was an incredibly short recording session, she came in, we greeted, recorded and bounced. Back then her name was actually credited as Stephanie Rios, and Fierce was just her stage name, right until the album was re-issued worldwide. So that's how long ago it was. Knowing that she had no choice but to record these songs, we still knew this girl was talented and was going to do something special. Her voice was incredible and she was only 19 years old." - Tricky Stewart & Terius Youngdell Nash (Writers of and Producers of "Fine", "Letting Go" & "Hot Shot Part. 2")

"It was great re-connecting with all of these people. The album became a great collaborative effort, and it turned out amazing. Heroine is one of those records that will be talked about from time time. I love it when my wife, goes simple and soulful, that's when her voice really shines" - Johnny Johnson (Producer of "Heroine")

TRACK 1: BLESS ME

UserPostedImage

Name: "Bless Me"
Album: "The Past, the Present and the Future of Pop Vol. 2"
Recorded: March 2013
Writer/Composer: Stephanie Fierce
Producer: Stephanie Fierce
Length: 4:19
Genres: Folk-rock
Release: May 12, 2013 (Digital Download & Airplay)
Record Label: North Hill records, CBS

"Bless Me" is a track recorded by American artist Stephanie Fierce for her eight studio album "The Past, The Present and The Future of Pop Vol. 2" through the support of North Hill Records. The song was solely written and produced by Stephanie Fierce. The song is considered the second lead single of the album, behind the release of "Insane" which was released months previously. At first it was unknown if whether the song will be included on the album due to a recent change of track-list, but the song was released as a "digital download only single" through North Hill Records and the support of CBS records on May 12th. After the song hit number one, the song was released for Airplay were it also reached #1 making the song a huge success. The song was recorded and composed in March inside of Stephanie Fierce's tour bus trailer and mixed at a private owned studio. As of May 11th, the song is currently being used for television promo for the 10th season finale of CBS's hit drama NCIS that will started to air on May 14th of 2013. Part of the song's instrumental was used in the earlier promo's that began on May 1st without the title track or artist being unveiled. Fierce will be performing the song for the very first time on BCStyle Charity Fashion Show on May 11th. A music video has already been filmed and will be released in the coming days. The song was also covered by various indie singers.

Fierce discussed the song in her recent Rolling Stone interview:

"I originally wrote the song around the time I released "Love is Lust" but never touched it until March of this year. As of right now, the song may or may not be included on the album, but I feel like the song is very special to me and should be somewhat commercial in my discography of singles, so I wanted to release it in sort of way at least."

She added:

"I think within the concept this song is a bit more interesting lyrically. Vocally with this song I was very influenced by Amy Lee from Evanescence. I will admit I'm not a huge fan of Evanescence's sound as whole, but I am a fan of their lyrics and Amy Lee's voice. As a woman I feel like she really has a distinctive sexy voice. She sounds almost like a saint but with edge and I wanted that in my voice for this song and I wanted to also represent that on this record because this particular song does not have a good meaning at all. It's very sexual and somewhat whorish, but it is something that does happen with many women. A one night stand is meant to be a one night stand, but sometimes we can't get caught up and feel trapped by wanting more. I think this point and time in my career, people should understand that everything I say or portray shouldn't always be taken literal, and that's why I"m not afraid to release the song. "

This song has a very stripped and mellow sound, very much like "Dying in the Airwaves" and many other songs Fierce recorded for her "Free" album, which was released back in 2011. This one however has a little bit more edge in the lyrics and in the bridge. The song talks about the lust and desire of a lonely woman and how a one night stand made her want to keep coming back for more. She desribes herself as a rebel and makes it very clear that she isn't s saint and is willing to push boundaries within herself and her sins. The song is written in a religious fashion which may cause Blasphemy controversy. Fierce moaningly sings "Bless me, Bless me"; a sexual innuendo referring to the fact that her body is need of a "blessing". The song begins with a guitar riff, making two rounds before it dives in with it's opening verse. The song is then joined by what sounds like two smashing sticks and Fierce's soft and sultry vocals. As she sings "bless me" her voice turns more into a moan rather than a belt. When she sings 'I don't stand a chance in heaven', the song goes silent for few quick seconds, and is rapidly joined by a louder smashing claps that also make a few rounds. Growing more melodic as it's joined by more instrumentation, the song continues with it's instrumentation which is kept simple and progressive all throughout until the bridge hits. During the bridge, the song takes a more upbeat beat turn as she sings "keep the demons out" ect. During this section, the song's instrumentation grows even more intense as fierce's vocals become more sultry and evolve into a more moan-like sound as she echoes and repeats through the chorus-repeat. The song then grows more silent and less active until is rejoices to it's normal form and fades out with an emotionally driven sound.

"Bless Me" Lyrics

"Love drunk again, overdose accident
no I'm not saint, no I'm not a saint
I think I should be a little more embarrassed,
in myself, in my sins
Bless Me, Bless Me
Oh oh, oh oh
Bless Me Bless Me
Oh oh, oh oh
Cause I don't stand a chance in heaven
even the devil don't recognize me anymore
a desperate girl should be given another night
but I thought you might
Bless Me, Bless Me
Oh oh, oh oh
Bless Me Bless Me
Oh oh, oh oh

Oh

The night is growing close
your hands round' my throat
I can't say a word,
and I bet he knows
and I'm hardly wake
Since the night he left.
His body always kept,
Mine inside of it.
keep the demons out,
Give me mouth to mouth.
I can't live without ya,
Take me to your house.

Bless me, Bless me, oh.
Bless me, Bless me, oh. (Bless, bless, bless, bless...)
Bless me, Bless me, oh. (Me, me, me, me...)
Bless me, Bless me, oh. (Bless, Bless, Bless...)

But I thought you might...

Bless Me, Bless Me
Oh oh, oh oh
Bless Me Bless Me
Oh oh, oh oh
