And we attempt to carry on with a forward looking mentality and when we tuck our children into bed at night we encourage them to not be afraid of the world outside of their windows and instead we try to instill a courage and fight within them that tells them that it’s okay to dream big and that good things can happen if you give it your all and even if things don’t work out the way that you had planned then so long as you give it your everything then you should be proud. Yeah, we try to instill that into our children’s mindsets because we know that it’s too late for us to believe that everything will be rosy. No. We’ve been knocked down one time too many and we’ve seen the bad in the world and we no longer live with hope and dreams and blind-faith but instead we live with reality and acceptance. And yet somehow, every single time we tuck our boys and girls into bed we read them stories of princes and princesses and all conquering love, but we’re just lying to em’ and it’s for a good reason, because they're too young to see the world for all that it is, for all of the pain and sadness and destruction and they deserve to be innocent for as long as possible. See I’ve done some bad things, man. But in reality we all have the capabilities within us to explode, it only takes one small trigger to set us off and we can become a destructive force. It’s uncontrollable, it’s furious and it’s frightening. As children we’re forced to follow the herd, we’re taught to be just like everybody else and god forbid you’re slightly different from the norm. No. God forbid you’re an introvert, if you are then they’ll put you in classes to “fix” yourself. But you can express your thoughts and opinions though, just so long as it’s from the same viewpoint of the wise old people that are expected to guide us through life. When you’re young they talk the talk, they tell you to find your dreams and follow em’, but when you do they try to bring you down. Because it’d hurt them to see you succeed while their shattered dreams lie in tatters on their bedroom floor. Hope fades from the young as they age, it’s how it goes. So when you’re shackled to their chains. Sometimes, you just need to unleash your frustrations and it can cause destruction and devastation. But they brought it upon themselves. They brought it upon themselves when they tried to hold us back. When they tried to kill our dreams and ambition. They held us back by the shoulders while we tried to break free of these confines and as we wriggled free they surrounded us and tried to block our path. But we stood tall, we stood for what we believed in and in the end we won. Because ambition always wins and we may have left a trail of pain, heartbreak and destruction in our wake because of it. But it’s what was needed, it was what was needed to get us to where we want to be and we must have a point-blank focus in order to get to where we want to be and so if we hurt in the process then so be it.
