Dominic Brown Live @ Fan Choice Awards IVSeptember 21, 2014Dominic waited backstage for the show to start and for him to be announced on stage for his performance. He was a little nervous tonight as he was set to open the show, which was something he'd never done before. Before tonight, he usually always was set to perform later on towards the end at awards shows but he had earned the opening spot this time. It was a huge surprise to him when his manager told him that he had been asked to open up the show. He accepted right away and was really honored for the opportunity he would be getting. He had to admit, before he made his big return earlier this year into the music industry, he was a little hesitant at how people would respond to him. Mostly because he had spent too much time away and not to mention that it had been three years since he released his debut album. So he wasn't expecting to receive as much love as he once had gotten when he first started. Luckily enough, the response was still the same and perhaps maybe even better as he scored three number ones and went platinum with each of his new singles. He was so grateful for all the love he was receiving and glad that all his hard work he had been putting in this year was paying off. He also couldn't wait to release his new music for his fans. He wanted to do something special to thank them and releasing an extended play before his album, was just one of those ways. He loved his fans, which was why his performance tonight had to be something that they would love. He had been in practice all week, working on his performance, making sure everything was on point. At his last rehearsal yesterday, everything went great and he hoped that the same thing happened tonight, that is if his nerves didn't get in the way. Opening up the show was a lot of pressure because it sets the tone for the rest of the night and it's the first performance people see. So you have to kill it in the first few minutes to hook people in. He sighs and calms himself down, realizing he was thinking too much. He hears music playing then the hosts talking. It was showtime which meant that it was now or never. He sighed one last time before getting into place. Once he's introduced, the lights dim down in the building and the beat for Don't Wait Up because to play. A few moments later, a spotlight about where Dominic is standing, shines on him to reveal him standing on a round platform in front of some bars. He steps off the platform and begins to sing the hook of the song into the microphone by his mouth. Don't wait up Don't wait, don't wait up Don't wait up Don't wait, don't wait up Don't wait up Don't wait, don't wait up Don't wait up She be tryna play me Well I'm done with the games Baby girl got another in your place Cus that's how we do (So don't wait up)He finishes up the hook and walks down the stage some more, standing under the purple and blue arches that are over the stage. Blue lights light up the stage as Dominic sings the first verse of the song. He's centered in the middle of his dancers while the girls in front of him and the guys located behind him. The girl dancers are wearing all back outfits with masks around their mouths and the guy dancers are wearing white suits just like Dominic. The crowd goes crazy as he continues singing and dancing to the song. He finishes out the verse then goes on to sing the hook again. The camera goes around the building capturing members in the audience singing and dancing along with the song, having a good time. Dominic continues to sing, putting his all into it, as his nerves have finally calm down, making him able to enjoy himself. He sings the last line of his verse and then goes into the hook again. He continues dancing with the other as Kato comes out to sing his verse. Dominic joins in from time to time to help with the Don't Wait Ups throughout the song and a little bit of ad libbing of his own. He was happy to have his best friend there to perform with him because he always brought so much energy with him and together they were incredible. You were always up to something and I could feel it from the start (Don't wait up) You knew I would fall and give you all of my heart (Don't wait up) I should have realized the games you try to play Yeah you hurt me bad, but I'm on to you Don't wait up When you stayed out partin' with your girls I didn't even trip on you (Don't wait up) You started slippin and your lies caught up to you (Don't wait up) Girl I held you down Could at least tell me the truth You wasted my time now I'm glad we're through
Don't wait up Don't wait, don't wait up Don't wait up Don't wait, don't wait up Don't wait up Don't wait, don't wait up Don't wait up She be tryna play me Well I'm done with the games Baby girl got another in your place Cus that's how we do (So don't wait up) Don't wait up Don't wait, don't wait up Don't wait, don't wait up Don't wait up Don't wait, don't wait up Don't wait, don't wait up Don't wait up Don't pretend like you want me But then act like we ain't nothing But Imma keep my cool and do me While you at home doing youOnce Dominic is finished with his part of their song, Kato joins the stage, totally hyped up and ready to perform. He is wearing an all white outfit complete with golden motorcycle gloves and some shades which he manages to keep on the entire performance. His shoes were custom made having gold trim on the all white exterior. When the two of them performed together, they always sort of did a little competition to see who could do more and amp up the crowd but it was all in good fun. Immediately when he walks onto the stage, the crowd is suddenly all female as the screams are enough to make any sane person there, agonized, but Kato loved it. He grinned a little before he started singing his verse. He walks over to the crowd, dancing a little and grabbing his crotch, a sort of MJ tribute that he always did in his performances.Got her in the mood now Take a selfie before we leave (Don't wait up) She ride up front The realest in the car plus me (Don't wait up) Cus we about to do things, put this track on repeat Don't you try to even compete (Don't wait up) Don't call my phone Ain't nothing at home imma miss (Don't wait up) When I be all around you Can't even give me a kiss (Don't wait up) What you think I was asleep? What you think I was asleep? When you pushed me to the side Cuffed a new wifey Once they go back into the chorus, he sings along, vibing off the energy of the crowd, who are very surprised and excited to see the two men together. He walks to the other side of the stage, telling the crowd to sing with him, as he rocks his head back and forth, enjoying every bit of the performance. He then jumps into the rap, which is another solo spot for him, Dominic dancing to the side of with the other dancers. He holds out his hand, grabbing one of the many fan's hands in the front row, as if he were rapping to them.Got a new chick now She make me wanna think about settling down Buy her anything But she be shopping for me too Throw the purple lingerie on and got her in my room So don't wait up Talk about the baddest, referring to her She don't fuss and she don't fight And she can't wait to tell the world 'bout us She don't mind tryna spoil me We be treating each other like royalty Weekends we in the V.I.Ps Taking pictures of us like she paparazzi Sometimes she like get nasty But she know how to behave in public cus she's classy Matching cars and custom made seats Now me and you don't even speakThe music stops and so does he, staring out into the crowd while the cheers gradually get louder. The lights are dimmed and the spotlight was on him and looking out you could see the various phones lighting up to take pictures and record this moment. It was similar to something of the Bray Wyatt phenomenon on WWE. He bends over, touching the fans hands before the music changes to funky bass kicks in and the crowd gets immensely louder, knowing what he was about to sing. It was his debut performance of his new single, the only live promotion he had done for the song and now he was taking the chance to perform it live for his fans. "Let me hear you!"I like when you put on that tiny dress And let your hair down, you do it best You don't need all of that make up Been perfect since you first woke up
It's unfair to be bragging, can't get you out of my head I've been through so many loves, always been put to the test So please excuse my behavior, if I'm acting selfish There's not a thing you haven't heard But I don't have to say a word
You're way too damn beautiful For me not to appreciate But sometimes, I don't have to say a word You're way too damn beautiful For me not to appreciate But sometimes, I don't have to say a wordAs he sings, he runs up and down the long strip of stage, joining his dancers again as they perform the smooth and debonaire choreography to the track. It's a mixture of R&B and Pop dance moves as he glides effortlessly across the stage. Dancing was one of Kato's strongest abilities and when he danced, it was something he did with passion and love. He sings the second verse, while walking back down the stage. When he goes into the second verse, his voice is much more clearer now, the dancers on the main stage as he branches away from them. He had a sort of swagger to his walk and the way he sang, which made him seem like it didn't take much effort at all. He starts doing some solo choreography on his own which include a few turns and twists, as well as small, intricate movements which looked simple but weren't.Some guys they just don't like to feel threatened But baby I can tell that I've been blessed Haven't reached our full potential, eh Keeping you a secret would be detrimental
It's unfair to be bragging, can't get you out of my head I've been through so many loves, always been put to the test So please excuse my behavior, if I'm acting selfish There's not a thing you haven't heard But I don't have to say a word
You're way too damn beautiful For me not to appreciate But sometimes, I don't have to say a word You're way too damn beautiful For me not to appreciate But sometimes, I don't have to say a word Just the thought of you is enough And to have you to myself is just too much But I'll manage to give you all my love Even when I know what you're capable of
It's unfair to be bragging, can't get you out of my head I've been through so many loves, always been put to the test So please excuse my behavior, if I'm acting selfish There's not a thing you haven't heard But I don't have to say a word"Ay yo New York, let me hear you sing!" He smiles as he continues to sing, the crowd almost overpowering him with their loud voices in sync. At the same time, he made his vocalizations to the point that he could stand out from the crowd as well as he continued dancing as the song was coming to an end. When he sings the final line, he stops, breathing a little heavily into his microphone and then smiling out in the crowd. You're way too damn beautiful For me not to appreciate (ohh baby) But sometimes, I don't have to say a word You're way too damn beautiful (I don't have to) For me not to appreciate (You don't have to) But sometimes, I don't have to say a word
Oh, (Sometimes) I don't have to say a word Oh, (Sometimes) I don't have to say a wordOnce Kato finishes singing his song and leaves the stage, the lights dim down again. The beat to his latest single, Work It Out, begins to play. A few seconds later, as the song nears the first verse, blue lights light up the stage again to reveal Dominic suspended in the air in his white suit from before. He looks to be coming down from the sky, hanging over the center of the stage. His feet are together and his arms are places straight out. Dominic looks around at his fans, as he has a better view of the building now from being suspended up high in the air. He glances at some of their faces and notices them looking on in amazement as they weren't expecting him to do something quite like this. He smiled just a little, happy that they were liking the performance so far. They continue to look on in amazement and cheer for him as he begins to sing the first verse into the microphone near his mouth. He finishes out the first verse and soon after starts singing the hook. The fans sing along with him and scream at the top of their lungs. He finishes out the hook and the song goes into the beat break. A few of his male dancers, now in new clothes, come out on stage and dance below him as he dances to the choreography while still up in the air above the stage. You left me drowning in the dark abyss I call for you to come and ease the pain Don't understand why would you say those things You knew that I came attached with so many strings You keep pulling me towards the ledge Thinking that, it was all in vain Before you take all your love far away I want to work it out...
Work it out, work it out, work it out I want to work it out Work it out, work it out I want to work it outThe beat break ends and the song continues on as Dominic begins to sing once more into his microphone. He stays suspended in the air with his feet together and legs out to his side like from earlier when he first came out. A new set of male dancers come out and take the place on stage below him dancing to the choreography they had practices well before tonight's show. Three of them were wearing black and white plaid shirts, which was unbuttoned at the bottom showing off their white shirts that they were wearing underneath. They also wore black pants and masks like the ones the girls were wearing earlier on their faces. The other two dancers were dressed in black suits, a black hat, and wore the same mask around their face as the others. Dominic finishes out the last line before the song goes back into the beat break. As it does, he begins to flip around up in the air a few times. He then dives down, his head pointed towards the stage and his feet are apart pointed up a little in the air. His arms are held out to his side behind him a little. The fans scream for him.Oh no drama, I know what you desire Stop actin' so crazy, open up and cease fire Girl just forget about that one time Just listen to me before you ignite You keep pulling me towards the ledge Thinking that, it was all in vain Before you take all your love far away I want to work it outThe beat break ends yet again and Dominic straightens back up, taking his pose from before again. At this point, he normally would be tired, but he was full of so much energy tonight, so all the flipping and dancing didn't bother him much. He was just glad to be performing for his fans and at least performing one his favorite songs from his extended play. He starts to sing again into his microphone as the song goes on and goes into the next line. Once he is finished, the song goes into the beat break. His male dancers leave the stage from both sides, three leaving on the left of Dominic and two leaving on the right side of him, as Dominic begins to flip up in the air again. Two more male dancers, in white suits a bit like his, come off on both sides of him, flipping along with him. In the back behind Dominic and the fans, towards where he had first appeared when he came out, pyrotechnics explode off as they continue dancing and flipping. The fans go crazy and scream louder at this sudden unexpected surprise on stage. All eyes are on Dominic and his dancers as they continue on.I love your body and girl you're all that I think of You're the only one that I'm simply into I want you so badly stuck on replay , just staying drunk Hoping that you feel it too
You keep pulling me towards the ledge Thinking that, it was all in vain Before you take all your love far away I want to work it outThe beat break finishes out again and Dominic stops flipping, suspended straight up again with his arms out to the side and feet close together. The other two male dancers, that were dancing off to his side, get carried off on their wire and disappear backstage and the same girl dancers, from the beginning of his performance, come back out to dance to some choreography. Dominic starts singing the hook as he is finally lowered down to come back down onto the stage. His feet touches the floor and he lands towards the front center between the dancers. Two of them continue dancing in front of him while the other two bend down a little to the side of him and begin taking off the wire that is hooked to his pants. The fans that are close to the stage, try to reach out and touch him, from behind. He can feel some of them touching on his leg, but tries to remain focus with his performance. He holds his hands out in front of him as he finishes up the hook, singing it with much passion in his voice, while they continue working on taking the wire off of him.Work it out, work it out, work it out I want to work it out Work it out, work it out I want to, I want to work it out Work it out, work it out, work it out Work it out, work it out, work it out I want to work it outHe finishes the hook and goes to the edge of the stage with his dancers for the beat break, as he is unhooked now. Two of the girl dancers leave and are replaced by two male dances, wearing all white outfits with suspenders and a mask around their mouths. The fans go crazy and now that he is so close in front of them. Some of them reach out to grab him while others are dancing along with him, recording videos on their phones of his performance. The beat break is now over and so he begins singing into his microphone the last part of the song. He's so pumped up from the performance and doesn't want it to be over but he finishes it out anyway. The song then goes into the last break break in the song and Dominic and dancers continue dancing in unison along with the beat. The fans have their hands up in there air moving them to the beat of the music. He and his dancers finish up the last move to their choreography before the music ends. They stand their posing as the audience stand to their feet, to applaud and cheer loudly for him. He remains there until the lights dim down low and the show moves on before walking off the stage with his dancers, heading backstage. He was so proud of himself tonight for putting on such a wonderful performance. You keep pulling me towards the ledge Thinking that, it was all in vain Before you take all your love far away I want to work it outSetlist:Dominic Brown feat.
