Former Army veterans Raymond Lyzakyan and Lucas Kyargo contacted Baulschoff, asking him to take the role of lead guitarist after the unexpected disband of Leopard Five and Sinigaro. Deadeye quickly accepted and began songwriting with the band. "We got nothing good yet." Lyzakyan said, "But the addition of Deadeye could be a big boost." The Darker Side of Me is an energetic fast paced song with a lot of anger pumped into it. Even though the song is the main song of the album, it wasn't decided to be in the album until two weeks ago.
