“From The Skylines To The Ground” is the title of the debut single from American Post-Hardcore Rapper ‘BRhero’ (pronounced Be Our Hero), in a quick-fire and unexpected turn around, ‘Songs to Love and Die By’ launched the official website for their latest signing ‘BRhero’ a longtime friend of label owner ‘Amy Meyer’ and within an hour of the website launch they have now launched the debut single from the musician. The move will either be seen as a stroke of genius from the label or a complete disaster, with lack of a build-up potentially affecting the beginning of the unknown musicians career or the sense of intrigue surrounding their latest signing being enough to convince them to give the song a listen. Whatever the outcome, it certainly came as an unexpected surprise. The song was recorded at Half-Moon Studios in late September and has a dark lyrical tone that and instrumental backdrop that comes from BRhero’s Alternative Rock and Post-Hardcore influences, but it’s also blended with a free flowing lyrical structure that that make it clear from the outset that this newbie is gonna attempt to find a balance between those hugely different genres in a way that hasn’t really been done to any great note in the music industry in recent times, if not ever. The songs musical structure is dominated by a powerful leading guitar riff, it’s worth noting that BRhero is the sole musician on the track and the guitar and bass sounds come directly from the musician, clearly recorded in stages and edited together for the final product, how this plays out during live shows will remain to be seen. But with such a guitar heavy emphasis on the musical backdrop it makes you question how far this newbie will be able to go with his music. The lyrics though are the true focus lies, here is a debut song that is very bold from the outset, the theme of the song is of a dark nature and it’s not one that is automatically an obvious choice for mainstream success, that should not matter because the quality of the lyrics are of a very good standard, certainly as debut singles go. If nothing this song is at least intriguing. The five-plus minutes track is available now as CD Single, Digital Download and 7” Single and is available to Airplay.
Who Is BRhero?A twenty-two year old Las Vegas native, he grew up in the same town as members of rock band ‘Riot! In The Boulevard’ and has played local shows around Nevada continuously since the age of seventeen. Unlike his Las Vegas natives however, breaking out of his hometown has been more of a struggle, personal issues and demons have made his attempts stutter over the years and it wasn’t until a chance meeting with his former buddy ‘Amy Meyer’ in early September that helped get him out of a situation that was becoming unbearable. According to BRhero, real name ‘Billie Russo’, “After so many years of just nothingness, shows that increasingly meant less and less to me it was quite literally a case of, I’m either gonna have one final attempt at this or I’m not getting out alive. I had reached that point where I thought, If I continue doing this unfullfilling routine of play sh*tty venues to people who don’t care enough to even listen then I’m done with the entire thing, there’s no point in living a life of disappointment. So it was either give it everything with one final try, or just f*cking pull the trigger and end things now.”Watching Riot! Skyrocket to the top was never a sour point, “We were never in the same circle when it came to music, they just sort of blitzed the whole local thing and went off to California to record their debut. So it was never a case of, they got huge here first, they got huge because they got out of here and that was a great thing, that was something for the rest of us to look at and aim for. But there’s f*cking hundreds of musicians and bands around Vegas that were just as good at that time, they just had more of a drive. I couldn’t have dealt with that level of popularlity though, not then or now, some of us are good with the spotlight, some of us like to watch from the corners.” and it’s an anxiety thing that may have stunted his progression, “It’s pretty f*cked up, I know. A musician with a fear of playing in front of people. I mean I manage to do it, I’ve done it for years now, but it’s still that same level of fear when I’m waiting to go on. I’m still trying to figure it out, but it makes things interesting ya know. There’s always a very real chance that I could vomit onstage or just complete pass the f*ck out. Fear keeps us alive though, always worth remembering.”

A couple years pass and that girls fighting on, she’s eighteen years old and she’s become strong
And she’s living out her dreams in a rock and roll band, living out her dreams that her mom will never see
And when she stands out onstage with the spotlight shining down
She knows mommas up their watching her princess giving hope to the crowd
But when those stagelights go out and her baby girl is ushered down the hallways of another faceless arena
She’s aching and she’s tired, struggling to find the dreamer
And she stares into the mirror on her dressing room wall, lights up and takes a drag, gets ready for the fall
She makes a mark on her arm, it’s where she’s planning her next incision
She takes a penknife and jabs it with perfect precision
And she passes out on the floor
To her fans it’s just another night, another show
Doesn’t matter how she’ll feel
None of this was ever real
And that cold hearted demon has took another dream away

They make a deal out of the story, make her seem like a hero, cover her in all kinds of glory
Her management says it’s okay if she falls down, they’ll find a way to spin that motherf*cking story back around
And before you know it she’s on the cover of Rolling Stone
When what she really needs is to recover at home
But they won’t let her, because they have plans, a new album and a sh*t load of money to take from her fans
And she thought she’d be the architect but she’s just the puppet
And she can’t get out of the cycle
She just thinks f*ck it
I wanna go home now, I wanna see my mom, I never wanted to be away from her for so long
And when she gets some time alone, she stands upon a chair
She’s had enough of the aches and pains, had enough of this despair
And she ties a rope to the ceiling fan and the other end around her teenage neck
She kicks the chair from underneath her
All of this caused from their neglect
And she sings some words before her final moments
The last thing she ever does is smile
She’s another tragic story
She went out in heartwrenching style
But still they’ll find a way to spin and make money from her death when she’s found
