“Crimson Blood” is an E.P by American post-hardcore band “Penetralia”. It marks their first ever E.P release which follows on the heels of their surprisingly successful debut album ‘With Brave Wings’ and is thought to be the ideal way to round out what has been a very productive year from the still relatively inexperience four-piece rock band. The idea to release an E.P was in order to tie fans over while the band continue to work on their sophomore album, it was also created to coincide with Halloween and was given an October 31 release date, however lead singer ‘Koda Espinosa’ pointed out that the songs aren’t specifically Halloween themed although they do have the bands traditional darker lyrical themes that apper throughout the five song E.P.

The songs were created while touring with ‘Reported Failure’ and ‘Vile Hour’ and were recorded during breaks in the world tour, the songs were recorded at a studio called Clear Lake Recording Studios in Hollywood, California. It was chosen primarily for it’s empty and abandoned location, while guitarist Gunner Lee described as “ideal because we could play the loudest sh*t you’ll ever hear at three am.”. The recording sessions were a very intimate band oriented thing, with only the four members of the band being involved in everything from writing to the production of the E.P. The E.P featured four original songs and one cover, the cover song is The Eagles hit single ‘Hotel California’ and is the first time the band have ever recorded a cover song.
The E.P will be released on October 31, 2014.
