title: 4th annual halloween ep
band: atomic war bride
label: studio60
format: 12 " vinyl only.
limited to: 666,666 copies...so not really that limited.

track listing:
1.It takes all kinds of critters to make farmer vincents fritters.
2. come into my secret garden
3.the tragic ballad of ivan and the terribles
4. oink,oink, mother fucker!

the latest in the annual halloween ep's unwritten and unpublished titled is "songs by and for motel hell. in the key of d minor, with an eddie van halen bolt action. " yeah,i cant imagine why they left THAT title off the cover. previous eps have featured movies such as :"2000 maniacs", "cannibal holocaust" and last year's "house of a thousand corpses". this year, the war bride is taking it back vintage to 1980 and "motel hell". a film that has a pretty cult following from its years of shwoing up on AMC and the USA network. its got murder, cannibalism, young girl falling for an old farmer...yeah.thats the scariest bit of the film. im thinking stockholm syndrome is in full effect. in a nutshell, farmer vincent and his sister ida trap people to use for farmer vincent's famous jerky. i guess the hotel business isnt that good,so they have to moonlight in meats. once trapped, the dynamic due removed their vocal chords and plant them in the garden. what? you dont like your meat tenderized? later they are made into jerky and the cycle continues. its evil dead but less brilliant.

so what does atomic war bride do with this fantastic source material? why they amp the camp factor to eleven and twist the knob off. track one?.It takes all kinds of critters to make farmer vincents fritters. is done in the most 70's,heavily polished country style you could imagine. it out ronnie milsaps ronnie milsap. if not for the lyrics about exactly how human jerky is made, this song would have a bright future in truck stops.

come into my secret garden has karoliena taking over on vocals. here she takes on almost a siren like quality, urging people that life is better when planted in a garden. you get to be fed until you have great marbling,then....off to the slaughterhouse. possibly the best song on the ep. it seems here the war bride were actually trying to make a song, instead of throwing lyrics at a general sound.

the tragic ballad of ivan and the terribles in the film there is a movie sterotype about what a rock band is supposed to be. they drive a kick ass ford falcon van with ivan the terrible painted on it. they run over some bear trap, farmer vincent catches them and hilarity ensues. here the war bride takes it on themselves to ....flesh out these characters. (sorry, that pun had to be made). ...basically picture frank sinatra singing about walter white's customers. as corny as it sounds, the war bride does lounge very well! it suspected erica kobayashi helped with the piano on this track.

finally,we come to oink, oink, mother fucker! motel hell's most famous...using the term loosely, scene is farmer vincent wearing a pigs head and wielding a chainsaw. this song tries to capture that feeling by what else? samples of pigs and chainsaws behind the psychoist of psychobilly. there are probably lyrics, but they are hard to hear over the clackity bass line.

all in all? very worthy addition to the war bride's halloween collection. plus at 5 bucks shipped? its a helluva deal. each copy is signed and includes jerky made by erich hess. it is rumored he is quite the meat handler.so take that as you may. sadly, its 100% beef and not human. but it is said to be very spicy and flavorful....beef jerky as an extra feature. only from atomic war bride.

ooc:didnt draw the art,but did add some filters and crap to it.
