Layla couldn't help but to smile when he compliments her nurturing side. She had always been that way since she could remember. She just loved taking care of people. It gave her a joy inside that she couldn't describe. "I hope so. I hope he thinks we're great parents." She kisses his head as he stops eating momentarily and seemingly falls back asleep. She pulls up her hospital gown and then just cradles him in her arm. "Want to hold him?" She asked Mark. She knew that it was important for the parents to bond with a newborn as much as possible when it was first born. |

"He's going to think you're the best parent ever. I mean look how he cuddles into you already. He already loves his mommy so much," Mark smiles. It meant the world to him to see Layla happy like this. He always felt like she deserved the world, and to be able to start a family with her and make her so happy was the best feeling for Mark. When she offers River to Mark to hold him, he nods and gently reaches over. He was still a little nervous about holding him in case he did it wrong. But he knew he had to learn at some point, and he was determined to be the best dad he could. He cradles Rivers head gently as he holds him close. "He's so tiny and precious. I can't believe how amazing he is," Mark beams with pride as he looks down at his son, who yawns as he falls back asleep. |

Layla watches the two of them and it melts her heart. Seeing Mark as a father was something she couldn't get over. He was always a gentle person and very nervous but he could still be perfect in every way. She knew that Mark would be a great father, no matter how much he underestimated himself. "He loves you already, see? He's all comfy and feels protected." She giggles a little and then gets comfortable in her hospital bed, leaning over and grabbing the cup of water to drink from. |

When Layla says that River loves Mark already, he looks down at him and smiles. River was still so young, but he could already tell how much his parents cared for him, and Mark could tell by the way that he would cuddle so close whenever one of them held him. "He just looks so at peace and relaxed. I wonder what he's thinking," Mark smiles. He looks back at Layla. "You feeling ok, Lay?"

"I'm feeling fine." Layla smiles, seeing how he was constantly worried about her and River. "I'm doing great, I feel probably better after giving birth than most women could say." She laughed a little and decided to start eating while she had some time. "It's going to be so hard going back to work now. I feel like I just want to stay inside all day and cuddle with him or watch movies." |
