Just Stay is a song recorded by Danish-American recording artist Medina for her debut studio Album "Paper Light". It was released by Warner Music temporarily until Medina can finally find a supporting label, It's the 2nd single from her album after her 3rd single "Goodbye" was announced has the lead single. Written by Medina while she was attending a Musical Art University in Denmark. She submitted the song to a small music label in Copenhagen but got rejected after a Swedish pop act took over the Scandinavian music scene. The track is a "I want more love" type of pop song that explains Medina's rush on wanting to have one more night with a unknown lover who made her have a night of pure sexual pleasure which she defines as her natural high with out any drugs needed.
The song lyrically is very well written, explaining the feelings and sexual desires that Medina is craving and wanting to give to the unknown lover of the track. The song could not come off as cheesy but could have some lyrical influences from other pop love songs. Medina noted that she didn't want the song to be too promiscuous so she used drug references as the desiring factor of the love she desired to have, even if in the song she says that no "Pill or Drink" could not come close to the love (High) her and her unknown lover had. The chorus is the main ear candy of the song, due to the high quality instrumental that follow it. The chorus gives you a feeling of wanting to let loose in the dance floor even if everyone is watching you, it's a very club scene song with a touch of a desperate love attempt.
The songs production came from Swedish pop producer Shellback and Moroccan Producer RedOne who gathered in Stockholm to produce the track. You can hear Shellback's guitar notes and RedOne's 80's style club beats from the start. The track is very well produced and uses many instruments in the background that you might miss due to Medina's incredible vocals on the track. The track switches from Bouncing club beats to only Guitar, drum and tambourine notes which give the track originality but can come off as close to Erik Zullo's deubt single "Run" due to the guitar and beat transition, but we must remind out self that they were both produced by shellback.
